RALEIGH, N.C. - —
Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that InfoJobs.net, one of the leading employment websites in Spain, has migrated its critical web business platform to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform with the help of Essi Projects, a Red Hat Premier Business Partner.
Infojobs.net now fully leverages JBoss Application Platform 4.2.0 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for its application servers, indexing subsystem and database servers. Established ten years ago, InfoJobs.net runs a high-traffic web portal and has experienced significant growth. More than 5,500 users register their curriculum vitae through the InfoJobs.net web portal each day. With over 100,000 employment vacancies listed, Infojobs.net must meet the high-volume demand required by its users. Because of Red Hat’s significant value and fast run-times the IT department at InfoJobs.net migrated to Red Hat Enterprise Linux for all its environments and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform for its web and satellite servers.
“Red Hat and their partner, Essi Projects, provide the greatest value for our business model. They provide superior on-demand support which is exactly what we need,” said Gabriel Prat, IT manager, InfoJobs.net.
Essi Projects, a Red Hat Premier Business Partner, designed and implemented an automated procurement environment for the various development, production and pre-production, QA and testing environments. In addition, Essi Project engineers performed analysis for each of the InfoJobs.net systems creating personalized profiles for the installation and configuration, automated and unattended environments. One of the most significant improvements has been a reduction of the time necessary to prepare a server for operations, a task that now requires only a few minutes.
“The challenge of operating a website with completely dynamic content is enormous. Through open source technology we can offer our users smooth browsing with constant response time,” said Prat.
By leveraging Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, InfoJobs.net now has a scalable platform with full integration between application servers and the infrastructure level. Additionally, the deployment and maintenance tasks for new nodes have been simplified by adding a standard hardware wrapping, based on blade servers; the operations department can operate the application server infrastructure at full speed.
“We have a highly-skilled group of technicians and developers that enjoy working with Red Hat and the open source community,” added Gabriel Prat. “With the open source development model and Red Hat’s world class support we will be able to quickly resolve any issues that might arise.”
