Doosan Information & Communications and Korea Electric Power Corporation Honored as Red Hat Innovation Awards APAC 2018 Winners in Korea

Recognized for their strategic use of open source innovation

SEOUL, KOREA - —

Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced the winners of the Red Hat Innovation Awards APAC 2018 for Korea. Doosan Information & Communications and Korea Electric Power Corporation were recognized at the Red Hat Forum Seoul on Nov. 6, 2018, for their outstanding and innovative usage of Red Hat solutions.

Inspired by the theme of the Red Hat Forum APAC 2018, “Ideas Worth Exploring,” Red Hat Innovation Awards APAC recognize organizations that are modernizing and optimizing their IT infrastructure using open source to be more efficient, flexible and agile. Winners were selected based on the business value and impact delivered by their Red Hat deployments.

Winner: Doosan Information & Communications

Doosan Information & Communications provides IT services for Doosan affiliates worldwide, including IT consulting and system integration, application system services, and IT infrastructure services. Doosan Information & Communications adopted Red Hat Ansible Tower to strengthen the management of its private IaaS platform which is used as the foundation of its hybrid cloud environment. Through the use of Red Hat Ansible Automation, Doosan Information & Communications simplified and automated its IT service management, leading to enhanced productivity.

Winner: Korea Electric Power Corporation

Korea Electric Power Corporation is an electric utility responsible for electricity generation, transmission and distribution, including overseas research, development, and sales. The electric power industry is transforming as digital technologies and renewable energy conversion take hold. To drive its digital transformation, the Korea Electric Power Corporation migrated its UNIX-based system infrastructure to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and deployed an IT infrastructure for its research work based on Red Hat technologies.

The Digital Transformation category recognizes organizations that have successfully addressed IT challenges and delivered business value to effectively compete as a digital enterprise.

As part of the 11-stop Red Hat Forum APAC event series, winners for the Red Hat Innovation Awards APAC 2018 will be announced at each stop. Each event will recognize a maximum of two winning projects, with both enterprise and government organizations encouraged to participate.
