RALEIGH, N.C. - —
Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that John Mark Walker, community lead for the Red Hat-sponsored Gluster Community, will be a featured keynote speaker at the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit on April 15, 2013. The Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit is a global, invitation-only summit gathering core kernel developers, distribution maintainers, ISVs, end users, system vendors and other community organizations for plenary sessions and workgroup meetings to meet face-to-face to tackle and solve the most pressing issues facing the platform today.
Walker’s keynote will discuss Total Datacenter Victory: Open Source Data Storage. The IT industry has seen the last ubiquitous, proprietary technology in the datacenter. Current technology trends tie together a few vectors – virtualization, automation, scalability, and open source – into a common direction: speed, agility and rapid iteration. In his address, Walker will discuss how unstructured data is growing exponentially, and the open source industry is now at the vanguard of a new era of data storage and management, and software-based storage is the way to claim victory over these challenges.
