“World’s leading trade fair for the manufacturing industry.”
HANNOVER MESSE brings the core industrial sectors together at one location – from drive engineering, automation, energy, R&D and industrial IT to subcontracting. This is the place where exhibitors cross the boundaries of technology and industry.
Be sure to connect with Red Hat at Hannover Messe at one of our demo sessions. We’ll also join some of our top manufacturing partners’ stands to showcase leading-edge solutions built on Red Hat’s open hybrid cloud platform.
Speaking sessions
From Locked In to Plugged In: Reinventing OT with Margo and Red Hat
Time: 15:00 – 15:45
Location: Solution Lab Automation & Digitalization, Hall 26 E43
Presenters:
Tim Mirth, Senior Specialist Solution Architect, Red Hat
Julien Duquesnay, Software Defined Systems Architect, Schneider Electric
Abstract:
Margo revolutionizes industrial automation by replacing static, vendor-locked systems with a modular, interoperable framework. By decoupling software from hardware, Margo brings IT-grade agility and continuous innovation to the factory floor, modernizing industrial systems for the digital age. In this session, Red Hat and Schneider Electric demonstrate how Margo bridges the IT/OT gap to increase resilience and future-proof automation investments. Born from a collaboration of industry leaders, Margo combines deep OT expertise with open-source platforms like Linux and Kubernetes. The result is a consistent, secure foundation that scales seamlessly from embedded devices and edge environments to the cloud. Discover how the factory floor is finally being unlocked.
Mission (AI)possible: Stop the LEGO train before it's too late using AI at the Edge!
Time: 3:10–3:30 pm
Location: Hall 26, booth E43 – Expert Stage 1 (Solution Lab Automation & Digitalization)
Presenters:
Nicolas Massé, Principal Specialist Solution Architect, Edge Computing, Red Hat
Abstract:
Experience AI at the Edge with a physical LEGO train demonstration that bridges theory and industrial reality. This session addresses the critical challenge of crafting and updating autonomous systems using AI by showcasing a complete MLOps lifecycle.
We will demonstrate how to train a computer vision model in the cloud and deploy it for immediate, on-site inference. The model recognizes traffic signs, triggering the train's braking system when a specific sign is captured by the train's camera. By processing data locally at the edge, we eliminate latency, which is essential for ensuring safety in industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.
Moving beyond static slides, this live demonstration illustrates how to train and deploy AI models at the edge and at scale with device fleet management. Attendees will gain practical insights into managing the full data pipeline to solve complex edge computing challenges.
Red Hat’s advanced compute platform (ACP) running ONCITE Digital Production System
(with German Edge Cloud - Hall 16, Stand A16)
Red Hat, in collaboration with German Edge Cloud (GEC) and the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Cognitive Internet Technologies (CCIT), will demonstrate how modern manufacturing intelligently connects data, edge systems, and cloud infrastructures. Experience how this consistent foundation for container-based applications establishes repeatable processes and improves real-time responsiveness.
Containerized Fleet Management
(with Schneider Electric - Hall 13, Stand C34)
Red Hat, in collaboration with Schneider Electric, will demonstrate how traditional, hardware-based Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in industrial settings (such as oil and gas or wastewater treatment), can be migrated to a software-defined, containerized environment.
