Red Hat Launches Online Learning for the European Market

Red Hat Online Learning Allows Professionals Flexible Training Options

-

Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced the European launch of Red Hat Online Learning (ROLE) - a new, self-paced online learning method built to address the needs of today's technology professional. ROLE allows students to access the robust course content and hands-on lab experience delivered in classroom training from the comfort of their own computer at their own pace. Courses will be offered in the following languages; English, German, French, and Spanish (neutral).

Students access online classroom course materials comparable to those used in traditional classroom courses that have been optimised with added explanations for self-studying.  In addition, they have access to a library of webinars and video lectures, offering guided instruction and preparation for Red Hat Certified System Administrator and Red Hat Certified Engineer exams (EX200 and EX300). Each unit includes a knowledge check, providing an opportunity for students to validate their comprehension of the material before moving on to the online lab. This tool is designed to give students immediate feedback and truly test their knowledge of the material.

“Our new self-paced, online learning gives customers flexibility, allowing them to take a course on their schedule and from practically anywhere they can access the Internet,” said Jens Ziemann, director of Red Hat Training, EMEA. “This means professionals can better stay on top of their work projects and still get the training they need.  ROLE provides the high quality content and labs that we use for our instructor-led training, at about 85% of the traditional classroom training cost.”

With ROLE, students receive a 90-day subscription providing user access to all three Red Hat Online Learning components (course content, webinars, and labs). A total of 80-hours of lab access is available during the 90-day subscription. And with the exception of labs, which must be conducted via desktop or laptop computer, webinars and course content can be viewed from a mobile device.

To deliver the practical knowledge students need to advance their Linux administration skills and prepare for hands-on certification exams, ROLE will be available for the following courses:

                • Red Hat System Administration I (RH124R)

                • Red Hat System Administration II (RH134R)

                • Red Hat System Administration III (RH254R)

Red Hat Online Learning (ROLE) is offered in the following European countries:  UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Portugal
