For the last few months, we’ve been sharing the exciting and thought-provoking keynotes that you can look forward to at Red Hat Summit 2019. From hybrid cloud, containers and cloud-native app platforms to management, automation and more, customers, partners and technology industry leaders from around the world will come together for a high-energy week of innovation, education and collaboration.

In our 14th year, we’re bringing you inspirational, educational and actionable content, industry-shaping news, and innovative practices from customers and partners from across industries. With just fours week to go, we’re proud to announce the last round of partners and customers who will be taking the stage in Boston, May 7-9.

Microsoft: Satya Nadella, chief executive officer

After joining Microsoft in 1992, Nadella quickly became known as a leader who could span a breadth of technologies and businesses to transform some of Microsoft’s biggest product offerings. As one of our key partners, Nadella will join Jim Whitehurst on stage to discuss trends impacting IT today, Microsoft’s increased collaboration with open source communities, the evolution of Red Hat’s relationship with Microsoft and how we are working together to deliver value to our joint customers.

BP: Ed Alford, vice president, Digital Transformation

As a global energy business, BP is not daunted by the dual challenge of delivering the energy the world demands with fewer emissions. Technology is a fundamental part of BP’s strategic response; including delivering digital solutions that help simplify processes and enhance productivity. BP is transforming its technology function to help solve these large, complex challenges even more effectively and efficiently. In this session, Alford will share part of BP’s journey: the development of its Application Engineering Services’ Digital Conveyor, a package of automations designed to empower developers and engineering teams to provision their own Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments.

Emirates NBD: Ali Rey, vice president, Cloud Platform

During this keynote, attendees will hear about Emirates NBD’s efforts to become the first bank in the Middle East to launch its own private cloud. Rey will share how the bank transitioned to a private cloud, named Sahab, built on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform in six months and utilizing other Red Hat technologies. He will also discuss how, by embracing open source solutions, it moved further into compliance with open banking, which is mandated by GDPR. Through real time data analysis, Emirates NBD is able to deliver more personalized products and services for their customers more quickly.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory: Robin Goldstone, HPC solutions architect

For many years now, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has used Red Hat Enterprise Linux on its mid-range high performance computing (HPC) systems. Alongside these mid-range systems, LLNL always has one very large “world class” supercomputer, which has traditionally been built from esoteric hardware running a closed source, vendor proprietary operating system. That model has now changed with LLNL’s newest supercomputer, Sierra, from IBM. The Sierra system, built from IBM Power processors and Nvidia GPUs, includes plenty of innovative features not found in typical commodity Linux clusters. Yet LLNL insisted on an open source operating system and determined that Red Hat Enterprise Linux was the right choice for Sierra. In this keynote, Goldstone will share how LLNL has brought their experience and expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux to bear on one of the world’s fastest supercomputers, to the benefit of both their staff and end users.

In addition, for the first time, Red Hat’s Chris Wright will be joined on stage by customers and partners offering demos on their intriguing work in the emerging tech. During this keynote, attendees will get to see live examples of how organizations are innovating in areas from operations to development, healthcare to telecommunications and banking. Together, they will share next-generation advancements that have the potential to change not just one business, but entire industries - built on the foundation of Red Hat platforms. Customers and partners who will be taking the stage include Dr. Ellen Grant, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Martin Isaksson and Robert Lundberg, PerceptiLabs, as well as H2O.ai and ProphetStor.
