(Nasdaq: RHAT), leader mondiale nella fornitura di soluzioni open source, annuncia che le sue soluzioni sono state scelte da CSI-Piemonte, consorzio pubblico regionale che promuove l'innovazione nella pubblicazione amministrazione locale attraverso l'impiego dei piu' moderni strumenti informatici e telematici. Red Hat Enterprise Linux e JBoss Application Platform sono state utilizzate per lo sviluppo di una piattaforma di servizi applicativi dedicata agli enti pubblici locali del Piemonte.
Dopo aver condotto un'ampia ricerca sul mercato, CSI-Piemonte ha scelto Red Hat Enterprise Linux e JBoss Application Platform per la reputazione positiva delle due soluzioni, per la qualita' del supporto che le accompagna e per il livello di innovazione delle soluzioni open source. L'implementazione del progetto e' partita nel 2006 ed e' stata condotta internamente, con il supporto di Red Hat e JBoss. La piattaforma, chiamata OASI (Open, Available, Secure, Integrated: http://www.csipiemonte.it/progetti/oasi/index.htm) e' una soluzione su cui vengono erogati i servizi destinati ai clienti del CSI e messa a disposizione delle imprese ICT per lo sviluppo e la gestione delle proprie applicazioni. Le applicazioni sviluppate sulla piattaforma OASI possono essere usate dai vari enti pubblici della regione Piemonte, permettendo loro di beneficiare dell'innovazione collettiva di altre realta'.

CSI-Piemonte puo' avvantaggiarsi di un'infrastruttura open estremamente efficiente, che consente risparmi economici anche molto consistenti. La piattaforma e' resa disponibile sotto licenza GPL (General Public Licence), con la garanzia di essere una soluzione condivisa basata su standard aperti.
