RALEIGH, N.C - —
Red Hat, Inc. (NASDAQ: RHAT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, today announced the hiring of Mark Enzweiler as Vice President of North American Channel Sales. The addition of Enzweiler is the latest step in Red Hat's plan to build out its global channel strategy.
Enzweiler comes to Red Hat from Lenovo, where he served as Vice President of Global Channel Strategy and Sales. Previously he spent 25 years with IBM, where his global experience included General Manager of Latin America, the Personal Systems Group and the Global Chemical and Petroleum Industry Group. Enzweiler was also Vice President of North American Channel Sales and Director of Global Sales at IBM.
Enzweiler will report to Ed Boyajian, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Red Hat.
"Demand for Linux, JBoss and open source solutions is accelerating. Our partners are an important part of this change as they are also shifting business strategies from proprietary platforms to Linux and open source as a way to better serve their customers," said Boyajian. "Mark has experience building channel programs for two of the world's largest technology companies and has a keen understanding of what channel partners need to be successful. He's going to be a great asset to help Red Hat scale with the demand."
"Red Hat is in a unique position to offer channel partners, and their end customers, true value and innovative solutions," said Enzweiler. "The opportunity for Red Hat is relatively greenfield as partners are looking to move from proprietary software business to open source."
Enzweiler will be based at Red Hat's headquarters in Raleigh, NC.
