China Mobile Group Guangdong Co., Ltd., is a professional subsidiary of China Mobile Communications Corporation, a leading telecommunications services provider in China. It provides mobile voice and data services, wired broadband and other information and communication services to more than 100 million users in Guangdong, China. Its operating income ranks first among all communication companies in China.
To enhance their cloud business, China Mobile Group Guangdong hopes to adjust and protect cloud infrastructure more quickly through automated operation and maintenance. With the help of Red Hat Consulting, the telecommunications company aimed to reduce the complexity of their applications and environments, meet demanding customer SLAs and free up resources for business innovation. To overcome these challenges, it used Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to deploy a unified automation platform for cross-domain management, realizing the automation of inspection, patch upgrade, operating system upgrade, configuration change, security baseline check and security hardening. In the security hardening scenario, for example, each engineer can quickly check and maintain thousands of servers, increasing the timeliness by 95%, quickly responding to service requirements, and reducing the overall cost. More resources can be devoted to innovation and a better customer experience.

Hisense Group Holdings Co. (Hisense) business spans a wide range of fields, including multimedia, home appliances, intelligent IT information systems and modern services which includes smart transportation, precision medicine and optical communication.
Hisense initiated a PaaS cloud project to better support the business platform and industrial cloud deployment and selected Red Hat OpenShift for the implementation.
After adopting Red Hat OpenShift, Hisense reduced the time spent manually setting up the environment from 3 days to 1 hour, greatly shortened the system construction cycle, increased resource utilization by more than 60%, and ultimately reduced the overall cost and significantly improved IT agility. Red Hat Consulting services also helped the team ensure that the project implementation followed the correct process in the system architecture design to meet quality and schedule requirements.
With increased agility and efficiency, reduced costs and faster project delivery, the platform has made a positive impact on Hisense’s various business units and departments. Application development and operation and maintenance (O&M) departments have fully realized the advantages of PaaS over traditional virtualization and IaaS, such as improved resource utilization, dynamic scaling capability of PaaS, and rapid deployment of DevOps, promoting more departments to use PaaS.

China Industrial Securities Co., Ltd., (Industrial Securities) is a national, comprehensive and innovative national securities company approved by China Securities Regulatory Commission, and mainly offers services such as securities brokerage, underwriting and sponsorship, investment consulting, securities operation, financial advisory, and financing and securities financing. The group has always attached great importance to the development of fintech, and has placed fintech and digital intelligence transformation at the strategic height of the group.
To promote the holistic construction of "Digital and Intelligence thriving Industrial Securities" and build a cloud-native system in different domains and layers, Industrial Securities built a comprehensive solution which includes Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) runtime capabilities, microservices implementation and services with Red Hat OpenShift. OpenShift gives the company access to a comprehensive Kubernetes solution with enterprise support. Also, Industrial Securities is working with Red Hat Consulting to transform and undertake future operational and technical tasks of the container platform. Furthermore, they are using Red Hat Training to help IT teams quickly upgrade their skills.
The deployment successfully increased the company’s speed of innovation. The new platform has reduced 30% of compute resources usage via containerization, allowing the company to slash their total cost of ownership. Industrial Securities can also handle change management and business oriented development more seamlessly by reducing the application development cycle by 70%, from 5 days to 2 days. In addition, IT teams can also provide infrastructure services much more quickly via the cloud, being able to extend core systems in 15 minutes instead of two days.
Red Hat has helped us cope with serious technical challenges, providing a powerful and flexible platform to help us improve the service architecture. The platform will further consolidate our 'digital infrastructure' base, power societe generale securities in the next few years, increase the number of intelligent and digital transformations, boost group two-wheel drive speed and the integration of high quality development.
SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd.

SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., (SAIC Volkswagen) is a Sino-German joint venture founded by SAIC Motor and Volkswagen Group in October 1984. The company is one of the earliest automobile joint ventures in China.
To stay ahead of the automotive market, SAIC Volkswagen aims to lead in the emerging field of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), networks of vehicles equipped with sensors and software that can connect and exchange data with each other using the Internet of Things (IoT). The company wanted to build a major platform for implementing IoV and IoT and chose a containerization deployment mode, which can support evolving smart connected vehicles and host in-vehicle traffic portals in the long term.
SAIC Volkswagen chose Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to build this platform, in collaboration with Red Hat Consulting. Red Hat’s open source technologies helped the company avoid lock-in with closed source licensed products while offering enterprise-level support capabilities to help solve problems quickly and support the reliability of production environments. Red Hat OpenShift is also able to support hybrid cloud architecture, which can be adapted to different use cases across multiple infrastructures.
SAIC Volkswagen is now well positioned to invest more in business innovation and use the cloud to deliver faster infrastructure services and achieve greater business agility. Through the OpenShift-based PaaS platform, the platform team can more quickly provide the infrastructure and services needed by the business development team, giving them more time to focus on smart vehicles and systems innovation. The platform’s hybrid cloud architecture also means that business services can be more quickly and flexibly scaled based on traffic. At the same time, the business can be deployed to different cloud infrastructures according to the requirements of different scenarios, helping the business to respond quickly to changing market trends.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club is a world-class racing club that has a unique integrated business model comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, HKJC generates economic and social value for the community and supports the government in combating illegal gambling. HKJC is Hong Kong’s largest single taxpayer and one of the city’s major employers. Its Charities Trust is also one of the world’s top ten charity donors.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club wished to remediate legacy issues to enhance efficiencies, as well as save time and costs on repetitive tasks, in order to focus on providing the best possible customer service.
With Red Hat Consulting and Red Hat Training, HKJC documented and categorized almost 300 workflows, allowing them to identify areas where efficiencies can be improved. HKJC then deployed Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to automate its workflows, freeing up valuable time for employees to focus on higher-value tasks such as customer service.
Its new, standardized environment has helped HKJC streamline processes and better allocate manpower to ensure all workflows are kept up to date. With more time to focus on innovation and customers, the business was able to increase customer satisfaction. Furthermore, new employees are now able to adapt to and follow proper workflows to maintain efficiency.
Provisioning of virtual environments now takes less than three days as compared to more than two weeks. The automation of routine work allowed developers to spend more time on development and less time on deployment.
HKJC also took the opportunity to promote open culture within the organization. Teams involved in the project now have a better understanding of different workflows across departments, which will facilitate communication and collaboration and ultimately catalyze innovation and build business resilience.

As a world-class racing club, efficiency and enterprise-wide collaboration are necessary to move forward in our digital transformation journey to better serve our community. Headquartered in India, Airtel is a leading provider of telecommunications services with over 474 million customers in 18 countries across Asia and Africa. The company ranks amongst the top three mobile operators globally and its network covers over two billion people. Airtel is India’s largest integrated communications solutions provider and the second largest mobile operator in Africa. Airtel’s retail portfolio includes high speed 4G/4.5G mobile broadband, Airtel Xstream Fiber that provides speeds up to 1 Gbps with convergence across linear and on-demand entertainment, streaming services spanning music and video, digital payments and financial services. For enterprise customers, Airtel offers a wide range of solutions that include more secure connectivity, cloud and data centre services, cyber security features, IoT, advertising technology and cloud based communication.
The Indian telecommunications industry continues to be highly competitive. As of March 2021, there were approximately 1.2 billion subscribers in the country, making it the world’s second largest telecommunications market. Subscribers also consume huge amounts of data. The country’s total wireless data usage grew 1.82 percent quarterly to reach 25,227 PB in the third quarter of 2021.To position itself to grow and thrive amid these developments, Airtel transformed its IT architecture with Red Hat.
The telco used Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Smart Management and Red Hat Ceph Storage to take an open hybrid cloud approach, optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and accelerate innovation. With an open cloud architecture, Airtel has reduced cloud implementation time from four weeks to one week, allowing it to expand its core network more quickly to meet increasing mobile demands and launch new digital services like 5G, gaming and remote media production. With Red Hat, Airtel plans to further automate its business processes to enhance business agility and bring more innovative telco services to life.

