While some may feel that innovation in the IT industry may be dwindling, the seventh PC Magazine Technical Innovation Awards proves otherwise, with a greater number of products and categories than last year. In order to qualify for an award, a product or technology must be considered as innovative in its approach or functionality during the twelve month period that precedes the event. The judging is carried out by the entire PC Magazine editorial team and uses its combined knowledge and experience to assess the pros and cons of each nominee.
For this year's PC Magazine UK Technical Innovation Awards, Red Hat Linux was nominated in 3 categories: Best Network Operating System, Best Operating System, and the Editorial Fellows' Award.
Says the UK Mag, "The future is subject to the winds of fate, but what Red Hat gives us is an amazing potential. It now includes the possibility that Unix might, at last, become a single standard, rather than dozens of rival proprietary versions."
And we at Red Hat think that this is Jolly Good!
