Red Hat Brings Open Virtualization to VMworld Europe 2010

斯德哥尔摩 -

Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced its participation at VMworld Europe 2010, taking place in Copenhagen from the 12th to the 14th of October. Red Hat will be exhibiting on Booth 62 where virtualization expert Geert Jansen, product marketing manager at Red Hat, will discuss Red Hat’s comprehensive Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization portfolio and Red Hat's Cloud Foundations solution set.

First announced in November 2009, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is an end-to-end virtualization portfolio including a hypervisor based on kernel-based virtual machine (KVM) technology as well as server and desktop management tools. In June 2010, Red Hat released the 2.2 update to its portfolio, including the general availability of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization for Desktops. Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 2.2 includes new scalability capabilities, migration tools and features to expand the performance and security of the solution.

Organisations such as NYSE Euronext, CME Group, DreamWorks and Swisscom leverage the Red Hat Enterprise Linux kernel for their mission-critical workloads. Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization similarly offers all of the enterprise-grade characteristics of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including industry-leading performance, scalability, security and a wide ecosystem of supported hardware and enterprise applications.

Customers around the world, such as North America-based Qualcomm, a leading global developer and innovator of wireless technologies, Italian-based Policlinico San Marco and Indian-based Euronet, have adopted Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization as their strategic virtualization platform.

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization leverages SELinux security technology developed in conjunction with the US Government and offers enterprises an optimized platform on which to base large-scale virtualization initiatives and internal/private cloud deployments.

In addition to the challenges of adopting virtualization technologies in the enterprise, Red Hat's Jansen will also discuss the latest developments in cloud computing, such as Red Hat Cloud Foundations, a major new offering designed to deliver comprehensive solutions for planning, building and managing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) private and public clouds.
