Red Hat Adds Top Level Talent to Focus on Customer Experience

Company hires former EMC executive, Nicholas Van Wyk, to take on role of Vice President of Operations to optimize subscription experience and support of the channel.

RALEIGH, N.C -

Red Hat (NASDAQ: RHAT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, today announced the hiring of Nicholas Van Wyk in the newly created role, Vice President of Operations. Van Wyk will drive the optimization of Red Hat's subscription model and work to create business process to better support the channel.

Van Wyk comes to Red Hat from EMC, where he was responsible for integrating Legato's channel operations into EMC's channel software strategy as Vice President of Worldwide Channel Operations, Combined Software Division. Prior to the acquisition of Legato by EMC, Van Wyk served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales Operations at Legato.

Van Wyk will report to Joanne Rohde, Executive Vice President of Global Operations at Red Hat.

"Red Hat's subscription model combined with a pure open source methodology has proven to be one of the strongest combinations for customer success in technology over the last few years. Our resolve to optimize to better suit the needs of customers and partners has never been stronger," said Rohde. "This resolve is demonstrated today with the creation of a new role and hiring of Nick. His experience working with enterprise partners and customers makes him the perfect fit for this role."

"Red Hat's mantra is to create value for customers. I believe this is one of few companies actually positioned to make this happen," said Van Wyk. "Working closely with channel partners and customers, I hope to drive forward the value creation Red Hat started years ago."

Van Wyk will be based at Red Hat's headquarters in Raleigh, NC.
