Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced the promotion of Michael Chen, General Manager of Red Hat China, to the role of Vice President, Corporate Marketing. Chen opened Red Hat's operations in China while expanding sales, service and engineering across greater China. He will be responsible for brand and corporate communications.
Chen joined Red Hat in 2002 in Product Management. Most recently, Chen served as Red Hat's General Manager of Greater China.
Michael Chen is an excellent leader and marketer. Michael will expand the breadth of international knowledge and experience in the senior leadership of Red Hat,
said Matthew Szulik, President and CEO of Red Hat.
Chen holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, a Master's degree in Computer Network Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree from Nanjing University.
Chen, 35, will report to CEO Matthew Szulik and will be based in Raleigh, NC.
