In June 2010 at the Red Hat Summit in Boston, Red Hat announced enhancements to its customer experience and subscription value with the general availability of a new global customer portal. The customer portal provides a single point of entry for Red Hat customers to access product knowledge such as document and video content, downloads, case management, security updates, subscription management and proactive planning tools such as use cases and solutions. Well-received by customers since its launch, the customer portal today receives new updates that include expanded value for our subscribing Red Hat customers.
One of the key introductions in this update includes the establishment of new collaboration features and online user groups, which will allow customers, partners and Red Hat experts to join groups where they can discuss topics related to Red Hat products, comment on our knowledge videos, tech briefs and reference architectures and share their knowledge and success through documents and forums. By commenting, voting, and rating content, our customers and partners will be able to highlight what's most useful to them and also provide reputation points to their community peers. With collaboration and communities being the DNA of Red Hat, this project is expected to be an important addition to our community ecosystem and will establish sharing and collaboration among our community of users.
In addition to the introduction of the portal's online user groups, today's customer portal update also features updates that include:
-
A refreshed knowledge dashboard, which provides highlights of new and popular knowledge content as well as recent comments and feedback from users.
-
Collaborative content, with additions such as the ability to filter and sort the content using a newly defined set of fields, the ability to comment on assets and vote on comments from other users and an option to subscribe to receive notifications as content is modified.
To access the customer portal and to join the online user groups community, visit the customer portal here.
