My name is Fisher, and Fish is a pretty common nickname I go by! I was born just outside Portland, OR, but I've moved around a lot of the USA growing up.
I joined the Army out of high school to work as an IT Specialist, and although I only served for one contract (4 years), I had the pleasure of travelling pretty frequently throughout much of the Pacific theater, including Thailand, South Korea, Japan, etc.
I learned a lot from my time in the service, and I have applied those lessons to IT systems administration and engineering roles at a couple of different employment opportunities since finishing my contract. I've learned to lean into my love for learning and for connecting with others, and that yearning has led me to Red Hat! Before working as a Solution Architect, I came from Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute, located in Pittsburgh, PA where I currently live with my amazing girlfriend and our crazy (but mostly lovable) poodle.
