Red Hat expands channel ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand to promote managed hybrid cloud solutions

Newly appointed distributors Ingram Micro and Tech Data will work to qualify partners for the Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider program

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -

Red Hat Inc., the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that it is expanding its partner footprint in Australia and New Zealand to specifically focus on open hybrid cloud innovation amidst increased interest in open hybrid cloud technologies. Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM) and Tech Data (NASDAQ: TECD) have been appointed as distributors for the Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider (CCSP) program and will work with Red Hat to qualify, recruit and onboard partners as Certified Cloud and Service Providers.

Cloud provider models have expanded beyond multi-tenant public clouds to include private cloud build-outs, Linux container-based infrastructure and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions, and the Red Hat CCSP program offers additional flexibility to help solution providers better meet customer needs for cloud-based Red Hat technologies.

These appointments come in response to increased interest in managed, multi-hybrid cloud solutions in Australia[1] and New Zealand[2]. As enterprises face increasingly complex cloud environments, an open hybrid cloud strategy enables companies across industries to provide solutions for legislative and industry compliance, support IT modernisation and uncover new business growth opportunities without the constraints of vendor lock-in.

The Red Hat CCSP program empowers ANZ solution providers with the flexibility and scalability to meet evolving customer needs through open, cloud-based technologies. With Ingram Micro and Tech Data as distributors, Red Hat is able to assist more organisations in the region address interest with open hybrid cloud innovation.

Red Hat’s CCSP designation is awarded to partners that meet testing and certification requirements to deliver a scalable, supported and consistent environment with security features designed for enterprise cloud deployments. The globally unified CCSP program assures customers, ISVs and partners that a given solution has been validated by Red Hat product experts so cloud implementations begin with a solid foundation for success. Ingram Micro and Tech Data will verify partners as Certified Cloud and Service Providers based on their ability to host and resell Red Hat's portfolio of technologies through a monthly, pay-as-you go subscription that supports multi-tenant, dedicated, hybrid and managed service delivery models.

CCSPs can gain access to Red Hat solutions that not only offer a more secure, scalable platform for building public and private clouds, but also empower DevOps to develop, deploy and manage diverse applications seamlessly. Providers can use those solutions to improve operational efficiency and flexibility, expand their hybrid cloud service offerings and offer scalable, highly available third-party ISV applications on Red Hat technologies.
