Course Description 

Virtual Machine Management in Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (CL118) delivers hands-on skills in creating, configuring, and managing virtual machine instances. Operators learn to prepare deployment resources such as projects, images, flavors, and SSH key pairs. They also configure project networks and persistent storage resources  for application workloads, and perform instance operations such as creating snapshots, resizing, rebuilding, and troubleshooting. This course is based on Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift 18.0. 

Business Outcome 

Equip operators with practical, hands-on skills in managing virtual machine instances, networks, and storage on Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) to support application workload deployment and Day 1 operation readiness. 

 Student Outcome 

Students gain practical skills to create, configure, and manage virtual machine instances, project networks, and storage resources on Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO). This course prepares them to support Day 1 operations, deploy application workloads, and troubleshoot common instance deployment and management issues. 

 Readiness

Target Audience

Platform engineers, cloud administrators, and system administrators who support workloads that run in virtual machines on OpenStack.

Recommended Preparation

Required: RH124, RH134, or RH199. Or equivalent RHEL experience

Basic data center storage and data center network concepts.

Basic understanding of virtualization concepts.
