Red Hat®, Inc., (NASDAQ: RHAT), a leading developer and provider of open source solutions, today announced that Kevin Harvey, General Partner of Benchmark, has joined the Red Hat Board of Directors and Walter McCormack has joined the company as head of Corporate Development.
Harvey brings more than 15 years of emerging technology company experience and vast knowledge of the computer industry to Red Hat. As a founding partner of Benchmark in 1995, Harvey has been instrumental in helping talented entrepreneurs build major technology enterprises focused on long-term growth. An early evangelist of Open Source development, Harvey also has invested in Collab.Net, developer of sourceXchange, a dynamic marketplace for the funding of Open Source software projects, and holds board seats with leading companies such as Ashford.com (ASFD), Broadbase Software (BBSW) and Critical Path (CPTH).
McCormack joins Red Hat from Goldman Sachs where he was in the High Tech Investment Banking group. McCormack brings a strong background in investing, advisory and financing services to Red Hat. As head of Corporate Development at Red Hat, McCormack is responsible for identifying and executing mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and investment and joint ventures.
