We're pleased to share the news that Red Hat has won two of the 2020 Stratus Awards for Cloud Computing. This contest awards innovators and leaders in the cloud compute business, and Red Hat was recognized for our work in two categories: Infrastructure as a Service and Kubernetes.
The driving force that garnered success in Kubernetes was our Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes (RHACM) offering. RHACM allows users to manage multiple Kubernetes clusters from a single management system.
Since its first GA release in July 2020, RHACM continues to build on Red Hat’s commitment to delivering enterprise-ready open source solutions by offering built-in policy driven automation for security, governance and multi-cluster and application lifecycle management for open hybrid cloud deployments.
As our customers deploy clusters across multiple clouds, RHACM allows them to centrally set policies for the automatic configuration of managed components across hybrid clouds, enabling their IT operations teams to better maintain compliance with industry or regulatory standards. These policies can be enforced at scale with each new cluster, enabling rapid growth without greatly impacting an organization’s IT security footprint.
Furthermore, they can ensure uniform configuration and control of the infrastructure supporting these clusters to manage business risk, compliance and application performance.
Consistent, policy-driven, cross-cloud automation of resource discovery, inventory, tagging and use of predefined GitOps templates helps users eliminate previous ad hoc interventions that created operational risk due to configuration errors and potential security breaches.
To continue to scale cloud-native application development and operations, customers are turning to Red Hat for consistent multicluster automation.
We'd like to send out congratulations to our team members, and to the communities we work with to build out or open source software product lines. Our success in Kubernetes and in cloud computing comes on the shoulders of giants who are both inside and outside of Red Hat.
The Stratus Awards for Cloud Computing are presented by the Business Intelligence Group, which also gives out awards to businesses with excellent workplaces, technical marketing and AI/ML. From their website:
About Business Intelligence Group
The Business Intelligence Group was founded with the mission of recognizing true talent and superior performance in the business world. Unlike other industry award programs, business executives—those with experience and knowledge—judge the programs. The organization’s proprietary and unique scoring system selectively measures performance across multiple business domains and then rewards those companies whose achievements stand above those of their peers.