Tata Motors Limited is a leading global automobile manufacturer of cars, utility vehicles, pick-ups, trucks and buses. Part of the USD 113 billion Tata Group, Tata Motors is the largest and only OEM in India offering an extensive range of integrated, smart and e-mobility solutions. It has operations in India, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia through a strong global network of 103 subsidiaries, 10 associate companies, three joint ventures with Tata MarcoPolo Motors Limited, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery and Fiat Tata, and two joint operations as of March 31, 2020.
Tata Motors realized its System of records (SoR) could not keep up with its growing expectations of digital solutions. Tata Motors needed to develop an API-centric agile integration platform to interface with SoR in order to streamline the onboarding process of dealers, partners and mobility aggregators, create better services and improve revenues. The automobile manufacturer laid a foundation for improved processes and agile delivery of new services using Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat 3Scale API Management, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat AMQ. The automobile manufacturer is now able to provide APIs for its various digital applications for easier integration. Red Hat’s hybrid architecture support also offers Tata Motors the flexibility of moving into the cloud with public cloud providers such as Microsoft or AWS.
Since using the platform, Tata Motors streamlined integration efforts and enabled more use cases to support changing business needs and market conditions. In the next phase, Tata Motors hopes to extend the platform to their connected manufacturing project for Internet of Things (IoT) use cases.

Established as a result of the conversion of PT Bank Sahabat Purba Danarta and the spin-off of BTPN’s Sharia Business Unit, BTPN Syariah was registered as the 12th Sharia Commercial Bank in Indonesia on 14 July 2014.
As the only bank in Indonesia that focuses on serving productive underprivileged families and with a potential target market of more than 40 million people, known as the ‘unbankable’ for their lack of financial track records and legal documentation, BTPN Syariah sees this niche as both a challenge and an opportunity. For this reason, the bank specifically designs its facilities and infrastructures to be different from conventional banking, to ensure effective and efficient products and services for the under-banked. In 2020, BTPN Syariah sought to adopt a new approach to introduce critical applications for its customers as part of its modernization initiative. The bank previously relied on buying suites of applications, but needed a more rapid way to address changing market requirements and demands while reducing costs.
The bank turned to Red Hat to build an agile platform to develop and deploy applications rapidly in an automated and secure manner. Using Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Tower and Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat Middleware (Red Hat 3Scale API Management, Red Hat Process Automation Manager), BTPN Syariah was able to use enterprise-grade containerization and automation capabilities to speed up its application development and innovation.
Overall, the bank’s developers now have a solid foundation to adopt design thinking and agile methodology. Red Hat solutions, with the help of the Bank team’s capabilities, empowered the bank to build digital solutions and increase their speed of development by 70%. BTPN Syariah also rolled out services to deliver better banking experiences. The Bank's digital solutions, which are now containerized, have led to a 25% increase in end-customer satisfaction, as reported by the Bank's Field Officer teams. Ultimately, BTPN Syariah is well positioned to deliver on its mission of supporting the under-banked in order to strengthen financial participation in Indonesia’s fast-growing economy.

PT. Pegadaian (Pegadaian) is a state-owned company in the Indonesian financial sector. The company has three lines of business, namely financing, gold investment and various services (remittances, payments, appraisals) with a focus on retail and micro segments. Pegadaian has 4,085 branches all over Indonesia, serving over 18.6 million consumer and business customers.
To meet its customers’ evolving needs, Pegadaian wanted to build innovative applications with faster time-to-market for business segments like gold savings and investments. The company also wanted a technology platform from which to collaborate with partners and scale services to accommodate customer requests from peak seasons, such as weekends or public holidays.
Using Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server and Red Hat Integration, the company modernized its applications, sped up innovation, and deployed new services faster and more reliably. Developers could improve the delivery speed and relevance of IT services to the business and roll out relevant solutions for customers. For example, Pegadaian built digital capabilities and strengthened the service quality of its pawnshop services so that customers can access pawnshop offerings from the safety of their own home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Red Hat’s solutions also allow Pegadaian to add multiple purchase channels to popular e-commerce portals and integrate with state-owned banks, giving customers a more comprehensive user experience. By transforming itself through digital services and opening up more channels, Pegadaian has been able to extend its reach to support more people and provide better services to its consumers.

