RALEIGH, N.C - —
Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced the hiring of Petra Heinrich as Director of Channels and Partners, EMEA. The industry specialist will further develop Red Hat's role as an active and reliable partner of the channel. Heinrich will be based at Red Hat's European headquarters in Munich, Germany.
Petra Heinrich joins Red Hat from her previous position at Open Xchange, where she was responsible for worldwide sales and services. She started her career at Lotus Development 14 years ago, where she was responsible for business partners, distribution and partner marketing. She later developed the international partner business for Intraware AG. In 2002 Heinrich led worldwide indirect sales at Suse Linux AG. Following Suse's acquisition by Novell in January 2004, she fused the indirect sales activities of both companies in the EMEA region and led the combined business.
"Red Hat's integrated platform of solutions and services, including the JBoss product offerings, provides resellers, system integrators and hardware and software partner's manifold possibilities to expand their open source businesses," explained Heinrich. Red Hat has achieved tremendous growth in recent years and we are well aware that this development can only be continued hand in hand with our partners."
"We are very pleased to have won such an experienced person for this position," explains Werner Knoblich, Vice President and General Manager EMEA at Red Hat. "The channel continues to be extremely strategic for Red Hat. We are sure that Petra Heinrich will optimally support our partners in order to continue our exponential growth together."
