レッドハット株式会社（本社：東京都渋谷区、代表取締役社長：廣川裕司、以下レッドハット）は、Red Hat Enterprise LinuxベースのリアルタイムOS製品「Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime」を本日より提供開始します。レッドハットのLinux OSであるRed Hat Enterprise Linuxをベースとしてリアルタイム機能を拡張したカーネルとチューニングツールで構成され、高いアプリケーション互換性と長期的な標準性を維持しながら応答時間の予測性を高め、リアルタイム性の高いローレイテンシ(低遅延)の実行処理を可能にします。本製品のサブスクリプション価格は1サーバあたり年間25万8,000円（税別）からとなります。また同時に、有償の導入コンサルティングサービスも提供します。
金融機関のトレーディングシステムにおいては、数ミリ秒程度の遅延が取引やビジネスに多大な影響を与えることから、遅延を最小化することが求められています。また、通信業界やネットワークサービスにおいては、ダウンタイムによるビジネスの損失を避けるために高いSLAの達成が必要条件とされています。このようなニーズを背景に開発された「Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime」は、金融機関や通信業界で求められるローレイテンシ(低遅延)処理を実現するRed Hat Enterprise LinuxベースのリアルタイムOS製品です。
「Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime」はRed Hat Enterprise Linuxとの互換性を維持しているため、標準的なインテルx86プロセッサベースのサーバを利用できる上に、標準的な開発ツールで開発したLinuxアプリケーションをそのまま実行することができ、企業のコスト対策にも対応します。さらにIBMのWebSphere Real Timeとの組み合わせが可能で、Javaを用いたリアルタイム処理の適用領域が拡がります。また、将来に渡ってもレッドハットのエンジニアとLinuxコミュニティとの協調開発により、リアルタイム機能の拡張はLinuxのメインストリームの機能として取り込まれる予定です。長期にわたって安心して、このテクノロジを利用することが可能です。
「Red Hat Enterprise MRG」は、Red Hatが クラウドコンピューティングの一翼を担う技術として注目するテクノロジ群：Messaging, Realtime, Gridの頭文字をとったMRG（マージ）と呼ばれるスイート製品群です。このたび日本で提供されるのは、Realtimeに対応する「Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime」となり ます。
■ 「Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime」の概要
「Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime」はRed Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1のLinux 2.6.24.7ベースのカーネルをベースにして優先度ハンドリングやスケジューラなどを拡張したリアルタイムカーネルを始めとして、リアルタイムチューニングのためのユーティリティやリアルタイム性能のモニタリングツール、チューニングのためのドキュメントを含みます。実行環境やシステムユーティリティ、glibcの実行ライブラリなどは通常のRed Hat Enterprise Linux 5と互換性を持ち、アプリケーションはリコンパイル・変更することなく、そのまま実行可能です。

「Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime」はサーバ単位のサブスクリプションサービスでのご提供となっており、サポートレベルにより、2種類の価格を設定しています。
□スタンダード： 1サーバあたり年間25万8,000円（税別） （電話およびWebサイトによるサポート、月〜金の午前9時〜午後5時）
□プレミアム： 1サーバあたり年間35万8,000円（税別） （電話およびWebサイトによるサポート、週7日24時間）
注）MRG Realtimeの導入のためには、Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5をあらかじめご購入・インストールしていただく必要があります。
