In November 2022, Red Hat published their ninth Global Tech Outlook, a report conducted by Red Hat that explores the challenges and funding priorities of thousands of customers for the upcoming year. Mirroring last year, talent and skills gaps were highlighted as the top barrier to digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of both hiring knowledgeable team members and upskilling existing employees on key technology. In fact, skills training is one of the top non-IT funding priorities for customers heading into 2023.

For many organizations, enrolling an entire cohort of employees in formal classroom training is impractical and costly. Members of today’s workforce need flexibility and practicality in their training journey, allowing them to mold their learning experience to specific needs and situations. Red Hat Training has evolved their offerings and modalities to keep pace with the changing  needs of customers and learners—including combining video and text-based training into a single offering, meaning that individuals can use the method that best suits their needs without having to choose between modalities.

Your pace, any place

Red Hat’s self-paced training provides the exceptional quality of training Red Hat has become known for, without the inconveniences of travel costs or time away from the office. Students can learn whenever and wherever it is convenient for their personal schedule, making this our most adaptable training offering available.

Flexibility is the name of the game. Whether you’re logging in from your desk at work or under an umbrella on the beach, our dynamic, on-demand videos will walk you through all of the same high-quality content that is covered in our classroom-based training experience. Our expert certified instructors teach through high definition recorded video lectures and supplemental course content, including e-books and searchable transcripts. Students also have the opportunity to put these skills into practice in our virtual lab environments.

While the curriculum is identical, Red Hat has tailored these training offerings to be optimized for self-study by providing unlimited access to course content,  including knowledge checks between units to validate comprehension, and providing email support to students with questions about the curriculum.

Red Hat Training is constantly expanding and working to become accessible to as many students as possible. Many of our courses are delivered in at least eight languages (with closed captions available in eleven!), allowing learners around the world to advance their skills, prepare for certification exams and further their career.

Getting started

The freedom and flexibility that comes with the self-paced training journey can make it a bit daunting when deciding where to kick off. Red Hat Training’s skills path finder can help individuals determine first or next steps based on their career goals and technical challenges.

Red Hat Learning Subscription (RHLS) also allows learners to instantly access the complete catalog of self-paced courses, videos and labs that are frequently updated to keep pace with evolving Red Hat technologies and industry trends. Through RHLS, students can bookmark content, browse a variety of courses and video transcripts and stop or start any course when it’s convenient for them. In addition, live expert chat is available to help students as they run into questions. Some RHLS tiers also include the cost of sitting for a Red Hat certification exam, simplifying the journey from obtaining knowledge to proving it.
