Tambla Workforce Solutions Digital Transformation
Tambla provides intelligent workforce solutions to organizations with large “shift-based” essential workforces. They work with enterprise companies and government organizations across a range of sectors – to provide industry leading, intelligent HR technology solutions that help to optimize the management and payment of their essential workers. One of Tambla’s key solutions is the processing of payroll for hundreds of thousands of health workers each pay period.
Tambla inherited an aging platform through a business acquisition that was slow and in need of improvement. To deliver performance optimization across these data processing-intensive payroll services, Tambla turned to Advent One, a Red Hat Premier Partner, who designed and quickly deployed a solution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat Satellite. As a result, Tambla saved months of migration effort and delivered huge efficiency gains. Processes that previously took six hours now take an hour or less to complete and the new solution delivered improved security functionality and availability of these critical services customers rely on to run their businesses.

Suncorp is one of Australia's largest financial services companies offering a diverse portfolio of insurance and banking products and services through some of Australia and New Zealand's most recognized financial brands. Through the adoption of Red Hat open source technologies, Suncorp is able to respond to the changing business needs faster.
Suncorp prioritized the delivery of digital-first and personalized experiences for its customers as part of its strategic effort to modernize their enterprise technologies and drive further business growth. To create these new customer experiences, Suncorp needed a reliable multi-cloud development platform that could enable their developers to build new applications quickly and sustainably at a low cost. For doing this, Suncorp implemented Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) to build an integrated development platform that allowed developers to build secure and scalable applications quickly while complying to financial security standards.

Unicom Digital Tech Co., LTD. (Unicom Digital Tech) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Unicom. In the field of digital transformation, it specializes in "cloud & network integration, leading digital & intelligence, security and reliability, and personalized service", and has built six innovative basic platform capabilities. To create more value for customers, they continue to be committed to promoting the high-quality development of China's digital economy, enabling the digital transformation of government and enterprise customers, and becoming the "national team" and "main force" of digital China construction.
For enterprises with huge systems, digital transformation is often faced with problems of systematization, integrity and coordination, which requires that the corresponding digital transformation schemes should be both effective and stable. Using Kubevirt, an open source project of which Red Hat is a leading contributor, China Unicom built an agile virtual machine and Kubernetes on a cloud dual-engine base making Unicom Cloud, the digital transformation computing power engine, more agile, cost-effective and fast. Relying on the best practices of Unicom Cloud central enterprises' large scale cloud native, and absorbing the cloud native experience of the open source community, the dual engine of virtualization and cloud native enables multi-industry business innovation and provides the integrated computing network service of connection, perception, computing and intelligence, helping to improve the supervision efficiency of state-owned central enterprises and high-quality development of central enterprises to drive the construction of digital China with Unicom cloud native.
China Unicom sees the potential of using open source to expand our competitive advantage, and we have worked closely with Red Hat to provide Unicom Cloud with new technological innovations and practical experience in cloud native. Using Kubevirt, China Unicom built an agile virtual machine and Kubernetes on cloud dual-engine base, which allows us to provide more agile deployment speed, lower cost and easier management mode, and improve the unified computing power engine capability of Unicom Cloud to undertake large computing services. By building a security-focused, reliable and powerful base to facilitate industrial digital transformation, Unicom can continue to empower thousands of industries by giving full play to its mission of cloud computing national team and digital transformation computing power engine.

Geely Automobile Group is a leading automobile manufacturer in China and a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. Headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Geely Holding has established research and development (R&D) and design centers globally in Shanghai, Ningbo, Gothenburg, Barcelona, California, Frankfurt, Kuala Lumpur, etc., with more than 20,000 R&D and design personnel. To pull ahead in the competitive automotive market, Geely sought to leverage open source technology, namely containers and Kubernetes. Working with Red Hat, Geely deployed Red Hat OpenShift to support its hybrid cloud infrastructure, which includes a private data center, on-premise and public cloud, to meet business needs through an out-of-the-box Platform-as-a-Service platform. With Red Hat OpenShift, Geely can more rapidly and flexibly scale business services based on traffic and accelerate service iteration with CI/CD to meet the market demand for rapid response. In addition, Red Hat OpenShift provided Geely with unified management of multiple Kubernetes clusters and unified governance of container lifecycle security. Using Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes, applications on Red Hat OpenShift and multiple public cloud Kubernetes platforms can adhere to a “shift left” mindset with end-to-end security controls to build, deploy and run applications and implement DevSecOps in the cloud native domain.

Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co. LtdHybrid Cloud Infrastructure
Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, Mindray is a leading global provider of medical equipment and solutions that has 52 overseas subsidiaries in about 40 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. The company has 21 subsidiaries and nearly 40 branches in China. Mindray has established a research and development (R&D)innovation platform based on global resources with nine R&D centers in Shenzhen, Wuhan, Nanjing, Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Europe, Silicon Valley, New Jersey and Seattle, creating a global R&D, marketing and service network.
With the rapid development of the healthcare industry under the epidemic, IT departments need to establish an efficient, low-cost and agile internal development architecture to support the needs of global users. At the same time, it is necessary to build a comprehensive platform, easier to use user interface, and provide more efficient performance support at the business level. Mindray needed a hybrid cloud solution capable of providing a consistent foundation across global operations that could meet the company's evolving needs. With the help of Red Hat Consulting, Mindray built a cloud-native platform for overseas asset management applications using Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS. Through the platform, Mindray can more effectively manage its 30 overseas fixed asset businesses located in the European Union and ROW regions.
Our overseas asset management applications are running on Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS to help realize the rapid data synchronization between public cloud and private cloud. Mindray’s cloud native platform also realizes the transformation of microservices, reduces the coupling of the system, and improves the high availability, disaster recovery and load capacity of the system. We look forward to further working with Red Hat to enable open hybrid cloud and automated operations.
FTLife LimitedDigital Transformation
FTLife is one of the leading providers of life insurance products in Hong Kong. The company provides a wide range of insurance and financial planning services for individuals and institutions. Its vision is to continuously strengthen long-term relationships with customers and offer innovative financial planning solutions and professional services.
In 2020, the insurance company embarked on a customer experience transformation initiative, which includes the launch of the K-Dollar reward points program. FTLife turned to Red Hat solutions, such as Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, to build agility into its processes and accelerate the delivery of IT services and applications. Red Hat’s open source approach helped FTLife overcome the limitations of traditional application development methods, helping teams build the K-Dollar application faster and minimizing human error through better collaboration. FTLife plans to replicate K-Dollar’s success by using its development blueprint for future customer experience initiatives.
Cathay Pacific Airways LimitedDigital Transformation

Cathay Pacific was founded in Hong Kong in 1946. The Group has been deeply committed to its home base for more than 75 years and remains so, making substantial investments to develop Hong Kong as one of the world’s leading international aviation centers. Cathay Pacific, with its subsidiaries HK Express and Air Hong Kong, was the world’s eighth-largest carrier of international passengers, and the third-largest carrier of international air cargo prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to IATA’s 2019 World Air Transport Statistics.
The Hong Kong airline had to enhance its operational agility to adapt to changes in the aviation industry caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. To stay ahead of the market, it needed an IT model that could handle fluctuating passenger demands. The company leveraged open source solutions like Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to build a multi-cloud hybrid environment and applications using an agile container strategy. With Red Hat solutions, Cathay Pacific has reduced the operational costs of managing on-premises infrastructure and slashed capital expenditures for new servers. With the freeing of IT teams to focus on developing innovative customer-facing applications and solutions, the airline is able to better handle fluctuating demand.
Axis BankDigital Transformation
Axis Bank, India's third largest private sector bank offers a full spectrum of financial services, including retail, corporate and international banking. Its customer segment includes large and mid-corporates, MSME, agriculture and retail businesses. The bank has a large footprint of 4,758 domestic branches (including extension counters) with 10,990 ATMs and 5,972 cash recyclers spread across the country as on 31st March 2022.
Axis Bank's vision is to be the preferred financial solutions provider that offers exceptional customer experiences through providing valuable insights, empowering employees and adapting smart use of technology. To help achieve this vision, Axis Bank has leveraged Red Hat solutions including Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform and Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Storage to drive its customer experience and business productivity to new heights. Owing to the agility to track customer feedback and tailor new services, the bank’s mobile app rating is upgraded from 4.2 to 4.8 (highest rating for Banking App in India) on Google Play. The bank has rolled out 20 updates per year through its digital services, such aslike online and WhatsApp banking, which has increased by 5 times.

Grameenphone, part of the Telenor Group, is the largest telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh connecting more than 83 million customers to what matters most to them. With over 22 years of operations in Bangladesh, Grameenphone has provided telecoms services and digital solutions for various industries including education, information, entertainment, commerce, services, healthcare and other social needs. The company takes an active role in enabling innovation and building the digital ecosystem in Bangladesh.
Mobile subscriptions and services in Bangladesh have grown exponentially, from 130 million subscribers in 2016 to close to 180 million to date. To leverage the increasing amount of data available and accelerate their digital transformation journey, Grameenphone worked with Red Hat to deploy solutions like Red Hat OpenStack, OpenShift and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to drive better customer experience, reduce costs and improve efficiency.

IndiGo is India’s leading airline with the largest domestic market share of 57.7% as of August 2022. The airline has a strong foothold in India and international markets with over 1600 daily flights connecting 74 domestic destinations and 26 international destinations. IndiGo has strategically partnered with Red Hat solutions to enhance customer experience. IndiGo chose Red Hat solutions like Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Fuse.
Furthermore, the airline has also saved over USD6.5 million in fuel costs yearly thanks to its ability to integrate services and data for better decision-making and flight schedule optimization.

PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk or Bank Mandiri, headquartered in Jakarta, is the largest bank in Indonesia by total assets. Bank Mandiri provides services in the Corporate, Commercial, Micro & SME, Consumer Banking, Treasury and International Banking segments. As of September 2022, Bank Mandiri network consisted of 4,011 branches in Indonesia, including 1,641 micro channels and 7 branches/representative offices/subsidiaries overseas. It has also been operating 13,034 ATM units (connected to the ATM Link, ATM Bersama, ATM Prima dan Visa/Plus networks), and EDC machines, in addition to offering a range of other electronic channels, including Livin’ By Mandiri and call-center 14000.
Bank Mandiri’s vision is to be the premier bank in Indonesia by delivering exceptional customer service, innovative products and greater security. By leveraging Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux , Bank Mandiri has successfully launched large scale deployments of mission critical systems such as Livin’ by Mandiri, and raised the efficiency of various of its processes. Bank Mandiri has achieved greater availability and stability for Livin’ services with auto scaling capabilities. The bank’s microservices and APIs now perform around 9,000 requests per second—and has experienced up to 12,000 requests per second during seasonal traffic peaks.
Working with Red Hat has empowered our bank to accelerate our digital transformation. The open source capabilities of Red Hat solutions have improved customer engagement and service personalization. Our customers can now bank faster and more effectively with enhanced services like our mobile app. We can continue to deliver exceptional experiences to all our customers while also enjoying increased efficiency across the organization.
BPJS KesehatanCloud-Native Development
BPJS Kesehatan (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial Kesehatan, Health Social Security Agency) is a social security agency of Indonesia aimed at providing universal healthcare to its citizens. BPJS Kesehatan is one of two social security agencies in the country.
Digital experiences are reshaping how patients and providers in healthcare interact. To improve customer experience, BPJS Kesehatan adopted a cloud-native approach by deploying Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux . By implementing an e-queue service on its mobile app and physical kiosks at the hospital, patient experience was enhanced by reducing the time patients needed to wait before seeing a doctor. Red Hat solutions also enabled BPJS Kesehatan to be faster to market with feature rollouts on its mobile app, reducing the agency’s development and deployment time.
Customers are demanding more efficient and personalized services from their healthcare providers. Partnering with Red Hat to deploy open source solutions have enabled us to reshape our patients’ and providers’ experiences and offer more innovative services through our mobile app and hospital kiosks. Patients get to enjoy these personalized services faster as open source has allowed us to fast track the addition of new features to our mobile app.
NTT DOCOMO, INC. Digital Transformation
After more than 30 years of operation and business expansion, NTT DOCOMO’s cell phone service system had become extremely complex causing operational difficulties. In order to maintain and enhance the competitiveness of the network in the future, it was necessary to reduce operational costs, modernize applications and apply a microservices architecture.
NTT DOCOMO welcomed Red Hat to its team in order to quickly deliver industry-standard development methodologies and exceptional technical expertise in the use of microservices and container environments. The team at NTT DOCOMO and Red Hat achieved a 52% reduction in source code and a 75% reduction in the number of operational screens, resulting in increased productivity. In addition, OpenShift has enabled NTT DOCOMO to update its IT infrastructure and create a system that enables them to develop applications efficiently and operate with agility. As a result, NTT DOCOMO has been able to shorten its release cycle by about half compared to the past. NTT DOCOMO will continue to promote DX and pursue efficiency in its telecommunications business.
NTT DOCOMO aims to create new customer experiences and value that exceeds expectations through the enhancement of 5G's high-quality and economical network. To achieve this, it will be necessary to upgrade and streamline IT infrastructure facilities, including mobile-fixed convergence networks, promote DX, and reform legacy systems. Legacy systems present a wide variety of challenges, but we continue to take action to solve them. Red Hat is a great partner to help us overcome such legacy barriers.
NTT DOCOMO, INC.
NEC Corporation Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure
NTT DOCOMO, INC. (NTT DOCOMO), Japan's largest telecommunications operator, provides innovative, convenient, and secure mobile services to deliver a smarter lifestyle to its more than 80 million customers. As the use of new technologies such as 5G expands, NTT DOCOMO is working to enhance its services by introducing next-generation infrastructure, new technologies and 5G Standalone (SA) architecture while pursuing quality and price. The company's requirements for 5G Core (5GC) were robustness, reliability, and stability. Other stringent requirements for 5G Core included nationwide deployment of a 5G service network in a short period of time.
To ensure a successful implementation and deployment rollout of their 5G SA plan, NTT DOCOMO needed a trusted partner who could adhere to their timelines and provide high quality service releases. Therefore, the company selected a 5G core solution provided by NEC Corporation ("NEC"), a global leader in IT and networking. This solution is developed with a cloud-native architecture and designed to run on a container infrastructure, it has a proven track record of adoption in both private and public clouds. NEC has adopted Red Hat OpenShift and integrated it as a mobile service infrastructure to achieve the robustness, reliability, and stability required by telecommunications carriers. The 5G core solution developed through close collaboration between NEC and Red Hat is now in operation in NTT DOCOMO's 5G commercial service.
With this adoption, NTT DOCOMO has achieved scalable and optimal resource control of its 5G infrastructure, enabling faster deployment of its 5G SA plans while reducing operational and resource costs.
We have launched a 5G network using the stand-alone (SA) method, which demonstrates the true value of 5G. Red Hat's open source technology combined with NEC contributed greatly to the introduction of the ’5G core’ required to provide SA services, improving operational stability and fault tolerance. We also believe that by balancing the existing network with new technologies, we have established flexibility for the future. Together with NEC and Red Hat, and other trusted partners, we sincerely look forward to providing our customers with new solutions and excitement in the 5G era.
We are honored to receive this award in recognition of our achievements in using Red Hat OpenShift for NTT DOCOMO's 5G core network business. The NEC Group aims to ’focus on business globally, including Japan,’ and has designated global 5G business as a priority area for business growth. We believe that collaboration with a global open source technology company like Red Hat can be a factor in ensuring the realization of this goal, and we look forward to supporting NTT DOCOMO's expansion of 5G services and contributing to the further development of next-generation mobile infrastructure, including the global market.
Nomura Research Institute (NRI) Digital Transformation Automation
Nomura Research Institute has been contributing to the creation of a sustainable society by solving social and client issues and creating new social value through its consulting, IT solutions and other services. The company defines “DX2.0“ as DX that goes beyond DX by contributing to the transformation of the operation process and business model itself and “DX3.0“ as DX that solves social issues and achieves paradigm transformation, while also supporting its clients by investing resources in consulting and IT services.
NRI decided to renew its operation infrastructure using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform because the company determined that it was necessary to create a new framework based on automation not only in the conventional infrastructure operation process, but also in the construction and operation phases to promote DX. In implementing Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, the company's goal was to create a new automation strategy that would continue from the build phase to the operations phase and beyond. With this, NRI has started an initiative to create a cycle of repeated small successes while setting goals and sharing a common understanding of problems and issues toward automation, and creating a common understanding of the concept of "Automation 2.0" advocated by Red Hat and the know-how of the technology from the perspective of engineers and management at the frontline level.
Currently, automation is being implemented partly in the construction phase, but NRI aims to expand it to the maintenance and operation phases to fully automate common tasks across multiple projects. NRI plans to continue contributing to the transformation of system operations in Japan based on the knowledge gained through its activities.

Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute (KLID) Digital Transformation
KLID is a Korean government institution that aims to enhance the country’s administrative efficiency by developing, distributing and managing common information systems that are compliant with national standards. KLID provides over 100 digital services for local government and citizens across Korea, and operates a cyber-infringement response center and digital policies support program for local government as well. KLID also supports local governments’ financial management and tax information systems, developing informatization policies and conducting relevant investigation and research.
Korea’s local governments were experiencing regular system disruptions, data management limitations and operational and cost inefficiencies brought about by outdated data management systems. To address these issues and uplift their public service delivery standards, KLID developed a next-generation cloud-based administrative work system to reform their local governments’ tax and revenue administration processes. KLID built this system using open source cloud management solutions like Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to stabilize their systems and to accelerate work processes. KLID’s new system is expected to boost their productivity, reducing the time for tasks such as processing national taxes from several days to just a few hours. With the new system’s technical benefits, KLID can now explore new technologies such as artificial intelligence to optimize their administrative processes.
The KLID has adopted the cloud to fundamentally improve services such as the end-of-term workload and property tax processing in the current system. Red Hat's open-source cloud management solution allowed us to develop a DevOps-based business system, distribution (CI/CD) and operating system to secure the foundation for digital innovation. Red Hat's open source cloud management solutions are expected to become a vital system for delivering stable financial and tax payment services to citizens and local administrations in the future.
Lotte Card Digital Transformation
Lotte Card is a South Korean credit card company founded by the Lotte Corporation, the largest distribution and varied service network in the country. Established in December 2002, Lotte Card issues credit cards, payment plans, leasing, loans, and cash advance options to over nine-million people nationwide and employs over 1,700 individuals.
In 2020, the South Korean government introduced the MyData program to help citizens better manage their finances by allowing access to financial data from different institutions on a single platform, which required the transmission of personal credit information across financial institutions. Lotte Card was keen to support MyData in order to maintain their overall market competitiveness, but required new applications to optimize their system’s performance and comply with data regulations. Lotte Card turned to open source solutions Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform with Integration, Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to form the new base system of their finance platform, and integrate it reliably with external financial systems.
This year, Lotte Card has positioned themselves as a ‘digital curating company’, continuously accelerating in providing new digital services and cloud migration. As a result, their monthly active users are expected to surpass 4 million users within this year.
Lotte Card was keen to support the government’s MyData Program, due to the immense benefits it provided to our end users. However, our existing applications and systems needed an uplift to optimize its performance and ensure compliance with new security regulations. Red Hat’s open source solutions provided the right fit to form the new base of our systems, and offered us capabilities to address our customers’ needs for the safety and protection of their financial data. This has allowed us to actively participate in the program, and deliver an improved user experience to our customers.
Bank Islam Automation
Bank Islam is a Malaysian financial institution driven by a purpose to create opportunities and make lives better for everyone. Bank Islam offers end-to-end financial solutions to fulfil the diverse needs of their customers and provides platforms for stakeholders, including their people, investors and communities, to prosper. As the leading and pioneering Islamic bank in Malaysia, Bank Islam brings a unique perspective to the financial landscape and is committed to nurturing responsible growth and progress.
To fulfil its mission, Bank Islam delivers a high level of satisfaction for their customers through their digital banking services and solutions. To provide business continuity for its digital banking platforms while also minimising the resources incurred and downtime, Bank Islam needed to carry out legacy disaster recovery and failover procedures. Bank Islam also decided to automate their IT service delivery to accelerate business operations with reduced risk, addressing their user experience, downtime and resource challenges. They leveraged a variety of open source solutions including, Red Hat Ansible, Red Hat Enterprise Linux along with services from Red Hat Training and Certification and Red Hat Consulting to automate key IT service operations and to strengthen their system’s overall resilience. The implementation of Red Hat’s automation solutions has reduced system downtimes, improved customer retention, and also freed up their IT teams to focus on producing new and innovative products for customers.

