The Fedora Project Announces First-Annual Conference; Fedora Users and Developers To Meet In Boston February 18

RALEIGH, N.C. -

RALEIGH, N.C.--Feb. 3, 2005--The Fedora Project, a Red Hat-sponsored (Nasdaq: RHAT) and community-supported open source project, today announced the first-annual Fedora Users and Developers Conference (FUDcon). Held at Boston University on Friday, February 18th, FUDcon is the first conference to bring together Fedora users and developers from around the world.

FUDcon 1 will provide the opportunity for the members of the open source community, including developers, users, and enterprises, that are contributing to the Fedora Project to exchange ideas, influence the direction of the Fedora Project, and advance the project forward.

The conference boasts a comprehensive agenda to address the wide range of interests and expertise of those involved in the Fedora Project. Separate tracks for users and developers will include in depth discussion sessions ranging from Stateless Linux to the state of the Fedora Project.

Prominent keynote and session speakers include Michael Tiemann, Vice President of Open Source Affairs at Red Hat; Havoc Pennington, technical lead of the Desktop team at Red Hat; and Eric S. Raymond, author of "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" and co-founder of the Open Source Institute.
