Bobby Leibrock is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Red Hat. He oversees the finance, HR, legal, operations, strategy, and IT teams.
Leibrock joined Red Hat in 2022, serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he oversaw all strategic finance functions to ensure operational excellence, including: accounting, finance and planning, tax, treasury, sales operations, audit, controls, data & analytics, procurement, and deal management. In February 2025, he expanded his role to become COO and CFO.
Before joining Red Hat, he spent more than 19 years at IBM, holding various roles across the CFO organization, primarily focused on the software business. Leibrock was a key member on the leadership team that drove IBM’s $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat. Upon closure, he transitioned to a broader business role focused on post-close planning and execution. His scope from the IBM side included the overall synergy project office, finance and operations functions, and offering development between the companies.
Earlier in his tenure, Leibrock held financial leadership roles for IBM’s Software Segment, as well as business units across security software, automation software, cloud platform, global technology services (now Kyndryl) and mainframe. Across these roles, Leibrock drove success in IBM’s M&A strategy in areas such as security with Q1Labs or automation with FileNet, as well as portfolio management decisions with divestitures and spin-offs.
