RALEIGH, N.C - —
Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that Shenzhen Stock Exchange has signed an agreement to build the next version of its Securities Trading System on Red Hat technologies.
Through the collaboration with Red Hat, Shenzhen Stock Exchange plans to build a centralized cross-market trading system to provide greater efficiency, capacity, security, scalability, and business adaptability. In addition, it aims to utilize a more scientific and rational architecture capable of supporting multi-level and multi-phased implementations.
Detailed performance requirements for the new trading system include 99.99% availability, failover time of three minutes or less, latency time less than 10 milliseconds and support to process 300 million orders daily and more than 50,000 securities when available.
“The current version of our trading system has been running for over a decade, but as the market needs evolve, the demand for a new trading system is heightened, hence the need for a new and improved version. We want to build a centralized cross-market trading system to meet the developing requirements of China's security market over the next 10-15 years,” said Huali Yu, Director of the Technical Planning, Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Throughout the development stage, Red Hat will continue to provide product support and training services for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform.
"We commend Shenzhen Stock Exchange for looking to the future with its new trading system and are proud to be a part of that vision. Red Hat has a rich history and successful track record of powering some of the world’s leading stock exchanges and remains committed to helping customers meet evolving market demands,” said Sen Ming Chang, general manager of Red Hat Greater China.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Middleware products have been used by a number of stock exchanges globally, such as NYSE Euronext, Deutsche Borse, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Tokyo Stock Exchange, and Singapore Exchange.