IHiS - Integrated Health Information Systems Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure
IHiS is a leading healthcare technology firm that integrates resilient, intelligent, secure and cost-effective technology with people and processes to make healthcare more efficient, inclusive, accessible and safer for patients. This principle guided IHiS during the development of their new Common Consumer Digital Platform (CCDP), which provides relevant back-end services for Singapore residents, including patients of the three main public healthcare groups in Singapore (SingHealth, National University Health System and National Healthcare Group) in their efforts to digitize, engage, and share healthcare information easily with patients through customized apps that deliver regional health programmes.
IHiS used open source solution Red Hat OpenShift (ROSA) to build the CCDP on a commercial cloud environment, which reduced the platform’s operational costs and ensured its flexibility to handle fluctuating demands. With ROSA, IHiS has achieved time savings for their teams in the design, set up and operation of the microservices platform for all consumer facing channel applications. This frees up overall resources to develop innovative user applications as well as reduce security, operation and maintenance overheads, thereby paving the way for future application modernization efforts.
As one of the major healthcare technology solutions providers in Singapore, IHiS is committed to delivering positive experiences for both healthcare institutions and patients while maintaining agility and cost effectiveness. The Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation (THSRC) manages the Taiwan High Speed Rail, consisting of one line that runs approximately 220 miles along the west coast of Taiwan, from the capital Taipei to the southern city of Kaohsiung. When it was built in 1998, it was one of the world's largest privately funded rail construction schemes and cost over NT$513 billion.
The THSRC is facing an increase in passenger demand from today’s digital customers. For instance, the number of high-speed rail tickets searched for through mobile phones increased significantly, negatively impacting the speed and stability of the ticketing systems and resulting in longer passenger wait times. To improve business agility and the customer experience, THSRC modernized its core systems with Red Hat® OpenShift® and Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform. To enhance their cloud business, China Mobile Group Guangdong hopes to adjust and protect cloud infrastructure more quickly through automated operation and maintenance. With the help of Red Hat Consulting, the telecommunications company aimed to reduce the complexity of their applications and environments, meet demanding customer SLAs and free up resources for business innovation. After adopting Red Hat OpenShift, Hisense reduced the time spent manually setting up the environment from 3 days to 1 hour, greatly shortened the system construction cycle, increased resource utilization by more than 60%, and ultimately reduced the overall cost and significantly improved IT agility. Red Hat Consulting services also helped the team ensure that the project implementation followed the correct process in the system architecture design to meet quality and schedule requirements.
With increased agility and efficiency, reduced costs and faster project delivery, the platform has made a positive impact on Hisense’s various business units and departments. The Hong Kong Jockey Club wished to remediate legacy issues to enhance efficiencies, as well as save time and costs on repetitive tasks, in order to focus on providing the best possible customer service.
With Red Hat Consulting and Red Hat Training, HKJC documented and categorized almost 300 workflows, allowing them to identify areas where efficiencies can be improved. HKJC then deployed Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to automate its workflows, freeing up valuable time for employees to focus on higher-value tasks such as customer service.
Its new, standardized environment has helped HKJC streamline processes and better allocate manpower to ensure all workflows are kept up to date. With more time to focus on innovation and customers, the business was able to increase customer satisfaction. Furthermore, new employees are now able to adapt to and follow proper workflows to maintain efficiency.
Provisioning of virtual environments now takes less than three days as compared to more than two weeks. The automation of routine work allowed developers to spend more time on development and less time on deployment.

Tata Motors realized its System of records (SoR) could not keep up with its growing expectations of digital solutions. Tata Motors needed to develop an API-centric agile integration platform to interface with SoR in order to streamline the onboarding process of dealers, partners and mobility aggregators, create better services and improve revenues. The automobile manufacturer laid a foundation for improved processes and agile delivery of new services using Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat 3Scale API Management, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat AMQ. The automobile manufacturer is now able to provide APIs for its various digital applications for easier integration. Isetan Mitsukoshi Ltd. (Isetan Mitsukoshi) is one of the largest retail groups in Japan. Centering on department store business accounting for approximately 80% of its sales, the company conducts business activities in four segments including credit card, finance and membership business, real estate, and other areas. Presently, Isetan Mitsukoshi has 20 department stores and approximately 130 small- and medium-sized stores in Japan, and a total of 30 stores overseas, mainly in China and Southeast Asia.
Isetan Mitsukoshi has remained committed to customer service for over 350 years. In order to respond to changes in consumer behavior over the past year, Isetan Mitsukoshi started to modernize its mission-critical system, aiming to improve customer experience through digitalization. To support digital services for customers, it is essential to use diverse data in the mission-critical system in a cross-sectoral manner. Isetan Mitsukoshi adopted Red Hat Integration and Red Hat Decision Manager and collaborated with Red Hat Consulting in order to implement an infrastructure system which would enable quicker data extraction and more efficient operation/management. With this new business platform, a unique platform for data utilization, the company was able to more easily take in existing data on customers, purchases, logistics, and stock, etc., and thus, more quickly offer customer services.
For example, Isetan Mitsukoshi introduced a new service for customers called YourFIT365 , an online shoe fitting service that uses a 3D scanner to make shoe recommendations for customers on a tablet computer or a smartphone. Over 15,000 people measured their feet through this service. Furthermore, as the efficiency of infrastructure building and operation was increased through DevOps capabilities, development speed quadrupled and maintenance costs were reduced by 75 percent.
With this new mission-critical system using Red Hat solutions, the IT division, the user division and the sales staff of Isetan Mitsukoshi were able to work together more seamlessly. Accordingly, it became possible to make appropriate proposals faster by using data to address changes in customer behavior in purchasing commodities. Isetan Mitsukoshi aims to continue to provide customers with high quality services by carrying out digital measures more quickly while building ties and relationships with individual customers.

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) provides network services such as telephone, optical Internet, Wi-Fi and system integration as a local telecommunications carrier in eastern Japan. NTT East, aiming to resolve various issues faced by local communities through utilization of secure and safe ICT, has regarded AI image analysis as a priority area as the number of network cameras operating in companies and municipalities is increasing.
In order to overcome high introduction costs and lack of technical ability, the company aimed to build a service infrastructure with which AI image analysis features can be easily used at low cost and used more broadly by connecting to its own network. Using assets it has, such as Japan’s large scale network and data centers, the company has worked on the development of services which enable customers all over the nation to use AI readily by establishing the Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) infrastructure and providing various image analysis applications produced by third parties.
For that project, NTT East used Red Hat OpenShift to enable a faster and more frequent application release cycle and establish an environment to facilitate agile development of applications.With the AI image analysis infrastructure built using Red Hat OpenShift, the company could realize increased scalability and accelerate the speed of application releases while reducing costs.
This AI image analysis infrastructure has presently helped companies and other end users analyze images of cameras using the power of AI. NTT East’s AI image analysis also contributed to detecting congestion and the need for medical attention related to COVID-19.
NTT East also plans to release the service to support customer services and store operations in the midst of recent personnel shortages. Then, it has planned to expand services to various fields with themes of enhancement of security of streets and facilities and inspection of products, with an eye to assistance to resolve social issues and increase business possibility.
Amid the rapid increase in remote work, we have prioritized innovation and delivery speed as a Japanese telecommunication carrier. Daegu Metropolitan City Digital Transformation
The Digital Transformation category recognizes organizations that have successfully addressed IT challenges and delivered business value to effectively compete as a digital enterprise. With a population of 2.5 million, Daegu is the third largest metropolitan city in Korea. The city provides IT services to its citizens through an open source software-based private cloud.
To achieve its goal of enhancing its public services, Daegu Metropolitan City has planned a long term cloud initiative, D-Cloud (Daegu Cloud). The project aims to migrate its legacy infrastructure to the cloud in order to support the local government’s increasing workloads and improve efficiency within their administrative task system.
The city deployed multiple Red Hat solutions to power this project over five years, including Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, and Red Hat OpenStack Platform. This year, the city deployed Red Hat OpenShift to build a software-defined data center cloud environment. Collectively, the solutions provided Daegu City the flexibility needed to build a more stable, efficient infrastructure that helped improve delivery speed of IT services to its citizens and reduce costs by 36%. These new standards set for its cloud data centers also help attract new business and job opportunities in the city. This will help bring a positive impact to the overall application development environment, boosting open source innovation, with vendor lock-in out of the way.
The project has also given the city the opportunity to embrace open technology and adapt quickly to a rapidly changing IT environment. With Red Hat’s solutions, the city is better equipped to continually evolve to attract investments from companies and adopt current and upcoming technology trends like automation.

