レッドハット株式会社（東京都千代田区 平野正信社長）は株式会社アルファ・オメガソフト（本社：東京都港区 代表取締役社長：佐々木 隆仁）とLinux OSの特長を活かし、よりビジネス分野への普及、拡販を目指し、開発を含むISVアライアンスを締結したことを本日、明らかにした。
この問題の解決に際し、レッドハットでは、Linuxのリファレンスプロバイダーとして、日本語マルチリンガル環境を含むシングルバイナリ化を実現した「Red Hat Linux 7.1」をリリース、半年を経てエンタープライズシステムのLinuxへの移行に向けて、より強力なサーバーOS「Red Hat Linux 7.2」をリリースするに至った。これに合わせて、OSのリリースと同タイミングで動作可能なアプリケーション開発環境を提供するアライアンスプログラムの準備を図った。
アルファ・オメガソフトの有するデータ復元ソフトウェア「FINALDATA Linux」は、従来のバックアップを用いたデータ復元とは大きく異なり、フォーマットや削除によってOSからは見えなくなったディスク上のデータを、再びOS上で利用可能な状態に戻す世界で初めての機能を持っている。
また、削除したファイルや、フォーマットしたディスクなど、復元の対象に応じて複数バージョンを提供する予定。なお、これまで「FINALDATA」はWindows上で動作するデータ復元ツールとして2001年１月に「2000年日経優秀製品・サービス賞 優秀賞」などを受賞している。

今回バンドルされる「FINALDATA Linux Ｌｉｔｅ on Linux」は、データ復元機能を除き、製品版と同等の機能を有する。パッケージ購入時より、「FINALDATA Linux Ｌｉｔｅ on Linux」の機能、復元可能なデータ表示機能を使用できることになる。尚、製品版は同社よりオンラインまたはパッケージで購入できる。
