Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced the launch of the Red Hat OpenShift Practice Builder Program in Asia Pacific. The program aims to help system integrators (SIs) build and monetize a modern cloud-native application development and delivery practice using Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat JBossMiddleware.

Companies are often driving digital transformation initiatives to be more innovative and help avoid disruption. As part of those initiatives, they can leverage tools such as cloud and containers to more quickly, easily and securely build and deploy modern apps that can help them stay ahead of competitors. Gartner predicts that, by 2020, more than 50% of global organizations will be running containerized applications in production, up from less than 20% today.
The Red Hat OpenShift Practice Builder Program is uniquely designed to help SIs build expertise on Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat JBoss Middleware developer tools and enable them to build and modernize applications for the cloud, to help deliver new services at lower cost and accelerate development for faster return on investment.
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform is an award-winning application development platform that unites developers and IT operations on a single platform to build, deploy, and manage applications more consistently across hybrid cloud infrastructures. An example is the Hong Kong-based international airline, Cathay Pacific, where they have replaced their legacy infrastructure with a cloud-native stack built on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform. This move has enabled Cathay to create a more efficient and scalable platform for developing and delivering new services, enabling Cathay to create a better overall experience for their customers.
Several Asia-Pacific SIs, including NTT Data in Japan, Wipro in India, Sino-Bridge in China and Integral and ANATAS in Australia, have been involved in building the program. The Red Hat OpenShift Practice Builder Program is designed to be relevant to both established as well as “born-in-the-cloud” SIs that are building a DevOps or a modern application development practice.
Josep Garcia, vice president of Asia-Pacific Partners and Alliances, Red Hat Asia Pacific
“System integrators are key to helping Asia Pacific companies innovate through the development of new cloud and container-enabled applications, as well as modernizing existing applications. Global systems integrators like Accenture, Atos, DXC, HCL and Wipro have already built skills and solutions on Red Hat’s technology to address their customer’s needs. We are excited to bring the Red Hat OpenShift Practice Builder Program to help SIs in this region more quickly build expertise on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise Kubernetes container application platform.”
Hiroshi Tomiyasu, technology and innovation general headquarters, NTT DATA
“With agility and flexibility being increasingly identified as being important in the current volatile business environments, we are confident that our strong collaboration with Red Hat will be the basis for our solutions. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform will be a core technology to help drive our legacy-digital integration platform, which aims to help customers migrate their on-premise assets to the cloud to maximize their value.”
Dominic Dsilva, practice head - Cloud, Compute and Storage SIMS, Wipro
“Customers value Red Hat OpenShift not just for providing a stable and supported Kubernetes distribution, but also because it provides a comprehensive and supported enterprise container platform. We are excited to embark on this collaboration with Red Hat to offer application modernization and a more sustainable way of providing a build once, deploy in different environments architecture with Red Hat OpenShift. Today, we can start a conversation with customers by re-defining aspects of infrastructure up to application. This can open new avenues for services in terms of consulting as well as migrating to cloud and managing them thereafter.”
Cheng Yan Hua, general manager, Innovation Solution Department, Sino-Bridge
“We are seeing enterprises in China opening up for digital transformation after years of IT adoption and industrialization. We believe that Red Hat OpenShift can meet customers’ digital transformation challenges in terms of application development, operation, automation and maintenance. The platform enables enterprise customers to deploy cloud-native applications more quickly and flexibly, while providing higher availability, greater flexibility and easier operation and maintenance. As a partner of Red Hat in China, Sino-Bridge will help to promote Red Hat OpenShift and our customers to transform successfully.”
Iain Elliott, practice lead, DevOps, ANATAS
“ANATAS has decided to build on our successful collaboration with Red Hat by becoming one of the founding members of the OpenShift Practice Builder Program, as we see OpenShift and our collaboration as a key differentiator. Red Hat OpenShift allows organizations to dismantle large-scale enterprise applications into micro services, giving developers greater agility and autonomy to do what they do best and develop new capabilities in their applications.”
Jayesh Shah, director, CAPIOT
“Being a participant in the program is an exciting prospect that can allow CAPIOT and Red Hat to open more doors, including in delivering new use-cases. More importantly, it enables both teams to influence customers early in their journey of delivering next-generation digital assets. We will continue to explore the capabilities that Red Hat OpenShift can provide to help deliver a competitive advantage to the modern enterprise.”
Michael Stone, national business development, Integral
“One of the key concerns for our customers is how to more rapidly develop and deploy containers across multiple environments. Red Hat OpenShift provides a single platform for customers to manage and automate containers across environments, supported by a cloud migration strategy. Our customers’ success is our success, and that’s why Integral is proud to continue building on our collaboration with Red Hat by becoming one of the founding members of the OpenShift Practice Builder Program in Australia.”
Adam Mutton, managing director - Delivery, Leonardo Consulting
"Leonardo believes that software is driving business disruption and containerisation is at the forefront of that disruption. Our decision to build on our successful partnership with Red Hat by becoming one of the founding members of the OpenShift Practice Builder Program is critical for our continued business growth. OpenShift is on the leading wave of containerisation. It enables organisations to evolve and develop applications faster with improved efficiency and agility, without worrying about the typical complexities of managing existing infrastructure. For Leonardo, the OpenShift Container Platform is an integral part of delivering end-to-end solutions to our customers."
Varad Gupta, CTO, Keen and Able
“We are excited to be part of Red Hat’s ecosystem to help provide freedom for application deployment to customers, at their convenience. Continuous integration and delivery are now a reality. We see customers choosing to containerize to regain control of the application lifecycle. With the niche skills Keen and Able has developed in Red Hat OpenShift and automation, we look forward to collaborating with Red Hat.”