(Hitachi) has expertise in control and operation technologies and information technologies for mission-critical systems, in addition to manufacturing technologies accumulated for over 110 years since its foundation. The company launched its Lumada business in 2016, aiming to digitally resolve problems for customers in all industries by providing data-driven solutions and platforms.To support its software development infrastructure and operation environment, Hitachi used Red Hat OpenShift.
As customers use data to accelerate business innovation with Hitachi’s powerful system integration, sales for the Lumada business have already exceeded 1 trillion yen.
Hitachi considers using Red Hat OpenShift CMOS Annealing ”, Hitachi’s unique computing technology for quickly resolving problems by quantum-inspired computers.
Hitachi and Red Hat have also launched a joint team for consultation on the latest development method for Hitachi’s partners and customers. Consultants who have handled mission-critical products and technologies in Hitachi worked together with Red Hat Consulting as part of the Red Hat Professional Services Partner Program to develop services for digital transformation and launched an agile development consulting service and a microservices technical solution to support modernization for enterprise systems.
Hitachi plans to further expand its Lumada business overseas. In particular, we will further expand the business to meet demands in North America to renew old infrastructures in the industrial field leveraging India’s digital resources. We will create new Lumada solutions, increasing added values with digital technology in various fields from information technology to railroad vehicles and medical equipment. In collaboration with Red Hat, we aim to continue to offer high-quality products, services and global business strategies based on Red Hat’s open source practices and in alliance with the open source community.
Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings, Ltd.

Isetan Mitsukoshi Ltd. (Isetan Mitsukoshi) is one of the largest retail groups in Japan. Centering on department store business accounting for approximately 80% of its sales, the company conducts business activities in four segments including credit card, finance and membership business, real estate, and other areas. Presently, Isetan Mitsukoshi has 20 department stores and approximately 130 small- and medium-sized stores in Japan, and a total of 30 stores overseas, mainly in China and Southeast Asia.
Isetan Mitsukoshi has remained committed to customer service for over 350 years. In order to respond to changes in consumer behavior over the past year, Isetan Mitsukoshi started to modernize its mission-critical system, aiming to improve customer experience through digitalization. To support digital services for customers, it is essential to use diverse data in the mission-critical system in a cross-sectoral manner. Isetan Mitsukoshi adopted Red Hat Integration and Red Hat Decision Manager and collaborated with Red Hat Consulting in order to implement an infrastructure system which would enable quicker data extraction and more efficient operation/management. With this new business platform, a unique platform for data utilization, the company was able to more easily take in existing data on customers, purchases, logistics, and stock, etc., and thus, more quickly offer customer services.
For example, Isetan Mitsukoshi introduced a new service for customers called YourFIT365 , an online shoe fitting service that uses a 3D scanner to make shoe recommendations for customers on a tablet computer or a smartphone. Over 15,000 people measured their feet through this service. Furthermore, as the efficiency of infrastructure building and operation was increased through DevOps capabilities, development speed quadrupled and maintenance costs were reduced by 75 percent.
With this new mission-critical system using Red Hat solutions, the IT division, the user division and the sales staff of Isetan Mitsukoshi were able to work together more seamlessly. Accordingly, it became possible to make appropriate proposals faster by using data to address changes in customer behavior in purchasing commodities. Isetan Mitsukoshi aims to continue to provide customers with high quality services by carrying out digital measures more quickly while building ties and relationships with individual customers.
As digitalization has advanced in the retail industry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we needed a platform for realizing business agility while ensuring continuous provision of high-quality customer services as a major department store. Red Hat technology was very useful for the development of services to more quickly respond to constantly changing business environments and customer needs, enabling us to more seamlessly connect physical stores to digital technologies such as internet and applications. Collaborating with Red Hat has helped us realize “the best customer experience” by using, enhancing, and expanding digital technologies. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Red Hat to help us solve a wide range of issues not only for customers, but also employees and various business connections.

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) provides network services such as telephone, optical Internet, Wi-Fi and system integration as a local telecommunications carrier in eastern Japan. NTT East, aiming to resolve various issues faced by local communities through utilization of secure and safe ICT, has regarded AI image analysis as a priority area as the number of network cameras operating in companies and municipalities is increasing.
In order to overcome high introduction costs and lack of technical ability, the company aimed to build a service infrastructure with which AI image analysis features can be easily used at low cost and used more broadly by connecting to its own network. Using assets it has, such as Japan’s large scale network and data centers, the company has worked on the development of services which enable customers all over the nation to use AI readily by establishing the Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) infrastructure and providing various image analysis applications produced by third parties.
For that project, NTT East used Red Hat OpenShift to enable a faster and more frequent application release cycle and establish an environment to facilitate agile development of applications.With the AI image analysis infrastructure built using Red Hat OpenShift, the company could realize increased scalability and accelerate the speed of application releases while reducing costs.
This AI image analysis infrastructure has presently helped companies and other end users analyze images of cameras using the power of AI. NTT East’s AI image analysis also contributed to detecting congestion and the need for medical attention related to COVID-19.
NTT East also plans to release the service to support customer services and store operations in the midst of recent personnel shortages. Then, it has planned to expand services to various fields with themes of enhancement of security of streets and facilities and inspection of products, with an eye to assistance to resolve social issues and increase business possibility.
Amid the rapid increase in remote work, we have prioritized innovation and delivery speed as a Japanese telecommunication carrier. Red Hat solutions enabled us to establish a new service infrastructure which promotes use of AI image analysis features, overcoming barriers of on-premise legacy systems. This service infrastructure has supported customer services of retail stores and congestion analysis, bringing about advantages to not only retail customers but also a wide range of local communities.