Affiliated with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), LH develops, maintains and manages land, housing and cities. It aims to improve quality of life and the national economy by creating stable housing for the country’s citizens and efficiently utilizing national land. The company has also recently started providing cloud-based IT services in areas such as smart cities and renewable energy.
To help address and solve local government’s urban problems through use of data, LH developed a platform, COMPAS, that allows citizens to contribute ideas and solutions to address local urban problems. COMPAS collects, processes and analyzes big data to identify problems and the best solutions. As such, LH needed a stable and flexible open source platform to help increase its overall capability with managed cloud infrastructure, such as its operating systems (OS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
LH deployed Red Hat OpenShift to build a standardized development platform. The open source platform helped them to expand over various cloud and data analysis environments. By adopting a more stable and agile architecture for user model development, LH was able to launch their service faster than anticipated while also reducing costs.
With Red Hat’s support, the COMPAS platform has made it possible for LH to use open source to provide an enhanced user experience for its citizens. As it continues to aid local governments in providing solutions for urban problems, LH’s COMPAS also made it possible for it to adapt to a rapidly changing IT environment and follow open standards. It plans to implement the COMPAS system into various smart city projects and use similar open models for DevOps and data integration projects.
The COMPAS project has played a key role in helping us successfully address urban issues in an efficient, flexible and timely manner. Bursa Malaysia is the stock exchange of Malaysia and one of the largest bourses in ASEAN. It operates and regulates a fully integrated exchange that offers a comprehensive range of exchange-related facilities such as listing, trading, clearing, settlement and depository services.
Bursa Malaysia was looking to implement an agile integration platform to support its Central Depository System (CDS) eServices application, Bursa Anywhere, which would allow its nearly two million retail investors to view and manage their accounts in one, unified platform.
To build the foundation of the application, Bursa Malaysia deployed Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat AMQ, Red Hat 3Scale API Management, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat Virtualization to develop a reliable, scalable and flexible platform. Collectively, Red Hat open source solutions have allowed Bursa Malaysia to scale its post-trading and public listed company announcement integration services, connect disparate applications and services, as well as reduce the time to market for the services by 20 percent.
With its enhanced agility and efficiency, Bursa Malaysia was able to continuously improve and update the application with new features, which contributed nearly 10 percent of the total number of CDS accounts opened since 2020. Greater market participation from a broader range of audience segments in Malaysia is key to Bursa Malaysia’s sustainability and contributes to a thriving economy. Since its launch in 2019, Bursa Anywhere now has nearly 211,000 users.
An enhanced hybrid cloud infrastructure allowed Bursa to improve business resilience by delivering more innovative and competitive services, while adapting to changes in legislation and technological advancements in an agile manner.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the largest electricity utility in Malaysia and a leading utility company in Asia with an international presence in seven additional countries. The company serves 10.08 million customers across its various portfolios. Its activities include the generation and supply of electricity, as well as maintaining power plants, engineering and construction services, coal mining and trading.
The global energy sector is seeing continued economic shifts, technology disruptions, increasing pressure for cost efficiency and competitive intensity from regulators. To keep up with changing market needs and improve cost control, TNB needed a flexible and efficient cloud-driven platform that was also compliant with data transparency and security requirements.
With the support of Red Hat Consulting, TNB was also able to better plan and design the project by taking into account its existing capabilities and understanding of the topic. Together, the teams worked to identify technical difficulties and the crucial integration points to solve during presales, which provided its management with confidence in the project.
TNB deployed Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to aggregate and manage its cloud infrastructure from different providers. Red Hat’s technology has enabled TNB to standardize their resource provisioning base, better track their asset management, and eliminate repetitive tasks for asset registration. Whereas previously, provisioning an environment would take 3-4 days, with the help of the updated platform TNB can now do this within hours. The platform has ultimately allowed TNB to automate menial and repetitive tasks, eliminate resource wastage, and improve time to market.
Additionally, TNB’s improved governance and compliance capabilities also enabled it to predict and identify specific areas of non-compliance, which the team could quickly rectify, saving valuable time and financial resources.

The center upgraded from its previous platform to help overcome complex upgrade processes and potential security risks. With a high-performance education cloud that is robust and reliable, NCHC of NARLabs is able to automate installation, upgrades, and lifecycle management throughout the container stack on any cloud with improved security features at every level. The platform’s ability to automate continuous updates reduces NCHC of NARLabs’ maintenance costs and manpower needs by a third. Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) is the fifth largest bank in Thailand in terms of assets, loans, and deposits and one of Thailand’s six Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) with over 76 years of history in the country. Krungsri is a strategic member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan’s largest financial group and one of the world’s largest financial organizations.
To reinforce its leadership in Thailand’s digital banking market under the medium-term business plan covering 2021-2023, Krungsri wanted to improve, innovate and enhance its customer experience by taking its digital transformation journey to the next level. As part of its digitalization program, Krungsri worked to create a robust, secure and easy-to-connect system to drive its overall partner ecosystem growth. The bank had to move beyond its legacy applications to containerized applications using a microservices architecture. This also shortened its end-to-end product development lifecycle by 50 percent.
As a result, Krungsri can now quickly create and deliver new applications and services through the adoption of a cloud-native architecture and containerization. KTBCS had to help its parent company, Krung Thai Bank (KTB), move to the cloud. In response to the Ministry of Finance’s mandate to upgrade and strengthen banks’ public service, KTB wanted to build a digital platform to improve their banking offerings to customers while maintaining control over cost. Using Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ceph Storage, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, KTBCS helped KTB build a private cloud to host new digital applications while optimizing their return on investment.
The private cloud by KTBCS allowed KTB to accelerate the bank’s time-to-market for digital services and ensure the availability and security of digital applications. KTB has cut down development cycle time from weeks to days. Furthermore, KTB also eliminated time-consuming manual procedures, such as IT environment production and installation, saving up to 50 percent in costs and manpower on core business applications such as their global transaction application and the employee application One Krungthai. KTB’s infrastructure is also now agile enough to scale for increased workloads or future business growth requirements.
Building on this momentum, KTBCS plans to adopt this technology for future digitalized applications and government agencies workloads. With Red Hat, KTBCS is confident that it has the capabilities to build the national private cloud for Thai’s government agencies.

ANZ is a multinational banking and financial services company with
a purpose of helping to shape a world in which people and
communities thrive. To achieve that goal, the digital customer
self-service tribe needed to ensure that ANZ’s internet banking
platform is always stable, reliable, and able to meet the needs of
its wide range of customers including everyday consumers and small
businesses right up to large enterprises.
ANZ’s internet banking platform uses a core banking application which since 2005 was heavily customized to its needs but has passed its end of life date and has been on extended support for more than 12 years. To future-proof the reliability and effectiveness of its internet banking platform, ANZ decided to adopt a containerized platform to remain architecturally aligned with the core banking platform upgrade path.
With the help of Red Hat Consulting, ANZ deployed Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Runtimes as the foundation of its internet banking platform in early 2020. Collectively, Red Hat solutions enabled the bank to implement the latest core banking application version (11.9) in production in July 2020 while running and migrating existing services from the original. ANZ managed to process AU$2.9 billion worth of scheduled payments within the first hour of implementing Red Hat OpenShift and the new core banking platform version in production. It also saw an increase in the number of internet banking users smoothly completing transactions during the peak hour of the first day of deployment. Additionally, ANZ was running 30 per cent of its customer traffic on the new infrastructure within four months of confirming the architectural decision.
With Red Hat OpenShift, ANZ will be able to reuse the internet banking services that are upgraded and transitioned for the bank’s other channels such as its mobile banking application. This empowers the bank to run faster and deliver consistent user experience across multiple digital channels for its 2.4 million active internet banking customers. Red Hat solutions also enabled the bank to comply with the regulatory obligation of ensuring continued stability and availability of its critical customer-facing systems, processing approximately AU$1.2 billion in payments each day. So far, its unplanned outage time for internet banking has reduced by approximately 80 per cent.
The improved internet banking technology capabilities ensure our customers have the tools they need to easily complete their online banking so they can spend more time running their business or enjoying life. Collaborating with Red Hat to use its open source solutions means we can meet the scalability, reliability, supportability and security requirements to host our internet banking platform. Together we were able to build deployment pipelines that enable us to reuse code, rapidly test and retest deployment, as well as meet the stringent performance and volume testing criteria.

