In response to the pandemic, Red Hat Training and Certification has allowed people to cancel or reschedule any previously scheduled classes or exams. Individual exam eligibilities have been extended multiple times since last year, and we have extended the period for which all certifications are considered current.

Most importantly, we launched our remote exam capability last August and expanded it to our entire exam catalog. Remote exams allow candidates to take their exams in a suitable space at home or elsewhere, thus providing a critical option in locales that remain under lockdowns. Following the enormous interest in this option, we have expanded our exam delivery capacity to allow everyone to schedule and take their exams without long wait times.

In order to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to schedule and take exams in which they are enrolled, we will be offering one additional round of extensions as follows:

  • Purchased exams expiring from September 8th through September 30th have been extended 60 days from their current extended expiration date.

  • Purchased exams expiring in October have been extended 60 days from their current extended expiration date.

  • Purchased exams expiring in November have been extended 30 days from their current extended expiration date.

We are also extending the validity period for all current certifications through December 31, 2021. No further extensions are anticipated at this time.

Schedule your exam today

If you have previously purchased an exam but have not yet taken it, be sure to schedule before your exam eligibility expires—especially if it has been extended beyond its expiration date under the terms described above. Because we do not expect to offer additional extensions, we expect a high volume of end-of-year exam deliveries and, therefore, encourage all examinees to schedule as soon as possible to avoid the need to purchase a new exam due to the expiration of one they have already purchased.

Remote exams, our most popular way to take exams today, are convenient but not unlimited - schedule today to secure the date and time that works best for you before end-of-year seats fill. This exam style also requires some preliminary work to prepare your work environment and systems. Make sure to review the steps covered in How to Take a Red Hat Remote Exam in advance.
