PARIGI - —
Red Hat, Inc. (NASDAQ : RHAT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, today announced that Ares has joined the Red Hat Advanced Partner Programme in France.
Ares is now the second Red Hat Advanced Partner in France, a status which will enable them to benefit not only from the certifications - which are indispensable for a recognised quality of service - but also from the added value of Red Hat's support for customers migrating to Linux.
Ares, who already marketed complete Red Hat computing solutions to their clientele, now have an even larger range of competences, including the Red Hat Network. This allows businesses not only to update their Red Hat infrastructure in a completely secure way, but also to offer a tailor-made service to their customers as well as managing their server centre. Ares' customers will also benefit from added services such as training, advice and help from Red Hat. Ares will increase their staff of certified engineers in order to offer their customers the highest possible quality of service.
With customer satisfaction being their main focus, Red Hat will be concentrating on maximising the quality of their service based on the skills brought by Ares and the know-how of Red Hat. The indirect approach which is favoured by Red Hat requires total commitment regarding the level of skill they offer and this is what Advanced Partner customers will benefit from.
This partnership is based on Red Hat's distribution strategy - a philosophy which brings together the technical experiences of Red Hat and Ares as well as their complementary technical skills.
This new alliance strengthens the policy of Ares, who aimed to become a major contributor of Open Source in France, particularly of Linux from the beginning.
Jean-Louis Lezaun, head of Business Open Source said: "By relying on the offers of HP and IBM, Ares already make an important contribution to the Linux and Open Source environments. This partnership, which came about due to the increasing demand by our customers for Open Source computing solutions, will enable Ares to offer a much more in-depth and rigorous expertise of Linux products and of Open Source tools. For our customers, it is an extra assurance of the quality of the products and services offered by Ares."
The future looks bright for these two businesses now in partnership and they envisage many projects together. At the top of the list is a massive undertaking: the ARCOLE range which covers the main administrative functionalities of businesses, ranging from the management of accounts, budgets and salaries to reporting to human resources, time management and purchasing are all catered for and certified on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms.
Ares will benefit from a cycle of proactive actions taken by Red Hat, such as general seminaries dedicated to common communication plans or a support in trade shows and other related events.
Created in 1986, ARES has 1 700 associates, 1 250 of which are engineers and technicians. The Group proposes a global IT offer based around two sectors of activity: the Technology Sector with the branches of Architecture & Infrastructure, Systems & Networks, Facilities Management & Hosting, and the Professional Sector which groups together the branches of Study & Development and Package Computing Solutions. Listed on the second-tier stock market (NextEconomy) since March 1999, ARES is the leading systems integrator in France.
"A liquidity contract on the titles of the company, in compliance with the Charter of Deontology established by the AFEI and approved by the Commission of Stock Market Transactions, was signed with CIC Securities on the 9th of January, 2002."