China Mobile Communications Corporation Internet is a professional
subsidiary of China Mobile Communications Corporation. It is responsible
for the development and operation of the group’s internet products,
including 139 mailboxes, mobile marketplace, multimedia messaging
service (MMS) and unified authentication.
When its existing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform could not support agile deployment and struggled to adapt to rapidly changing business requirements, China Mobile Communications Corporation Internet built a platform on Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Since Red Hat OpenShift enabled different services and applications to easily share the same set of physical resources and scale easily, it helped the company reduce its total cost of ownership (TCO) and maximize the use of IT resources. The company was able to increase its CPU use and memory use by eight times and 1.2 times respectively.
The Red Hat-powered platform also empowered China Mobile Communications Corporation Internet to take a cloud-native approach by adopting containers, combining and standardizing the toolchain, and optimizing the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. The company improved the reliability of its application deployment through automated testing, and increased its application release speed by 30%, which is key to supporting its online business growth.

development, engineering and technical services, refining and marketing,

Building on the foundation of its infrastructure-as-a-service platform, CNOOC aimed to further enhance the operational efficiency of its entire cloud platform, ensure timely response to business innovation and development, and deepen the enterprise-wide digital transformation using new technologies. CNOOC decided to build its cloud-native platform based on Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Middleware to gain cloud-native development capabilities, facilitate a full life-cycle management, and modernize the infrastructure cloud, the application architecture and its agile development process.
With the latest enterprise cloud-native capabilities, including DevOps tool chain, micro-services, cloud-native development, and middleware solutions, CNOOC can deploy new applications in a non-disruptive way, significantly improving the operation efficiency of the platform and reducing the overall processing time by half. By deploying lightweight containers, CNOOC also improved its resource utilization from less than 30% to 70%. _VOIS started its cloud journey by engaging Red Hat Consulting for a Red Hat container adoption program to learn the best practices for DevOps adoption, including agile, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and automated testing. It then deployed Red Hat OpenShift as the orchestration and automation layer for its private cloud, which was built on Red Hat OpenStack Platform. To further encourage enterprise-wide DevOps adoption, _VOIS built a Development Environment as-a-service (DevaaS) using Red Hat Cloud Suite, Red Hat Ceph Storage and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. As the use of 5G expands, NTT DOCOMO looked to augment its services by introducing next-generation infrastructures and new technologies without compromising quality or competitive pricing for customers. Together with Red Hat Consulting, it deployed Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to integrate and automate more than 10,000 devices used in its CiRCUS/MAPS infrastructure, a common service platform that helps improve system flexibility and scalability to support both the diversification of services in the 5G era and the increased traffic. NTT DOCOMO expects to halve its infrastructure development time, operational costs and man-hours by 2022 by using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to automate all of its IT processes, such as configuration management, provisioning, and deployment of servers, networks, storages, cloud, security and applications.
Red Hat OpenStack Platform was installed as a foundation of virtual platform for CiRCUS/MAPS, and collectively, Red Hat solutions helped NTT DOCOMO enhance its IT environment and minimize human interventions needed for development and operational processes, enabling it to provide high-quality services to customers.

In a joint effort with Fujitsu, a provider of IT services and products, RIKEN developed the supercomputer Fugaku aimed at responding to immediate social and scientific issues. These issues cover the areas of bioscience, disaster prevention, environmental issues, energy, manufacturing, and fundamental science. Results from the studies will contribute to the development of technology in these areas and enhance industrial competitiveness. The facilitation of leading edge infrastructure on Fugaku and the operational technologies developed can also be used in the information area such as big data and artificial intelligence (AI).
RIKEN and Fujitsu adopted Red Hat Enterprise Linux as Fugaku’s operating system. Red Hat Enterprise Linux provides a more consistently predictable and reliable interface in the supercomputing environment, which enables Fugaku to be productive and reliable, while being user-friendly and compatible with other software. This enables Fugaku to be fully compliant with various standards of Arm-based processors. Red Hat Enterprise Linux also provides streamlined update management for easier administration and opens up additional avenues for hybrid cloud computing in the future.
While Fugaku is scheduled to be fully operational in fiscal year 2021, RIKEN has provided some of Fugaku’s computing resources to support research and development efforts needed to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, Fugaku was used for medical research, including, predicting dynamic structure of proteins of the novel coronavirus and identifying potential drug candidates to combat the virus. RIKEN is also using Fugaku for simulation analysis to better understand how the COVID-19 infection spreads and the resulting socioeconomic impacts of the virus.
Fugaku is near completion, after 10 years since its initial conception to achieve two goals in the world of supercomputers. One is to be the pinnacle of information technology, i.e., showing the highest performance running a wide range of applications while having high versatility. We were able to achieve three times the performance and power efficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, without making any changes to the operating system, on the Arm-based A64FX processor developed jointly with Fujitsu. This performance makes Fugaku the world’s first exascale machine and is 100 times better than what the K computer achieved when it was constructed. The other is to address high-priority social issues that are of great public interest. such as the achievement of Society 5.0. We are currently running various applications to address issues caused by COVID-19, with Red Hat Enterprise Linux providing the operating system backbone. The findings have direct impact on the government’s formulation of infection prevention guidelines. This enabled developers to better focus on application development, such as the implementation of business logic and administration of application cycles, instead of spending time to configure and manage the Red Hat OpenShift. With Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated, SMFG and Japan Research Institute can now adopt agile development, accelerating their speed-to-market and ensuring their competitiveness. After November 2020, both organizations expect to be able to launch a new service in several months, deploy a new feature or application every day, and reduce the development and operation costs to a third.
With Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated as our platform for application development, SMFG and Japan Research Institute can quickly release new digital services and continuously update them with new features. We’ll also adopt the agile development methods we’ve learnt from this project as our new standard way of developing digital services. This will enable us to offer value-added solutions that deliver better services to customers while ultimately helping to promote the group’s future growth with the support of IT.

To achieve its vision of becoming an Intelligent Cloud Computing Center, NIRS Daegu Center’s planning team is building a software-defined data center (SDDC) for its government cloud.
The SDDC will accelerate cloud migration for government and public organizations to support the South Korean government’s “cloud first’ initiative. It will offer an automated infrastructure through software-defined compute, network, and storage, to provide a standardized platform that can effectively support artificial intelligence (AI), big data and Internet of Things (IoT) services. NIRS used multiple Red Hat solutions to power the SDDC including Red Hat Cloud Suite, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Ceph Storage, Red Hat Gluster Storage, Red Hat JBoss Web Server, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Red Hat Runtimes and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters. The SDDC is also supported by Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Smart Management and Red Hat Integration.
The SDDC will empower NIRS Daegu Center to provision faster infrastructure services through cloud and reduce its IT spend through optimization. NIRS Daegu Center aims to connect the disparate work systems (currently around 580 work systems across 80 public institutes) of its occupants and enables it to centrally manage the underlying IT infrastructure, and free up more time for its occupants’ IT staff to focus on enhancing services for citizens.
To fully benefit from the cloud, it is imperative for the cloud environment to have the ability to improve operational efficiency and effectively support changes such as the use of the latest technology. It initially relied on Unix as its primary operating system and a traditional three-tier architecture with server virtualization, which were unable to support its new organizational structure centered on agile transformation. The existing infrastructure was highly dependent on administrators and operators, and made it difficult to adopt automation.
With support from Red Hat Consulting, Orange Life adopted Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Quay and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes to be cloud-ready, reduce cost and enable the company to be more agile and speed up innovation. It used Red Hat OpenShift to transform its applications to become cloud-native so that it can be easily migrated to the cloud in future. By moving most of its web-based applications to Red Hat OpenShift, Orange Life can also run 10 times more applications per node, lowering its IT spend on hardware and software by 50% as compared to using its previous architecture.
Additionally, Red Hat OpenShift provides an efficient environment for Orange Life’s developers that enables them to quickly reproduce the same applications or reuse microservices. This helps developers to focus on development and the quality of applications without worrying about the underlying infrastructure, thereby accelerating speed-to-market and ensuring the delivery of good customer experience.

AmBank Group is a leading financial services group
with over 40 years of expertise in supporting the
economic development of Malaysia.
To maintain its competitive edge in the saturated digital banking space, AmBank decided to create an end-to-end application to digitally onboard local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
AmBank engaged Red Hat Open Innovation Labs to learn how to adopt DevOps and agile development processes. After the five-week program, the bank created standard operating procedures for managing upcoming agile application projects. It also used Red Hat OpenShift to build a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline for its applications. Since the new app automates some compliance processes such as credit, risk and company checks, it reduces the complexity of the onboarding process, minimizes the number of visits to physical branches and helps prevent churn of SME customers. Red Hat also enabled AmBank to embrace a culture of collaboration across teams, which will help reduce overall defects, requirements mismanagements and coding defects. This ultimately helps improve its speed-to-market and overall business agility.
Red Hat has provided us with the foundational blocks of an enterprise-wide DevOps practice. We have embraced new working practices among our teams with a common goal of launching better and faster digital products to capture a larger market share. Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (Social Security Organization) Digital Transformation
SOCSO, otherwise known as PERKESO, is one of the
government departments under Malaysia’s Ministry of
Human Resources. It covers all social security
provisions and administration for workers in
Malaysia. The PERKESO Social Security Protection is
based on the concept of joint responsibility through
the pooling of resources, sharing of risk and
replacement of income, and it aims to provide social
security protection to employees and their
dependants through its various schemes.
PERKESO needed to transform its services through rebranding as part of the Pelan Transformasi PERKESO 2017, which supports the organization’s overall Strategic Plan 2016-2020. This called for the organization to modernize its legacy remuneration systems, which consists of modules that are hard-wired with codes and integrated with isolated web services and batch processing scripts. PERKESO deployed Red Hat Enterprise Linux to run its servers, and developed new applications that are modular and integrated with Red Hat Fuse. It also built business processes and workflows with Red Hat Process Automation Manager and deployed them on Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat JBoss Web Server.
By doing so, PERKESO reduced operational cost, extended the availability of its services and ensured that its services reached more stakeholders (i.e., employers and employees registered with PERKESO). About 400,000 employers can now perform transactions such as contribution submissions and payments via PERKESO’s new digital channels instead of having to visit a physical branch. Meanwhile, employees can access their profiles and contribution-related information in PERKESO’s online systems, enabling them to be a more informed contributor. Additionally, the online channels helped the organization deliver a better user experience and reduce the number of user complaints. They can also accommodate more stakeholders to ensure self-employees, such as taxi drivers and drivers working for e-hailing services, are protected under PERKESO.