Tokio Marine Group is a leading insurance company group engaging in domestic business mainly through Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd., as well as domestic life insurance and overseas insurance businesses. The group has been aiming to become the most trusted insurance group in the world by exceeding customer expectations and providing reliable and stable services. It has been essential for insurance companies to continuously evolve from the conventional business model with the rapid advance of digital technology and ever-changing customer needs. While Tokio Marine Group had improved the speed of its IT development process in order to quickly respond to changing customer needs and technologies, expected results had not been realized in terms of improving business agility. Therefore, the group worked with Red Hat Consulting and participated in a Red Hat Open Innovation Labs residency to adopt agile methodologies as a driver for digital transformation not only in the IT development field but also for business divisions and management. In Red Hat Open Innovation Labs, business issues in client companies are jointly and intensively resolved in close cooperation with Red Hat consultants, engineers and relevant specialists. As a result of this six months collaboration, Tokio Marine Group product owners and development teams developed skills and learned the best practices for agile development.
Only half a year after collaborating with Red Hat Consulting, Tokio Marine Group made a management decision to implement a framework, budgets, resources and improved organizational structures and processes to engage in enterprise agile development. As a result, the group was able to deliver nine new insurance services in a year, improving the overall agility of the business.
Through this project, the Tokio Marine Group was able to begin the transformation of its corporate culture in order to push ahead with agile management initiatives across the entire group. In collaboration with Red Hat Consulting, Tokio Marine Group is also extending Red Hat agile training for the management team and other support to group companies overseas.

