Red Hat Partners with CERT-In in Security

Red Hat and CERT-In will work together to provide a consistent, worldwide notification and educational process for all security advisories and technologies on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Red Hat (NASDAQ: RHAT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, today announced their partnership with CERT-In, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team. Red Hat and CERT-In have agreed to work together to educate Red Hat Enterprise Linux users on dealing with security advisories. This relationship is an extension to the worldwide relationship Red Hat has with CERT teams worldwide.

As part of this agreement, the teams will be working together to educate customers on common terms to help them understand security advisories released for Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform. The teams will also be creating a platform for jointly analyzing the information, provided by various sources to cert-in on an attack planned/happened on a systems deployed on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform in India.

Red Hat's International Security Response Team works with CERT teams globally to communicate Red Hat security advisories to resolve security vulnerabilities identified by them for Linux platform. This team will investigate and verify the issue, analyze which products are affected, determine the impact, and work out the remedial action that needs to be taken.

CERT-In is an acronym for 'Indian Computer Emergency Response Team'. CERT-In is the National Incident Response Centre for major computer security incidents in its constituency i.e. Indian cyber community.
