RED HAT EXPANDS INDUSTRY-LEADING RHCE PROGRAMME

Leader in Linux Training and Certification Adds Locations to Meet IT Demand for Certified Engineers with Proven Linux Competence

Raleigh, NC -

Red Hat Inc., the leader in developing, deploying, and managing open source solutions, today announced further global expansion of the popular RHCE training and certification programme. Red Hat training is now available in 5 new US cities, bringing the total number of RHCE facilities to 17 cities around the United States. Beginning in May, Red Hat will offer Red Hat Certified Engineer courses and the RHCE Exam in Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and Seattle, WA, in addition to the 12 other training facilities located in North America.

In Europe, Red Hat has expanded to Dublin, Madrid, Manchester and Rome, in addition to previously announced locations in Berlin, Essen, Guildford, Hamburg, Milan, Munich, Paris and Stuttgart.

"Red Hat continues to bring RHCE training and certification to more cities in North America and Europe, providing our customers greater access where they live and work," says Peter Childers, vice president Global Learning Services. "We are pleased that IT professionals and their employers recognize the value and consistency of the RHCE Programme, as well as Red Hat's worldwide commitment to provide the highest quality training and performance-based certification on Linux systems administration, open source applications and development."

The RHCE programme is gaining attention as the most established Red Hat Linux training and certification programme, and the only performance-based certification for any OS. The programme, which granted the first RHCEs in January of 1999, tests and certifies the trainee's actual competency at Linux systems and network administration using Red Hat Linux servers on a live network.

More than 12,500 people have taken an official training course offered by Red Hat in the RHCE track. Of those people, over 5,000 have taken the RHCE Exam and 3,000 are now Red Hat Certified Engineers.

Red Hat provides verification services to RHCEs so they can verify their credentials to their employers or customers, at Red Hat Certification Central at /training/certifications/rhce/

Additional information on the RHCE programme, course descriptions, and facility locations is available at /training/ and /training/.
