Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated

Overview

Businesses differentiate themselves by delivering extraordinary experiences to their customers, and those experiences are created by applications that must evolve quickly to meet expectations. Once deployed, these applications must be portable, security-focused, scalable, and manageable. Organizations are turning to containers and Kubernetes to meet these needs. To quickly deliver new applications or to containerize and migrate existing ones to the cloud, they need a trusted platform to build upon.

However, building and managing a container environment yourself can be difficult. Many IT organizations lack the skills and staff needed to maintain their environment internally. Others prefer to focus on application development and modernization rather than creating, updating, and administering their container infrastructure.

Built by open source leaders, Red Hat® OpenShift® is the leading enterprise Kubernetes platform. Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated is a fully managed Kubernetes platform hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). With Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated, innovators can focus on what matters, stay competitive, and outpace rising customer expectations without worrying about managing the underlying infrastructure.

Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated

Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated is an enterprise Kubernetes platform professionally managed by Red Hat, hosted on AWS or Google Cloud, and dedicated to a single customer. It includes a Linux® operating system, container runtime, networking, monitoring, container registry, authentication, and authorization solutions. It connects to your datacenter, letting you implement a more secure, flexible, hybrid cloud IT strategy with minimal infrastructure and operating expenses.

Features and benefits of Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated

Fully managed Kubernetes

  • Professionally managed infrastructure: Our proven and experienced Red Hat OpenShift operations team manages infrastructure configuration, maintenance, and security. There are no virtual machines (VMs) to operate, and no patching is required.
  • Isolated platform: Your Red Hat OpenShift cluster will contain only your users, applications, and services.
  • Established container technology: The latest container technology and open source standards include support for Kubernetes Operators.
  • Self-service: You can deploy the cluster and networking configurations when needed.
  • Security: Strong processes and security controls are aligned with industry standards to manage information security.

Full-service clusters

  • Award-winning support:2 Technical expertise, guidance, and knowledge are available 24x7, including collaboration with specialty teams by phone or chat.
  • 2 Global regional availability: Hosting is available in regions supported by Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), including Asia-Pacific, European Union, South America, U.S. East, and U.S. West (excludes China and AWS GovCloud), as well as Google Cloud Platform regions.
  • End-to-end service: This service includes building, installing, upgrading, managing, and maintaining every cluster.
  • High uptime: OpenShift Dedicated comes with a 99.95% availability SLA and 24x7 support.

Empower developers to innovate

  • Automated workflows: A source-to-image (S2I) process places source code into ready-to-run container images. Streamlined developer perspective: Developers do not need familiarity with Kubernetes concepts, and they only see the information and configurations they care about.
  • Operators: Developers can integrate with trusted third-party services through the operator framework.
  • Developer tools: Direct access is available to a rich set of command-line tools, a multidevice web console, and Eclipse-based integrated development environments (IDEs).

Flexible pricing and consumption

  • Customer cloud subscription: Use your Amazon Web Services account to get the most out of your existing AWS discounts, or purchase a standard cluster through Red Hat.
  • Consumption-based billing: Customers can add nodes on demand, and ad hoc worker nodes are billed hourly.