Standard Chartered Bank
Standard Chartered is a multinational banking and
financial services company. It operates in 60
markets and employs around 86,000 people.
The bank needed to transform and disrupt emerging markets by ramping up its digital capabilities for its online and mobile banking channels. It also aimed to provide better customer satisfaction in regions with increasing digital penetration like GCNA (Greater China & North Asia), ASA (ASEAN & South Asia) and AME (Africa & Middle East). To achieve these goals, it adopted Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Red Hat JBoss Web Server and Red Hat Fuse to increase productivity and develop and deploy applications faster.
The bank’s RPBWM (Retail, Private Banking & Wealth Management) Digital Channels team, supported by Red Hat Consulting, was able to utilize Red Hat OpenShift to accelerate the revamp of the legacy channel applications (internet banking and mobile banking) into a microservices driven, cloud-native solution.
By adopting Red Hat OpenShift, the bank saw a reduction in infrastructure cost, the ability to scale up and support a several-fold increase in traffic, reduced time to deploy and go-to-market for applications, and a greatly simplified production rollout and recovery process.
The platform also played a critical role in the rapid roll-out of digital banking capabilities for several countries in the AME region by improving overall time-to-market and reduced total cost of ownership.

Chunghwa Telecom is an integrated telecommunication
service provider in Taiwan. It offers domestic and
international fixed communication, mobile
communication, broadband, internet services and
enterprise ICT solutions such as cloud computing and
artificial intelligence services.
With each business unit running on its own data center, Chunghwa Telecom found it challenging to centrally manage its multiple data centers and ensure operational efficiency. This spurred the telco to move its mobile business group’s legacy business support systems (BSS) to private cloud, and migrate some existing applications to a new microservices architecture by using Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat AMQ, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The mobile business group also deployed APIs on Red Hat OpenShift to simplify facility management, issue tracking, HR management, real-time billing, order management and e-commerce.
The new microservices architecture allowed Chunghwa Telecom’s mobile business group to shorten its software development life cycle from three months to 14 days. It has also reduced its services deployment time from one day to 10 minutes.
Modernizing our BSS with Red Hat’s flexible open source solutions has given us the confidence to be able to adapt to changing customer expectations quickly and effectively. With container-based microservices and a cloud-native architecture, we can deliver IT services faster and accelerate speed to market to delight customers. E.SUN Bank adopted an open platform and microservices architecture to use standardized container technology and microservice development capabilities. Additionally, the new core system was designed to allow flexibility for future business development, using its automatic scaling capabilities to handle spikes in traffic from large numbers of transactions, thereby ensuring the reliability of the bank’s systems.

Government Savings Bank Cloud-native Development
A state enterprise that operates as a financial
institution, GSB runs 1,060 branches across Thailand
and serves more than 22 million customers. It
provides its customer groups – including individual
consumers, businesses and the public sector – with
access to financial services designed to support
sustainable development of the country and enhance
the future of Thai people. It does so by delivering
various services such as account balance inquiries,
interbank transfers using mobile phone numbers and
bill payments using barcodes through its internet
banking and mobile banking apps.
GSB needed a way to speed up time-to-market for new products amidst customer interest in digital financial services offerings while staying ahead of security risks. To deliver this, GSB started an initiative to develop an open banking platform that would host its APIs and provide managed services to both internal and external parties with strong security capabilities.
GSB migrated to an open source environment based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Application Runtimes, Red Hat 3Scale API Management, Red Hat JBoss Fuse and Red Hat OpenShift, with Red Hat Consulting’s help. By using lightweight APIs with microservices, DevOps and container technologies on top of the environment to automate business processes and improve their process efficiency, GSB was able to optimize costs and launch new digital banking services, helping to improve its customer relationships, speed to market and business agility. KASIKORN Business - Technology Group Digital Transformation
KBTG is the tech venture of Kasikorn Bank (KBank),
one of Thailand’s largest banks. It works as an
in-house developer, and partners with fintech firms
and tech startups to enhance its digital financial
products and provide excellent service delivery
amidst changes in the financial sector.
Since KBTG initially deployed many critical business applications on proprietary application servers on the UNIX operating system, it struggled to address changing business requirements in an agile manner and to reduce IT operational costs as the business grew. It also faced limitations in terms of adopting containers as its existing application servers were not lightweight. As such, KBTG’s infrastructure team, K Pro, needed to manually manage its IT infrastructure to ensure that its critical applications were always up and running.

The telco developed an IoT platform, named Connect All Things (CAT), for its teams to assist customers in building IoT products. In the increasingly fragmented IoT market, CAT helps customers reduce the time to market of their products and create remarkable performance. Therefore, FET required a faster product development process with higher quality to better convey the value of the company.
With help from Red Hat Consulting, FET integrated its CI/CD tool chain with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise Kubernetes platform. The new and improved CAT platform provides a visual and programmable rule engine, enabling users to easily create their own monitoring dashboard. CAT also provides several features to help users accelerate their development and deployment of application services. With improved security and load capacity, FET is now better poised to make use of 5G capabilities when developing future IoT products.
Since our establishment in 1997, we have known how important it is to provide customers with reliable and immediate connectivity, which is why it is our original intention and focus to build an IoT platform and become a partner to implement IoT applications. NEC has adopted the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for the system operating platform of the new “Narita Airport One ID” boarding solution, which uses face authentication technology provided by NEC.
This solution is an adaptation of “FAST TRAVEL,” making the process from arrival to boarding simple, easy to understand and smooth for passengers. It enables convenient and safe entry/exit procedures that allow people to pass various procedures such as baggage storage, security check and boarding gate without having to show a boarding pass and passport, as was required in the past, by registering a face photo at initial airport check-in procedures.
As a global leader in the IT and networking areas, NEC provides IT products and solutions for various companies and government offices, and in the past few years, it has also been focusing on the safety business, including biometric authentication technology.
In this instance, the focus on the development of systems is enabling coexistence of development and deployment with scalability capable of addressing sudden increases in the number of passengers during peak hours, flexible linkage with other leading edge systems and hardware, and excellent agility. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform met their needs by providing a flexible and scalable enterprise-ready Kubernetes container platform, as the system development and operating platform.
This system, which is scheduled to be installed first at Narita International Airport's 1st and 2nd passenger terminals in the spring of 2020, and eventually at domestic and international airports around the world, is expected to improve the on-time rate and to ease congestion through shortening waiting time during boarding procedures. It is also anticipated that improved safety, due to improved accuracy of identity verification in various procedures, and automation of procedures will lead to labor and manpower savings.

Rakuten has numerous IT engineers in advanced technologies, and has been using open source technologies from early on in enterprise systems. The adoption of open source technologies is also gathering speed at group companies Rakuten Mobile, Inc. (Rakuten Mobile) and Rakuten Communications Corp. (Rakuten Communications).
To build the first end-to-end fully virtualized cloud-native mobile network in the world, Rakuten Mobile adopted Red Hat open source technology, including the Red Hat OpenStack Platform. This will enable a low cost offering of a wide range of consumer and commercial services such as broadband, 4G / 5G wireless access and AR / VR.
The firm was looking to meet the requirements for the arrival of 5G technology and use software innovation to speed up the provision of mobile services to end users. The goal was specifically to cut the time and cost required to build systems. This enables rapid building of services, and high-quality and stable operation in cloud environments, which are becoming more diverse.
By using Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Rakuten is able to provision high-quality development environments for small and medium-sized customers while facilitating a flexible and highly scalable cloud-native infrastructure.
With its strength of having more than 100 million member IDs that use various services provided by Rakuten Group such as e-commerce, credit card, internet banking, online trading, and content, going forward the firm plans to continue to create synergies among the group companies while accelerating business and delivering further added value to customers.

FWD Insurance is the insurance arm of investment group Pacific Century Group. It offers various types of insurance products to customers in Hong Kong and Macau, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
With the aim of making insurance easy for consumers, FWD Insurance decided to adopt DevOps to gain the ability to quickly develop applications that could deliver better customer experiences. It therefore turned to Red Hat Consulting to deploy Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenShift Application Runtimes (RHOAR), Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat Quay, Red Hat Smart Management, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This move helped reduce time-to-market, with FWD Insurance now taking only three months to move applications from development to production. It also enabled the company to containerize some of its existing applications to deliver enhanced services such as instant underwriting and claims services.
In addition, Red Hat solutions enabled FWD Insurance to partner with other businesses and expand its distribution channels using Open APIs and agile integration. For instance, consumers can now purchase FWD Insurance’s products through its partner’s ecommerce platform.

HKT is Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications service provider and leading operator in fixed-line, broadband, and mobile communication services. It is a subsidiary of PCCW Limited, a global company headquartered in Hong Kong which holds interest in telecommunications, media, IT solutions, property development and investment, and other businesses.
To build on its traditional telecommunications business and to offer customers more comprehensive services, HKT has expanded service offerings beyond its core business to sustain continuing growth. With the help of Red Hat Consulting, HKT implemented Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Integration to adopt an agile continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) approach to development. This enabled it to launch travel, insurance and ecommerce services within months, and flexibly enhance those services or introduce new offerings to address changing consumer demands four times faster than before. Additionally, the automatic scaling in Red Hat OpenShift enabled HKT to handle spikes in traffic relating to seasonal and promotional offers cost-effectively, which also helps deliver a good customer experience.

We have decided to venture into new sectors and diversify our revenue streams to enhance competitiveness. Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) is the first state-owned commercial bank established in China. In order to facilitate business innovation, increase efficiency of incremental rollouts, improve the quality of customer offerings, and reduce operational and maintenance cost, ABC built an integrated application cloud platform distributed in Beijing and Shanghai by using the industry-leading Platform-as-a-Service product - Red Hat OpenShift as the foundation of its platform. This cloud platform enables application developers to concentrate on application system development without having to go through the manual process of resource application and management. This greatly improves the efficiency of application research and development, allows a consistent environment for development and production, and facilitates performance tracking. All of which contributes to the efficiency and reliability of application delivery.

