Red Hat Enterprise Linux in the cloud

Jump to section

Join Red Hat® for a hands-on look at running Red Hat Enterprise Linux® on any supported cloud. We will cover cloud basics and dive deeper into topics to help prepare on-premises administrators for Red Hat Enterprise Linux on a public cloud provider.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

The benefits of Red Hat Enterprise Linux in the cloud: Red Hat Enterprise Linux is optimized for your applications no matter where they run, providing a consistent, manageable, and high-performance operating foundation for hybrid and multicloud environments.

Bring your own Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscription vs. pay-as-you-go: Should you bring your own subscription when moving to the cloud or use a pay-as-you-go model? We will talk through the requirements, benefits and possible pitfalls of each method.

Deploying Red Hat Enterprise Linux from your cloud provider’s console: We will discuss the options and technologies at your disposal if you decide to deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux using the images that your cloud provider supplies.

Building and deploying your own custom images: If you require deeper customization, we will get hands-on with custom image builds using image builder and other tools that allow you to customize your images before deployment. We will also discuss how to deploy those images on your cloud provider.

Managing and monitoring Red Hat Enterprise Linux in the cloud with Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Lightspeed and automation: How do you manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux once you are up and running in the public cloud? We’ll take a look at the management and monitoring tools included with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, even in the cloud, and get hands-on with the remote host configuration tool. We’ll talk about how to subscribe your systems while avoiding unnecessary subscription costs, and other management and automation options to consider.
