レッドハット株式会社（本社：東京都渋谷区、代表取締役社長：廣川裕司、以下レッドハット）は、Red Hat Enterprise Linuxのシステム管理・運用ツール「Red Hat Network Satellite」のエントリー製品として、50台までの管理に限定した「Red Hat Network Satellite Starter Pack」を本日より提供開始します。オプションモジュールとの組み合わせによりレッドハットのLinux OSであるRed Hat Enterprise Linuxの導入からシステムのアップデートや監視など、システムライフサイクル全般に渡る管理・運用作業を効率化し、特に複数サーバへのシステム導入やアップデートの時間を短縮することで管理者の負担を大幅に軽減します。本製品のサブスクリプション価格は1サーバあたり年間65万円（税別）です。 また同時に、通常は40万円（税別）で提供しているトレーニングコースを2009年6月30日までの期間限定で、15%割引きの34万円（税別）で提供します。 今回のシステム管理・運用のエントリー製品の投入により、小規模なシステム構成においても、構築後のTCOを削減し、導入から運用までのシステムライフサイクル全般に渡ってコスト削減を可能にします。
■「Red Hat Network Satellite Starter Pack」の概要
「Red Hat Network Satellite」は、Red Hat Enterprise Linuxシステムの安定稼動に必須となるエラータ（修正プログラム/パッチ）の一括導入を効率化するシステム管理・運用ツールです。通常、アップグレードソフトウェアや修正プログラムの提供はレッドハットのオンラインサポートネットワーク「Red Hat Network」を通じて提供されますが、「Red Hat Network Satellite」のサーバを自社内に設置することで、ユーザは「Red Hat Network」と同等のサポート環境を、より高速でセキュアな自社ネットワークで利用することが出来るようになります。これにより、システムのアップデート作業の時間を大幅に短縮することができます。また、セキュリティポリシー上、常時のインターネット接続ができないシステムの運用・監視も容易になります。
今回発表した「Red Hat Network Satellite Starter Pack」は、50台までの管理に限定して、年間130万円（税別）で提供している台数無制限の「Red Hat Network Satellite」と同内容の機能を年間65万円（税別）で提供します（管理対象のサーバ毎に別途年間1万2千円（税別）のManagementモジュールが必要）。別途有償オプションのMonitoringモジュールやProvisioningモジュールの追加により、システム監視機能やシステムの一括導入を自動化・効率化する機能を提供します。また、Red Hat Enterprise Linuxの仮想化ゲストに対するシステムアップデートや監視、仮想マシンの起動・終了などの操作も可能となります。