With a population of 2.5 million, Daegu is the third largest metropolitan city in Korea. The city provides IT services to its citizens through an open source software-based private cloud.
To achieve its goal of enhancing its public services, Daegu Metropolitan City has planned a long term cloud initiative, D-Cloud (Daegu Cloud). The project aims to migrate its legacy infrastructure to the cloud in order to support the local government’s increasing workloads and improve efficiency within their administrative task system.
The city deployed multiple Red Hat solutions to power this project over five years, including Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, and Red Hat OpenStack Platform. This year, the city deployed Red Hat OpenShift to build a software-defined data center cloud environment. Collectively, the solutions provided Daegu City the flexibility needed to build a more stable, efficient infrastructure that helped improve delivery speed of IT services to its citizens and reduce costs by 36%. These new standards set for its cloud data centers also help attract new business and job opportunities in the city. This will help bring a positive impact to the overall application development environment, boosting open source innovation, with vendor lock-in out of the way.
The project has also given the city the opportunity to embrace open technology and adapt quickly to a rapidly changing IT environment. With Red Hat’s solutions, the city is better equipped to continually evolve to attract investments from companies and adopt current and upcoming technology trends like automation.
Our citizens’ lives have changed dramatically in the past two years thanks to digital technologies. Affiliated with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), LH develops, maintains and manages land, housing and cities. It aims to improve quality of life and the national economy by creating stable housing for the country’s citizens and efficiently utilizing national land. The company has also recently started providing cloud-based IT services in areas such as smart cities and renewable energy.
To help address and solve local government’s urban problems through use of data, LH developed a platform, COMPAS, that allows citizens to contribute ideas and solutions to address local urban problems. COMPAS collects, processes and analyzes big data to identify problems and the best solutions. As such, LH needed a stable and flexible open source platform to help increase its overall capability with managed cloud infrastructure, such as its operating systems (OS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
LH deployed Red Hat OpenShift to build a standardized development platform. The open source platform helped them to expand over various cloud and data analysis environments. By adopting a more stable and agile architecture for user model development, LH was able to launch their service faster than anticipated while also reducing costs.
With Red Hat’s support, the COMPAS platform has made it possible for LH to use open source to provide an enhanced user experience for its citizens. As it continues to aid local governments in providing solutions for urban problems, LH’s COMPAS also made it possible for it to adapt to a rapidly changing IT environment and follow open standards. It plans to implement the COMPAS system into various smart city projects and use similar open models for DevOps and data integration projects.
The COMPAS project has played a key role in helping us successfully address urban issues in an efficient, flexible and timely manner. Red Hat’s solutions have enabled us to drive digital transformation and help futureproof not just our internal systems, but the living standards of our citizens as well. Bursa Malaysia is the stock exchange of Malaysia and one of the largest bourses in ASEAN. It operates and regulates a fully integrated exchange that offers a comprehensive range of exchange-related facilities such as listing, trading, clearing, settlement and depository services.
Bursa Malaysia was looking to implement an agile integration platform to support its Central Depository System (CDS) eServices application, Bursa Anywhere, which would allow its nearly two million retail investors to view and manage their accounts in one, unified platform.
To build the foundation of the application, Bursa Malaysia deployed Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat AMQ, Red Hat 3Scale API Management, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat Virtualization to develop a reliable, scalable and flexible platform. Collectively, Red Hat open source solutions have allowed Bursa Malaysia to scale its post-trading and public listed company announcement integration services, connect disparate applications and services, as well as reduce the time to market for the services by 20 percent.
With its enhanced agility and efficiency, Bursa Malaysia was able to continuously improve and update the application with new features, which contributed nearly 10 percent of the total number of CDS accounts opened since 2020. Greater market participation from a broader range of audience segments in Malaysia is key to Bursa Malaysia’s sustainability and contributes to a thriving economy. Since its launch in 2019, Bursa Anywhere now has nearly 211,000 users.
An enhanced hybrid cloud infrastructure allowed Bursa to improve business resilience by delivering more innovative and competitive services, while adapting to changes in legislation and technological advancements in an agile manner.
With the rise of IR 4.0, we wanted to encourage young, innovative tech-based companies to invest in us. Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the largest electricity utility in Malaysia and a leading utility company in Asia with an international presence in seven additional countries. The company serves 10.08 million customers across its various portfolios. Its activities include the generation and supply of electricity, as well as maintaining power plants, engineering and construction services, coal mining and trading.
The global energy sector is seeing continued economic shifts, technology disruptions, increasing pressure for cost efficiency and competitive intensity from regulators. To keep up with changing market needs and improve cost control, TNB needed a flexible and efficient cloud-driven platform that was also compliant with data transparency and security requirements.
With the support of Red Hat Consulting, TNB was also able to better plan and design the project by taking into account its existing capabilities and understanding of the topic. Together, the teams worked to identify technical difficulties and the crucial integration points to solve during presales, which provided its management with confidence in the project.
TNB deployed Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to aggregate and manage its cloud infrastructure from different providers. Red Hat’s technology has enabled TNB to standardize their resource provisioning base, better track their asset management, and eliminate repetitive tasks for asset registration. Whereas previously, provisioning an environment would take 3-4 days, with the help of the updated platform TNB can now do this within hours. The platform has ultimately allowed TNB to automate menial and repetitive tasks, eliminate resource wastage, and improve time to market.
Additionally, TNB’s improved governance and compliance capabilities also enabled it to predict and identify specific areas of non-compliance, which the team could quickly rectify, saving valuable time and financial resources.

