Meet the latest OpenShift Superheroes

This week at Red Hat OpenShift Commons taking place at Red Hat Summit in Boston we had the chance to recognize a few OpenShift Superheroes. While each member of the OpenShift community is a hero, helping contribute to the project’s success and growth, some members really stand out. These contributors are the advocates and champions that make the community strong and successful.

OpenShift Superheroes are made up of:

• Builders: contributing to the evolution of OpenShift
• Advocates: amplifying their OpenShift experience and learnings through events, blogs, meetups and more.
• Ambassadors: shares knowledge across diverse teams, industries, organizations

Here’s a look at who we recognized for helping to advance the community through their contributions, participation and innovation:  

Ali Rey - Emirates NBD Technology

“Ali and his team are leading the way in replacing their legacy virtualization platform with OpenShift Virtualization for thousands of VMs and adopting containers for all workloads of the bank. Ali and his team have also helped shape the product roadmap for both Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization and MTV.”

Anes Hazard - Saudi Aramco

“I'm nominating Anes for this award because he possesses deep technical expertise, evident in his innovative solutions in the AI area. He's actively engaged with the team and giving feedback about our solutions, always willing to help us and share his knowledge, for example, by installing Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed and meeting with the team to give feedback on how to improve it from Aramco perspective.”

David Smith - Diebold Nixdorf

“Dave and his inspired technical team have blazed trails advocating the use of Openshift by all customers and colleagues who implement the microservices version of Vynamic Transaction Middleware. They encourage customers to consider the merits of using a fully supported, resilient open source based application management platform, irrespective of their deployment platform or preferred hyperscale, or hosting partner, rather than building DIY solutions..”

Jesus Gonzalez - UPS

“Jesus Gonzalez has consistently driven innovation by identifying areas where OpenShift Dedicated can optimize and enhance performance and security. He has had a direct impact on the OpenShift Dedicated roadmap, giving the team clarity on what matters most and helping to make OpenShift Dedicated what it is today. He advocated for features like Private Service Connect, Workload Identity Federation, Shared VPC, Shielded VMs, and much more in Red Hat OpenShift 4.17. Jesus is a true partner to OpenShift Dedicated and thanks to his influence and feedback, additional groups inside UPS and other customers are benefiting.”

Murad Korejo - Presidio

“Murad leads teams for OpenShift POCs, installs and deployments. Notably, he co-authored the "OpenShift for Beginners eBook" for Presidio for their customers. He advises customers and leads his team(s) on how to employ best practices and onboard new use cases for OpenShift deployments.”
