Red Hat, Inc. today announces the Dec. 1 availability of vendor-backed commercial support contracts for Red Hat Linux.
These support contracts are available for the Intel platform, with support to be provided for the Alpha and SPARC(R) platforms in 1998. This support for Red Hat Linux is available through independent organizations, called Red Hat Support Partners, who receive access to and support from Red Hat's technical expertise and commercial resources.
Resources include an internet-based solution database of technical information, a centralized trouble ticket system, a technical mailing list, and assistance with difficult support questions provided by Red Hat's support and development departments.
Said Robert Hart, Manager of Support Services, "The devolved support network provides Red Hat Linux commercial support clients with the best of both worlds--locally based support delivery backed by the technical and quality assurance resources of Red Hat."
Providing commercial support for Red Hat Linux has long been a priority for Red Hat, Inc. With the Red Hat Support Partner program firmly in place, Red Hat, Inc. now moves to the next level of support delivery--direct support for individual users of Red Hat Linux. Look for future announcements to detail Red Hat's plans for end-user telephone support.
Organizations interested in or curious about the Red Hat Support Partner program should contact Robert Hart, Manager Support Services, Red Hat, Inc. by email at hartr@redhat.com for more information.
