Anchoring Trust in the Age of AI: Identities Across Humans, Machines, and Models
Tuesday, November 11, 2025 | 10:08am - 10:13am EST
Yuan Tang, Senior Principal Software Engineer
Anjali Telang, Principal Product Manager for OpenShift Security and Identity
Every revolution in computing has been defined by trust. Firewalls secured the internet, while API keys and IAM roles helped shape the cloud. Today, in the Kubernetes era of ephemeral workloads and Agentic AI, trust is no longer just about people—human and machine identities now stand on equal footing. The challenge is ensuring auditability: knowing who or what is calling, and being able to trace every interaction.
This keynote shows how projects like Kubernetes can anchor a new trust fabric. With SPIFFE and SPIRE providing cryptographic workload identities, and Keycloak enabling another layer of identity and access control, we establish an auditable chain of trust. Paired with KServe, this fabric extends into AI serving so that every model, explainer, and pipeline step runs with verifiable identity. Together, they make Kubernetes a secure, accountable platform for the age of AI.
Additional Resrouces
KServe Project
KServe, a CNCF incubating project, is a standardized, distributed, and scalable inference platform on Kubernetes for both generative and predictive AI.
SPIFFE/SPIRE Project
SPIFFE (Secure Production Identity Framework for Everyone) and SPIRE (SPIFFE Runtime Environment) are CNCF graduated projects that provide a framework to enforce modern zero-trust architectures by providing strongly attested, cryptographic identities to workloads across a wide variety of platforms.
Keycloak Project
Keycloak, a CNCF incubating project, is an Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution that provides authentication and authorization capabilities to services using popular standards, such as OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and SAML 2.0.
OpenShift AI
Red Hat® OpenShift® AI is a platform for managing the lifecycle of predictive and generative AI (gen AI) models, at scale, across hybrid cloud environments.
Zero Trust Workload Identity Manager
Red Hat’s distribution of the SPIFFE and SPIRE project providing a comprehensive identity management solution for distributed systems.

Three Well-Lit Paths to Scalable LLM Inference with llm-d on Kubernetes
Wednesday, November 12, 2025 | 12:15pm - 12:35pm EST
Christopher Nuland, Technical Marketing Manager, AI Inference
As GenAI workloads move from prototypes to production, engineering teams hit scaling walls: exploding GPU costs, uneven latency, and bloated, black-box inference stacks. In this live demo, Red Hat will explore these three well-lit paths for scaling LLM inference on Kubernetes using the open-source llm-d framework. Each path addresses a specific challenge in real-world GenAI operations:
- Intelligent Inference Scheduling reduces latency through prefix cache–aware routing and prompt/session stickiness.
- Prefill/Decode Disaggregation improves GPU efficiency and reduces tail latency by decoupling compute stages.
- Wide Expert Parallelism unlocks the ability to deploy Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) models with high throughput across multiple replicas.
The session will feature a live demonstration of llm-d, deployed with vLLM, Prometheus, and Grafana. Attendees will discover how to disaggregate LLM workloads into composable services and gain actionable insights for implementation on any Kubernetes platform. A key highlight will be a walkthrough of a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) model configuration, demonstrating llm-d's efficient scheduling of models using expert parallelism across different nodes, leveraging AI accelerators.
