Red Hat® Cloud Access lets you move your Red Hat subscriptions to AWS in 3 easy steps.

  1. Check your eligibility.
  2. Enroll: To get started, you'll need your Red Hat account number and your cloud provider account number. If you don't remember your provider account number, or need to sign up for a new one, please contact the provider directly.
  3. Work with your cloud provider to import images.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux® on AWS provides a secure, consistent enterprise platform. It has APIs for certified applications and container portability across physical, virtual, and private and public clouds, which allows for an open, hybrid cloud environment. No, Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Amazon EC2 is maintained by Red Hat and is identical to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux version available for installation on physical hardware or virtual machines in your datacenter. AWS customers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Amazon EC2 receive access to the base images (AMIs) and updates from Red Hat.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 5.11, 6.7, and 7.2, in addition to Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP HANA version 6.7, are available on EC2. See the AMI matrix for specific versions and corresponding AMI IDs by region, or the AWS Marketplace.

Yes. Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP HANA is now available in the AWS Marketplace. SAP has certified Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 6.6 for use with SAP HANA.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux is available in all regions for pay-as-you-go, on-demand use. It is also available using Red Hat Cloud Access in all regions except AWS GovCloud and the China region.

Ensuring consistency between your datacenter updates and patching, and those on EC2, is critical for your company's security practices and is a fundamental tenet of Red Hat's open hybrid cloud. Red Hat provides easy ways for you to update your images on EC2. If you are using the pay-as-you-go, on-demand images on EC2, all updates and security patches are provided to you directly on EC2.

If you are using Red Hat Cloud Access, Red Hat provides consistency between your on-premise image updates and your EC2 images updates, using Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Network, or the Red Hat Customer Portal to access updates.
