Fedora-User treffen sich in der Schweiz

Die diesjährige Fedora Users and Developers Conference findet gemeinsam mit dem FrOS Camp vom 17. bis 19. September in den Räumen der ETH Zürich statt.

München, 7. September 2010 - Fedora, ein von Red Hat gefördertes und aus der Community forciertes Open-Source-Projekt, veranstaltet vom 17. bis 19. September in Zürich die diesjährige Fedora Users and Developers Conference (FUDCon) für die EMEA-Region. Die FUDCon EMEA bietet technische Vorträge, Arbeitstreffen und andere Möglichkeiten für einen Gedankenaustausch und die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Interessenten, die sich aktiv an der Weiterentwicklung von Fedora beteiligen.

Die FUDCon findet zeitgleich mit dem FrOS Camp 2010 in den Räumen der ETH Zürich statt. FrOS Camp ist ein internationales, zweitägiges Event (17. und 18. September) und umfasst eine Ausstellung, Vorträge, Workshops und Hackfests rund um Open-Source-Standards und die digitale Nachhaltigkeit von Open Source.

Fedora ist eine Open-Source-Linux-Distribution, die unter anderem aus einer Vielzahl freier Softwareprojekte besteht. FrOS Camp bietet Raum für Diskussionen rund um solche Projekte und ist auch Gastgeber der FUDCon. Durch die Gleichzeitigkeit beider Konferenzen erhoffen sich die Veranstalter des FrOS Camp einen regen Gedankenaustausch zwischen den Teilnehmern beider Konferenzen sowie eine engere Kooperation zwischen den Fedora-Entwicklern und den Besuchern des FrOS Camp.

Die Keynotes sind zeitlich so aufeinander abgestimmt, dass Besucher beider Events daran teilnehmen können. Neben einer Reihe bekannter Aktivisten des Fedora-Projekts aus den USA und der EMEA-Region wird der Fedora-Projektleiter Jared Smith eine der Keynotes halten. An den ersten beiden Konferenztagen (Freitag und Samstag) gibt es Abendveranstaltungen. Die FUDCon selbst läuft bis Sonntag, den 19. September.