The National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) is one of the eight national-level research laboratories under National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs), headquartered at Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. NCHC developed the Taiwania supercomputer series, providing local academia and industry with world-class high performance computing (HPC) services and AI high speed compute resources, combined with big data analytics, to support scientific research.
In 2020, the NCHC of NARLabs developed an AI Cloud, E-Learning Gateway, to provide a high-quality environment for high-performance computing and smart application technology implementation and assist education institutions in preparing students for a digital future. This equips students with skills in areas such as data analytics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, IoT and 5G. To support the demands of such technical fields, the NCHC of NARLabs provides more flexible high performance computing (HPC), storage and networking, accelerating the deployment of a cloud-enabled education environment.
The NCHC of NARLabs used Red Hat OpenShift to build a cloud environment dedicated to the education sector that could improve the computing efficiency and services for educational institutions in real time. The center upgraded from its previous platform to help overcome complex upgrade processes and potential security risks. With a high-performance education cloud that is robust and reliable, NCHC of NARLabs is able to automate installation, upgrades, and lifecycle management throughout the container stack on any cloud with improved security features at every level. The platform’s ability to automate continuous updates reduces NCHC of NARLabs’ maintenance costs and manpower needs by a third. NCHC of NARLabs can help deliver better education experiences to Taiwanese students by provisioning compute, storage and networking resources more seamlessly to institutions.

Its services include deposit, loan, foreign exchange, trust, credit card summary, internet banking, wealth management and related financial services.
As the Taiwanese banking landscape becomes more digital, Taiwan Business Bank wanted to stay ahead by enhancing customer experience in digital financial services and accelerate their time to market for new offerings. The bank formed a digital transformation committee to modernize their online banking solutions and mobile banking initiatives. The new architecture uses microservices to transform the bank's legacy systems with a platform that allows comprehensive support for more complex workloads.
With the help of Red Hat Consulting’s expertise in agile development, the bank decided to implement Red Hat OpenShift to drive microservice management, which allowed its IT teams to standardize application deployment flow. It has helped over 20 members of the infrastructure team by allowing them to provision IT environments seamlessly, offering better customer experience. In addition, when holding large-scale events in the past, the system often experienced high traffic when the number of users exceeded system load. Red Hat OpenShift’s microservice management is capable of scaling related services automatically and flexibly orchestrate system resources to achieve uninterrupted financial services.

Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) is the fifth largest bank in Thailand in terms of assets, loans, and deposits and one of Thailand’s six Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) with over 76 years of history in the country. Krungsri is a strategic member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan’s largest financial group and one of the world’s largest financial organizations.
To reinforce its leadership in Thailand’s digital banking market under the medium-term business plan covering 2021-2023, Krungsri wanted to improve, innovate and enhance its customer experience by taking its digital transformation journey to the next level. As part of its digitalization program, Krungsri worked to create a robust, secure and easy-to-connect system to drive its overall partner ecosystem growth. The bank had to move beyond its legacy applications to containerized applications using a microservices architecture. To achieve success, Krungsri required a mature platform with best practises for a smooth journey to containerization.
Krungsri collaborated with Red Hat and IBM GBS to create an open banking API platform to power a unique API ecosystem across the region. The bank deployed Red Hat OpenShift, giving the bank the robustness and security hardening it required for zero downtime deployment. This also shortened its end-to-end product development lifecycle by 50 percent.
As a result, Krungsri can now quickly create and deliver new applications and services through the adoption of a cloud-native architecture and containerization. With a microservices platform powered by Red Hat, Krungsri is better positioned to adopt DevSecOps best practices to drive a culture of automation and transformation. It looks to further remove barriers that prohibit productivity and integration to create new user experiences.

KTBCS is a subsidiary of Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited and recognized as a leading IT Service provider in the banking and public sector industries. KTBCS provides infrastructure services, leasing spaces for computer system installation and computer operation, system integration services, as well as IT consulting services.
KTBCS had to help its parent company, Krung Thai Bank (KTB), move to the cloud. In response to the Ministry of Finance’s mandate to upgrade and strengthen banks’ public service, KTB wanted to build a digital platform to improve their banking offerings to customers while maintaining control over cost. Using Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ceph Storage, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, KTBCS helped KTB build a private cloud to host new digital applications while optimizing their return on investment.
The private cloud by KTBCS allowed KTB to accelerate the bank’s time-to-market for digital services and ensure the availability and security of digital applications. KTB has cut down development cycle time from weeks to days. Furthermore, KTB also eliminated time-consuming manual procedures, such as IT environment production and installation, saving up to 50 percent in costs and manpower on core business applications such as their global transaction application and the employee application One Krungthai. KTB’s infrastructure is also now agile enough to scale for increased workloads or future business growth requirements.
Building on this momentum, KTBCS plans to adopt this technology for future digitalized applications and government agencies workloads. With Red Hat, KTBCS is confident that it has the capabilities to build the national private cloud for Thai’s government agencies.
