Embodying this year’s theme, “Unlock what’s next,” the Red Hat APAC Innovation Awards 2025 celebrates customers turning these trends into tangible results. The awards recognize 30 winners across the region whose inventive use of Red Hat’s open source technologies has sparked innovation, strengthened competitiveness, and delivered lasting value for their industries, customers, and employees. These organizations demonstrate how open source empowers enterprises to reimagine possibilities, navigate complexity, and seize new opportunities in an evolving landscape to define future competitiveness.

The awards comprise five categories: Digital Transformation, Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud-native Development, Automation – and the newly added AI and Emerging Tech.

Category: Digital Transformation

Winner: Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank)

Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank), one of Vietnam’s leading financial institutions, has been a key driver of the country’s economic growth for over three decades. As part of its long-term digital transformation strategy, VPBank sought to modernize its core banking infrastructure to deliver faster, more reliable, and scalable services that meet growing customer and business demands.

To achieve this, VPBank became the first bank in ASEAN to deploy its Temenos T24 core banking system on Red Hat OpenShift Platform Plus, establishing a highly available, enterprise-grade cloud platform. The migration enables the bank to automate deployment processes, enhance system flexibility, and improve performance while maintaining compliance and stability. With its new platform, VPBank can now scale efficiently, reduce infrastructure costs, and accelerate its five-year growth plan to become one of the largest and most technologically advanced banks in Vietnam and Asia.
