The industry has shifted to hybrid and multicloud strategies to enable agility, flexibility and the portability of applications across clouds & infrastructure footprints. These include bare metal, virtual, private cloud, public cloud, and edge clouds. Customers trust Red Hat OpenShift as the foundation for hybrid cloud as companies aim to optimize developer productivity, promote innovation, and bring new capabilities to market faster than they have before. As customers use Red Hat technologies to help solve increasingly complex business problems, partners can provide sound guidance, prescriptive technical information, and even engineered integrations to assist customers in making effective technology decisions.
Red Hat’s partners have always been multipliers of the open source community and a driving force for customer success, and are uniquely positioned to support customers in new and impactful ways today and well into the future.
For this post, the focus is on partners that are helping to showcase their technology paired with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4. Announced at Red Hat Summit back in May of 2019, OpenShift 4 is the latest major release of Red Hat’s enterprise Kubernetes platform. Whether this partner technology is from our hardware ecosystem vendor partners, independent software vendors (ISVs), or cloud service providers, we are including a library of partner-authored reference architectures here.
Reference architectures are concrete proof points, and combine partner technology with Red Hat technology to formulate an innovative design to simplify the process for creating a stable, highly-available, and repeatable environment on which to run your applications on the OpenShift platform.
In alphabetical order, the following are design and/or deployment specific guides highlighting currently supported versions of OpenShift 4 with our partners. I hope to update this post periodically as new solutions emerge and older ones are refreshed.

Red Hat OpenShift Documentation
In-lieu of Red Hat authored reference architectures, we provide configuration guidance and recommendations directly in the OpenShift documentation for the most popular infrastructure footprints.
This is not to detract from our partner authored guides above, these recommendations are typically included as baseline guidance and are being covered to be complete in this blog post. Such guidance for OpenShift Container Platform includes the following, which can be found under the “Installing” category to list them:
- Bare metal footprints (Intel x86 architecture)
- IBM footprints (Z and LinuxONE, Power)
- Private Cloud footprints (Red Hat OpenStack Platform)
- Public Cloud footprints (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud)
- Virtualization footprints (Red Hat Virtualization, VMware vSphere)
Managed service offering documentation is also available:
- Azure Red Hat OpenShift
- OpenShift Dedicated
