Red Hat Summit デル株式会社（本社：神奈川県川崎市、代表取締役社長：ジム・メリット、以下デル）とインテル株式会社（本社：東京都千代田区、代表取締役社長:吉田和正、以下インテル）、レッドハット株式会社（本社：東京都渋谷区、代表取締役社長：廣川裕司、以下レッドハット）は本日、SPARCベースのSolaris環境からオープンなIAプラットフォームへの移行・普及を推進するため協力し、デルより移行プログラムを提供することを発表しました。本移行プログラムはIT予算においてボトルネックになりがちな初期費用に着目し、費用対効果が著しい効果が見込まれるSPARCベースのSolaris環境からRed Hat Enterprise Linux/デルサーバへの移行にフォーカスしています。導入・システム構築におけるサポートをセットにし新たに提供開始することで、顧客の投資を最大化するとともに、IAプラットフォームをベースとしたオープンな環境への移行ビジネスを加速します。インテル最新のサーバ用プロセッサー、インテル® Xeon® プロセッサー 5500番台を採用するデル PowerEdge™サーバは、SPARCベースのSolarisシステムに比べ半分の消費電力と設置面積を実現し、さらに3年間の保有コストも最大11分の1に抑えられ、優れた費用対効果を発揮します*。また、業務アプリケーションのシステムインテグレーションサービスは、デルのICS（インフラストラクチャ・コンサルティング・サービス）と、オープンソースおよびUNIXマイグレーションに実績のあるシステム・インテグレータとの連携により提供します。

業界標準技術を採用した製品とソリューションを提供するデルでは、インテルの協力を得て、インテル® Xeon®プロセッサー 5500番台を搭載したデルPowerEdge™サーバの普及を進めており、移行プログラムにおいても、PowerEdge™サーバをプラットフォームとして提供いたします。
一方レッドハットでは、限られたコストでIT投資を最大限に効率化するため、「Carve Out Costs with Red Hat」キャンペーンをグローバルに展開しております。このキャンペーンはオープンソースソリューションの利用によるコスト削減をテーマに、レッドハットソリューションやサブスクリプションの有効性を理解いただくためのもので、本移行プログラムはこのキャンペーンとも連動しております。
■移行プログラムの概要
本プログラムはレガシーシステムから、Red Hat Enterprise Linux/デルサーバの革新的なテクノロジーを搭載した業界標準のプラットフォームへ、スムーズに移行させるためのプログラムです。具体的にはSun Fire Vシリーズ、Sun SPARC Enterprise T シリーズ、Netraシリーズ、Sun Fire EシリーズをRed Hat Enterprise Linux 5.X搭載のデルPowerEdge™サーバ（インテル® Xeon® プロセッサー 5500番台搭載）に移行するための各種支援サービス/プログラムをデルより一括で提供いたします。プログラムの概要は下記の通りです。
- 移行コンサルティングサービス
これまでの豊富なオープン環境移行の実績と経験を元に、デル東日本支社に併設のソリューション・イノベーション・センターでの導入前の検証の実施、実施時における削減可能なツールによるコスト比較の算出、オープンシステムへの移行の実現性の査定といったコンサルティングサービスを提供。 - 顧客向けRed Hat Enterprise Linuxトレーニング
Red Hat Enterprise Linux およびJBoss の各種トレーニングサービスを提供。 - デルPowerEdge™サーバの提供
業界標準技術を採用したインテル® Xeon®プロセッサー 5500番台を搭載したデルPowerEdge™ サーバ製品群を提供
（1U2ソケットラックマウントサーバ R410の場合、Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5（工場インストール）と3年間サブスクリプション契約、3年間ITProサポート込みで、標準価格は税込み363,300円から）。 - ハードウェアのリースの支払い据え置き
ハードウェアのお支払いについて、最長6ヶ月の支払い据え置きリースを提供。
３社は今後、インテル® Xeon® プロセッサー 5500番台を搭載したデルPowerEdge™サーバ、およびRed Hat® Enterprise Linux®を利用したシステムを利用し、オープンなIAプラットフォームの利用による導入・運用管理などの有効性を検証します。また、検証した結果をもとに事例やホワイトペーパーの作成を進めるほか、共同でセミナー、トレーニングを開催することによって、オープンなIAプラットフォームの普及を推進します。
