OVERVIEW

Red Hat and T-Mobile are hosting an Automation Codefest in June to challenge teams to create innovative automation solutions that drive the Telco to Techco transformation providing business advantages for T-Mobile. Leading up to the Automation Codefest event, Red Hat is offering T-Mobile associates a half-day, virtual event that will focus on the Automation Codefest preparation work required including hands-on labs, demos, discussions, use cases and more.

 

Who should attend?

The Automation Codefest preparation workshops are intended for T-Mobile associates who want to learn more about AI and Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform and how it can help you orchestrate, operationalize and govern your hybrid cloud environments. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of T-Mobile management and other participants at the Automation Codefest in May receiving first, second and third place award recognition. 

Join us to gain an understanding of how automation can help deliver more value with responsive IT services, gaining new levels of efficiency so you can focus on the innovations that give T-Mobile that edge of leading digital customer experience.

Ansible Validated Content 

Ansible validated content is a new set of collections containing pre-built YAML content (such as playbooks or roles) to address the most common automation use cases. It's a trusted starting point to bootstrap your automation: use it, customize it and learn from it. In this session you will learn:

  • What validated content is and how it can help your organization
  • Explore the validated content library to better understand where it applies
  • Hands-on lab

Ansible Lightspeed with IBM Watsonx Code Assistant AI Update

Ansible Lightspeed with IBM Watsonx Code Assistant is a generative AI service that helps developers create Ansible content more efficiently. In this session you will learn: 

  • New features of Ansible Lightspeed
  • Connection between WCA and Lightspeed
  • Demo

Ansible Best Practices

Ansible is a flexible tool that provides many different avenues to content creation. This session will focus on the most efficient ways to code within Ansible and recommended techniques to ensure you remain consistent across your organization. In this session you will learn:

  • The power of dynamic inventories and how to use them efficiently
  • Understanding where and how to use variables
  • How to leverage the automation controller to define, operate and delegate automation

T-Mobile’s Ansible Automation Platform - How to leverage the tools efficiently 

T-Mobile managed platforms for Ansible are essential in making automation successful across the company. Having a shared platform for automation has the ability to increase collaboration, better versioning control and increases accountability. In this session you will learn:

  • Introduction to platform owners for AAP at T-Mobile
  • Onboarding and resource information
  • Using Ansible effectively and safely - policies and governance 

 

Hackathon Preparation (required)

Hackathon Preparation and Brainstorm

This is your opportunity to learn all of the details about and prepare for the hackathon and address ideas with your counterparts as well as Red Hat Automation experts. In this time frame you can expect: 

  • Groups will be built based on interest of three categories: Networking, Security and Process-driven use cases
  • Collaboration and brainstorming of use-cases to build
  • Work with Automation experts to build out your plan, including a one hour session with Red Hat consultants
