Lucy Kerner is Red Hat’s Senior Principal Global Cybersecurity Evangelist and Strategist and leads the technical and go-to-market strategy, evangelism, and thought leadership for security across the Red Hat portfolio globally. Lucy helps create and deliver security related technical content to the field, customers, partners, analysts, and press and has spoken at numerous events, including security conferences, such as RSA and Hack3rCon/SecureWV, and she's a Red Hat Summit Top Presenter. She is also a frequent author of security articles at various online magazines, such as TechBeacon, TechSpective, Increment Magazine, and more. Prior to her current role, she was a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect for the North America Public Sector team at Red Hat, where she presented and designed cloud solutions for a wide range of North America public sector customers. Lucy has 20 years of professional experience as both a software and hardware development engineer and a solutions architect, where she worked on various aspects of cybersecurity. Prior to joining Red Hat, she worked at IBM as both a mainframe microprocessor design engineer and a solutions architect for IBM x86 servers. She has also interned at Apple, Cadence, Lockheed Martin, and MITRE, where she worked on both software and hardware development.
Kirsten Newcomer
Director, Cloud and DevSecOps Strategy, Red Hat
Kirsten works closely with Red Hat’s many security professionals across the Red Hat portfolio of enterprise-ready open source offerings. Kirsten is a diversified software management professional with 15+ years of experience in application development and infrastructure solutions. Prior to joining Red Hat, Kirsten provided strategic direction for Black Duck’s open source security and governance solutions. Her career has spanned successful roles at IBM Software Group, Rational Software and BMC Software. Kirsten was an early contributor to the Linux Foundation's Software Package Data Exchange (SPDX) specification, which provides a set of standards for communicating the components, licenses, and copyrights associated with software.

Deon Ballard is a product marketing manager focusing on customer experience, adoption, and renewals for Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In previous roles at Red Hat, Deon has been a technical writer, doc lead, and content strategist for technical documentation, specializing in security technologies such as NSS, LDAP, certificate management, and authentication/authorization, as well as cloud and management.
