Wednesday, April 16 3:50 pm - 5:50 pm

Whether it’s the fear of data loss through system or datacenter failures or data theft by parties whose intentions are unknown, there is no shortage of things to keep you up at night. In this session, we’ll guide you through how Red Hat Storage Server can help you sleep better by demonstrating the features that help protect your data against multiple failure scenarios, including theft. You’ll learn how to use Red Hat Storage Server to encrypt and replicate your data locally as well as remotely, and how to access the data securely over SSL.

Whether it’s a product overview or hands-on lab, you’re sure to learn about how Red Hat Storage can make your job easier.

Experienced Administrators

Using Red Hat Storage Server with HP UltraScale solutions for big data;
Wednesday, April 16 10:40 am - 11:40 am

Struggling to cost-effectively manage growing amounts of data while extracting more value from them? Join us to learn how running Red Hat Storage Server on HP ProLiant SL4540 Gen8 servers offers massive scalability, high performance, and volume economics for storage of all kinds of unstructured data. You’ll learn about creating a large file and object store, deploying an enterprise drop box or cloud storage for service providers, and establishing a nearline archive.

Red Hat Storage Server administration deep dive;
Wednesday, April 16 4:50 pm - 5:50 pm

In this session for administrators of all skill levels, you’ll get a deep technical dive into Red Hat Storage Server and GlusterFS administration. We’ll start with the basics of what scale-out storage is, and learn about the unique implementation of Red Hat Storage Server and its advantages over legacy and competing technologies.

Those new to the scale-out product will leave this session with the knowledge and confidence to set up their first Red Hat Storage Server environment. Experienced administrators will sharpen their skills and gain insights into the newest features. IT executives and managers will gain a valuable overview to help fuel the drive for next-generation infrastructures.

Red Hat Storage Server performance;
Thursday, April 17 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

In this session, you’ll learn how to obtain the best possible performance with Red Hat Storage Server—with information relevant to all phases of deployment. We’ll cover many Red Hat Storage Server topics, including best practices for deployment and software configuration, including virtualized deployments, configuration and integration strategies, and real-world behavior analysis.

Whether it’s a product overview or hands-on lab, you’re sure to learn about how Red Hat Storage can make your job easier.

Deterministic capacity planning for OpenStack as elastic cloud infrastructure;
Wednesday, April 16 1:20 pm - 2:20 pm

Capacity planning for elastic cloud infrastructure platforms like OpenStack is critical for successful deployments. The proper sizing of compute resources within OpenStack allows for easier scheduling, optimal efficiency in hardware utilization, and consistency of resource allocation.

Google Compute Engine and Amazon Web Services offer deterministic compute resources designed to meet both cloud provider business requirements and cloud consumer service-level requirements. In this session, we’ll explore these public provider approaches, extend them to OpenStack, and provide sizing data and tools to help with your deployment.

Red Hat Storage Server: Roadmap & integration with OpenStack;
Tuesday, April 15 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Red Hat Storage Server is an open, software-defined storage product for private, public, and hybrid cloud environments, based on the open source GlusterFS project, a distributed scale-out file system technology. You’ll also learn about the Red Hat Storage Server roadmap and plans for integration with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.

Using Cinder block storage;
Wednesday, April 16 10:40 am - 11:40 am

Cinder, the block storage service in OpenStack, is responsible for the volume storage of virtual machine data. In this hands-on session, you’ll explore the Cinder service configuration for multiple storage backends, including Red Hat Storage Server.

Whether it’s a product overview or hands-on lab, you’re sure to learn about how Red Hat Storage can make your job easier.

Red Hat Storage capabilities, applications and integrations

Tuning Red Hat Storage Server & Apache for AWS;
Wednesday, April 16 10:40 am - 11:40 am

In this session, you’ll hear about how Scholastic and Red Hat worked to tune Red Hat Storage Server for Apache running in the Amazon Web Service (AWS) public cloud. You’ll learn about the process followed to measure performance in AWS, identify bottlenecks, and tune Red Hat Storage Server and Apache to eliminate those bottlenecks, which resulted in performance that exceeded the original requirements. Speakers from Scholastic, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Red Hat will also demo Scholastic’s live customer-facing infrastructure.

Customer applications of Hadoop on Red Hat Storage
Tuesday, April 15 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

If analyzing data were easy, wouldn’t everybody do it? The fact is, several steps are necessary to effectively use Hadoop out of the box to process data for the information you need. From preprocessing relevant data to preparing it for consumption to copying large data sets to another location for analysis—the time it takes to analyze your data might render it irrelevant.

In this session, you’ll learn how Red Hat customers use Red Hat Storage Server to more quickly start mining their data by allowing the application that generates the data they need to write directly to where the analytics will run.

Turn storage from a burden into an asset with Red Hat Storage Server;
Wednesday, April 16 3:40 pm - 4:40 pm

Want to learn how Red Hat solutions can turn storage from a burden into an asset? In this panel, you’ll hear directly from Red Hat Storage Server customers who are benefiting from software-defined storage solutions. Learn how using Red Hat Storage Server and its core architecture have enabled them to rapidly store, protect, model, and deliver critical data. We’ll leave plenty of time for questions so you can interact with this panel of knowledgeable experts.