Universal Beijing Resort is a new theme park destination that will feature the Universal Studios Beijing theme park, the Universal CityWalk Beijing retail, dining and entertainment complex, and two resort hotels. Expected to open in 2021, the Universal Studios Beijing theme park will feature seven themed and immersive lands that include several all-new attractions along with the most popular Universal rides, shows and attractions from around the world – plus specially created experiences designed to reflect China's cultural heritage.
Guest and employee experiences are always at the core of the value of Universal Beijing Resort. To provide the business with flexibility as the resort is being built from the ground up, Universal Beijing Resort’s IT strategy was to initially leverage cloud and merge with private and on-premise resources as construction completes. Universal Beijing Resort evaluated tools that were designed to support hybrid cloud architecture in B2B and B2C environments, selected and implemented Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat’s middleware portfolio (Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat AMQ and Red Hat 3scale) to integrate systems and processes together. With the largest distributed cloud deployment in the country, Vodafone Idea is transforming its distributed data centre network across 100 locations in India into a 'Universal Cloud,' where a shared software platform is capable of running multiple workloads e.g. Network, IT and third party applications across its distributed cloud locations. The provider is opening its network with standard API’s to facilitate third parties in accelerating cloud innovation, and reduce costs. The new network platform supports Vodafone Idea in optimising costs, accelerating consumption of cloud services and future proofing the network supporting enterprise digitization.
Our collaboration with Red Hat has helped us deploy Universal Cloud based on open standards and systems. Effective working with various ecosystem stakeholders and rapid development cycles has enabled us to design efficient pods for widely distributed deployments running throughput intensive workloads. We now plan to extend this Universal Cloud as a platform to third-party workloads.

InterGlobe Aviation Ltd (IndiGo Airline) IT Optimization, Agile Integration
InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, popularly known as IndiGo, is India’s largest passenger airline. The airline uses various Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products specific to the airline industry, as well as for generic functions such as finance. Additionally, the company also has several self-developed applications for its specific requirements such as HR, crew training, catering menu, and more. IndiGo implemented Red Hat Fuse and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to integrate these disparate applications and siloed data. Red Hat Consulting also collaborated with IndiGo to help design the solution and provided hands-on expert support and training through the initial deployment. This resulted in improved business agility and speed to add new features, and reduced fuel costs.
Today, IT plays a huge role in the lives of both our customers and our employees. With Red Hat Fuse and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, we have been able to enable easier integration of data, thereby improving the overall customer experience. POSCO ICTDigital Transformation
POSCO ICT is the IT and engineering services provider of POSCO, one of the world’s largest steel producers. To enable continued innovation and success for the next generation of POSCO’s business, POSCO ICT embarked on the Smart Factory project, with a goal of enabling the business to produce high-quality, high value-added products in a cost-effective manner. POSCO ICT deployed Red Hat Ansible Automation and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as the basis of its Smart Factory. Previously, a large amount of manpower and time were invested in implementing an infrastructure that enabled production-related big data analysis. However, by adopting Red Hat’s enterprise container and automation offerings, POSCO ICT established a foundation that could more quickly and easily implement analysis environments and expand them to various production sites. The resulting enhanced insights were quickly applied to analysis of POSCO’s production line, leading to marked improvements in the quality and efficiency of the production line.
POSCO ICT chose Red Hat as its technology partner not only for Red Hat Ansible Automation and Red Hat OpenShift but also for its consulting expertise. Red Hat Consulting helped POSCO ICT to identify the issues with regards to its system build and operations, and provided technical advice and support to solve them.
Working with Red Hat has enabled POSCO ICT to achieve multiple efficiencies including reductions in operating costs, efficiency gains and increased return on investment. POSCO ICT estimates that it will save 20% of its annual IT automation and management costs. In addition, implementing an organization-wide big data analytics enabled it to gain actionable insights that can help improve the quality of its products and in turn increase profitability.

The business value that we have received since working with Red Hat has been huge. For example, we have been able to achieve a 20% cost reduction in IT automation and management functions and faster project turnaround times. Shinhan BankDigital Transformation, Cloud Infrastructure
Shinhan Bank is one of the leading banks with the longest history in South Korea.. It has more than 900 domestic branches, and has been leading financial ICT industry technology changes through ATM, call center, PC banking and online banking. Shinhan Bank is expanding its overseas services to the rest of the globe through a network of more than 160 partners in 20 countries.
Shinhan Bank aims to continuously expand its services with local affiliates to expand its local services in the world. In order to expand its API-related services quickly and efficiently, the bank embarked on an initiative to build a large-scale, cloud-based front-end processing system. It also adopted DevOps processes to enable it to use open source and cloud-native service implementation technologies with strong security capabilities.
Shinhan Bank’s main driver for the project was to secure a microservice architecture and capacity to build container-based and cloud-native services as the existing services were built on a monolithic architecture. Shinhan Bank used Red Hat OpenShift to shorten the system development life cycle and gain standardized container technology and microservice development capabilities. OpenShift also provided Shinhan Bank with a microservice architecture that enabled it to use a global clustering OPC (one point copy) system to only run workloads that are relevant to each country’s needs, leading to accelerated services and lower operating costs. Additionally, the solution provides an on-ramp to hybrid cloud as part of its cloud strategy. This is key in providing the bank with the flexibility it requires to move workloads between environments - using between its private cloud for app development and testing, and the public cloud for production and services to its customers.
Shinhan Bank’s digital transformation was more than just a technology upgrade. With origins tracing back to 1875, Heritage Bank is Australia’s largest customer-owned bank and is one of the longest running financial institutions in Australia. Founded in Toowoomba, Heritage Bank prides itself on its “People First” ethos, and is committed to improving an excellent customer experience.
Currently, Heritage Bank is in the midst of a digital transformation to better meet its goal of delivering great customer experiences every time. However, its monolithic 40-year-old core system resulted in siloed teams and limited the bank’s architectural vision. Its business model needed to change, and the bank believed it was necessary to take an outside-in approach when architecting, delivering and evolving a digital platform.
To address that, Heritage Bank engaged Red Hat Open Innovation Labs, and was able to apply three strategies - microservices, APIs and containers - to create highly configurable architecture, to help Heritage Bank respond more quickly to market demands. The immersive nature of the Red Hat Open Innovation Labs experience also resulted in the bank having empowered, multi-disciplinary teams to better support the business.
By powering the new operating model within its IT team with Red Hat solutions, Heritage Bank’s IT team can now support business initiatives more effectively. The solutions include Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Ansible Automation, Red Hat 3scale API Management, and Red Hat Satellite. With improved developer productivity, architecture efficiency and operational cost model, the bank estimates it saved at least 20% of time per developer and reduced the cost of maintaining its platforms significantly. The bank’s newfound agility and speed are helping it to continue to break down complexity, legacy components and capability within its ageing core, and move towards adopting a new, digitally designed and API-enabled core banking system to continue to provide exceptional service to its customers.

OptusDigital transformation, Modern Application Development
Optus serves content and telecommunications capabilities to more than 10 million Australian mobile subscribers and provides enterprise services to many of Australia’s small, medium and large businesses.
As part of its 2020 CX Vision, Optus is aiming to transform customer experience by delivering exceptional value and digital experiences for customers.
To drive customer experience improvements, Optus developed a Cloud Core Contact Centre (C4), a cloud-native platform that allows microservices to be quickly developed and deployed in a DevOps environment with strong security capabilities. C4 breaks down complex monolith systems into smaller services, with each performing a precise functionality. Since a single microservice can be used in various use cases to perform the same function, Optus’ agile teams can prevent repeated efforts, resulting in faster iteration of new customer care functionalities. Optus also managed to adopt DevOps practices with C4. Featuring CI/CD pipelines with embedded security compliance checks, C4 enables the telco to modify architectures and release software without impacting the stability of operations or compromising the security of customer sensitive information.
With all these capabilities, Optus can rapidly develop and integrate new service technology functions – such as voice notes and intelligent routing – across its voice and messaging channels to deliver better customer experience. For instance, the Red Hat OpenShift-backed C4 supports the real-time transcription of customer calls and automation of categorisation of the transcript (also known as voice notes). These moves aim to help Optus’ contact centre agents capture more information from customer calls and reduce the time needed to summarise those calls. C4 also enables Optus’ service operations team to personalise the routing experience for customers who call. By doing so, Optus can help customers more effectively with minimal customer input, which could result in an enhanced customer experience.

As part of its digital strategy, OCBC Bank modernized its technology architecture to enable it to deliver superior customer experience, deepen relationships and to grow its franchise. To realize this goal, OCBC deployed solutions, including wealth management applications, built on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. With this platform, OCBC Bank can deliver new digital capabilities with scale and agility across the Group’s business lines and subsidiaries in the region. The platform has enabled the Bank to increase reusability, lower overall cost of investment and increase development efficiency.
We have made very good progress in transforming our technology architecture to improve agility and speed in deploying new business capabilities. Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (Alliance Bank)Digital Transformation, Agile Integration
As part of its digital transformation, Alliance Bank deployed the agile Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform to help expedite the roll-out of its Branch-in-Tablet initiative to cut the projected timeline from 18 months, to as little as 4 months for the first version of the bank account opening process working prototype. This solution enables the bank’s customers to open a banking account and activate their debit card, Internet, and mobile banking services in as little as 15 minutes. Today, all Alliance Bank branches nationwide are equipped with this efficient tablet solution.
Alliance Bank’s Branch-in-a-Tablet initiative will soon be extended to include other banking products and solutions. The meaningful collaboration with Red Hat helps Alliance Bank fulfil its brand promise to its customers: delivering fast, simple, and responsive solutions that are aligned to their needs.

Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLB)Digital Transformation, IT Optimization
HLB is one of Malaysia’s leading financial services institutions providing regional services of wide ranging and innovative financial solutions to countries which include Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Vietnam and China. These services are delivered through traditional means and comprehensive digital channels – online and mobile banking, as well as a digital branch concept designed to provide complete customer satisfaction with a simple, efficient and seamless experience aided by technology.
With the rapidly-changing financial landscape, coupled with fast-paced technological changes, staying attuned to customers’ expectations and aspirations are key to HLB’s ongoing efforts to develop capabilities, banking products and services that are centred on clients’ needs.
To this end, HLB deployed Red Hat solutions to enhance its application development capabilities while increasing security capabilities and maintaining its existing IT investments and control of its assets. With Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, and its ability to enable an automated container management process that supports provisioning, deployment, and scaling of containers across multiple hosts/nodes, as well as automatic health checks to enable high availability in expected workloads, the bank can take an innovative approach in developing new services and releasing them to the market at a faster rate.
Red Hat OpenShift also offers an open source architecture that enables applications to run across physical, virtual, public, private, or hybrid cloud infrastructure. This has enabled the bank to adopt an agile and human-centric design methodology that helped them to considerably enhance customer experience through continual improvements and adjustments to the UI/UX. The open source architecture also enabled it to integrate its offerings with WeChat Pay, enabling WeChat users to more easily make payments when visiting Malaysia. Collectively, based on its estimates, the new capabilities helped HLB reduce in-house app development and go-to-market time by 40 to 60%, depending on complexity, and lower the cost to market by 40 to 60%.
HLB’s journey to digitize began not with the technology, but a cultural shift driven by digital-first values and guiding principles. To help boost financial inclusion in the country, PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) sought to become more agile, developing and deploying services in a more responsive manner. This motivated them to move away from its legacy enterprise application integration platform into one that offered API-based integration and enable greater agility.
By deploying Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat 3Scale API Management with the help of Red Hat Consulting, BCA gained a modern architecture based on APIs to integrate its internal systems and applications faster and in a scalable manner. Since the architecture has also been verified to adhere to BCA’s standard IT security policy and governance, it enabled the company’s IT application teams to develop and deploy applications more securely and efficiently. These capabilities helped accelerate time to market of new initiatives and features of existing products, which ultimately empowers the bank to cater its services to the financial needs of both its existing customers as well as the unbanked.

Telkomsel, the largest cellular operator in Indonesia, serves around 168 million customers today and brings telecommunications service access across the country. Being the first to commercially launch 4G LTE mobile services in Indonesia, the company prides itself on consistent innovation to expand its digital business, including digital lifestyle, mobile financial services, digital advertising, Big Data, and Internet of Things (IoT).
Established in 1995, Telkomsel’s legacy systems hindered it from moving faster to accommodate business and customer needs as its business grew. To counter this and increased competition, Telkomsel set out a strategic business direction in 2017 to undergo digital transformation and stay ahead of the curve.
To address the challenge of monolithic and siloed systems, duplicate functions and a complex integration process which required heavy investments of resources just to keep the lights on, the telco embarked on a Digital Core platform and migrated to cloud-native applications using containers and microservices with Red Hat OpenShift, the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise Kubernetes platform, to eliminate duplicate services and accelerate speed to market. API-based services also simplified the integration with third-party partners and enabled it to pilot three new products in its Digital Core project: a browse and purchase product, customer information service and a mobile wallet service.

ANZ Bank (ANZ) is one of the five largest listed companies in Australia by market capitalization and a leading bank in New Zealand, serving both consumers and businesses in the region. In 2017, ANZ needed to increase the speed of its software release cycle after the work in their API platform had grown significantly during the previous year. To enable a continuous integration and continuous delivery process, ANZ migrated to a solution based on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Gluster Storage, Red Hat Ansible Tower, and Red Hat Satellite.
The project began in phases in 2017, with migration of more than 25 services into containers within nine months. Using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, ANZ reports it reduced deployment time from hours to minutes, allowed development teams to deploy their own code into production, automated configuration, and enabled zero downtime deployments. The team also engaged Red Hat Consulting to help upskill the team and migrate the solution.
Since its initial rollout, ANZ added a Blue-Green deployment capability - a methodology that creates two identical production environments which enable upgrades to be made in the parallel environment and facilitate rollbacks to the old environment should a problem surface - in a matter of weeks. This created a continuous integration (CI) service that superseded its old CI processes.

New Zealand Customs ServiceEnterprise Integration, Digital Transformation
The NZ Customs protects and promotes New Zealand at the border.
As part of this role, NZ Customs installed eGates (formerly SmartGates) - an automated self-service passport check system that provides faster border clearance. Between 20,000 and 25,000 passengers use the eGates daily, with international visitor arrivals forecasted to increase by 4.8 percent per annum over the next five years. To enable smoother processing at the borders and to avoid increasing staff workload, NZ Customs embarked on an eGate upgrade project.
With the help of SECTION6, an open source enterprise solutions consultancy and a Red Hat partner, NZ Customs Service developed a solution architecture based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux,Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), Red Hat Fuse and Red Hat AMQ. With this new Red Hat-based platform, NZ Customs Service can more rapidly deliver modern applications and services, helping to modernise its entire portfolio of applications. Using open source technologies also became a catalyst for innovation at NZ Customs, helping to increase productivity and provide better service quality.
The upgraded eGate solution improved processing for both frontline staff and travelers. Based on its internal calculations, NZ Customs was able to increase the number of passengers processed by the modernized eGates, reduce manual processing, and reduce the average time required to process each passenger through the eGates.
New Zealand Customs is delighted to receive this award. Our upgraded eGate border processing solution has enabled faster and more reliable processing of passengers at the border which has improved their traveling experience and has allowed us to better cope with an increasing traveler population. The success of the project has clearly demonstrated the value that can be realized in a public service setting by working in an agile, collaborative way. As a result, agile and DevOps practices are being adopted to help accelerate other important pieces of work at New Zealand Customs. The confidence and trust that we have received from our key technology and business stakeholders would not have been possible without the support of SECTION6 and Red Hat.
Bharti Airtel LimitedDigital Transformation
With more and more applications moving to cloud footprints,Bharti Airtel wanted network infrastructure based on, on-premises private cloud to run Telco Operation tools.
Bharti Airtel implemented Red Hat Cloud Suite at its global Network Operations Centre (NOC) at Manesar. The NOC includes a 3600-square-foot video wall that presents them in a unified video view to make monitoring and analysis of Bharti Airtel’s operations simpler and more efficient. The cloud platform, built using Red Hat OpenShift on Red Hat OpenStack Platform, will allow networks to scale– out, make it easier to adopt new workloads like IoT, 5G and AI and provide a more seamless way to manage applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. With this cloud platform powered by Red Hat, Airtel aims to create a self-healing operations network that will enable network traffic to re-route in the event of downtime. The platform currently hosts hybrid applications such as Unified Fault, Performance, Trouble Service Ticket and Asset Management with a roadmap to host more applications in the future.

The Directorate General of Treasury (DG of Treasury) is a government entity in Indonesia responsible for formulating and implementing the state’s treasury policies and technical standardizations. One of its applications, SAKTI (Financial Application System Level Institutions), is used for financial management and reporting purposes by the government, its ministries and military, and sees more than 7,100 total users. By 2020, DG of Treasury projects as many as 384,000 users - more than 54 times its current user base.
To better support this anticipated growth, the DG of Treasury migrated from JBoss AS 7.1, the upstream, community-based Java EE 6-compliant application server project to Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP) for its enterprise support and SLA. The DG of Treasury also deployed Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform to help support the many instances of its application and Red Hat Satellite to help manage patching for its operating system. Today, the team is able to deploy and scale out quickly through the use of Linux containers, bringing about time saving, increased efficiency and faster time to serve its stakeholders.
SAKTI is the first application that we have deployed on a container platform and many other divisions in the organization are eager to see the results of such a deployment. EMC was established in 2001 to operate the wholesale market of the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS), Asia’s first liberalized electricity market. As the exchange for wholesale electricity trading, EMC provides a transparent and competitive trading platform through calculating prices, scheduling generation, clearing and settling market transactions, as well as supporting governance of the market.
EMC was due for a server hardware and applications refresh for its core settlement and Market Rules engine system. However, the proprietary stack it was built on was aging and restricting innovation efforts to support upgraded NEMS applications as stipulated by market regulations. To address this need, EMC migrated to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP) and Red Hat Process Automation Manager, a tool for building business automation services and process-centric applications, to better position the team for innovation in line with future technologies. The move helped to reduce the total cost of ownership and improved time to market with increased scalability, flexibility, and efficiency in provisioning and deployment to multiple environments. The company also adopted Red Hat Ansible Tower to facilitate continuous integration and continuous delivery through IT automation.

SIA is the flag carrier airline of Singapore and a global company dedicated to providing quality travel experiences for its customers, ranking as the world’s best airline in 2018 by SKYTRAX. In order to help keep the airline at the top of its passengers’ service experience, the IT department looked to improve its agility and better meet business requests.
SIA decided to transform the core architecture and delivery framework of its online flight reservation, redemption, check-in and loyalty program capabilities, enabling greater delivery speed and agility through modernization of its traditional monolithic design to one using microservice architecture delivered with an agile framework. Key technologies used include Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, JBoss EAP, and Red Hat Data Grid deployed across its hybrid environment spanning on-premise datacentre and public cloud. Both the application and infrastructure teams were also upskilled through training courses and workshops, laying a foundation for the necessary competency to operate this new platform.
Through this technology transformation, the development team was able to better address business needs through more frequent releases. SIA reports that new features also have faster time-to-market by automating the continuous integration and continuous delivery processes, and speeding monthly deployments to a daily affair. Customer experience has also improved as a result of the platform’s auto-scaling and auto-healing capabilities.

KBTG worked with Red Hat to deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), Red Hat AMQ, and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, giving it a flexible and agile foundation to bring artificial intelligence capabilities to KPlus, enabling customers to choose products and services that match their lifestyles. In addition, with an open standards-based technology structure, KBank can more easily connect with its partners’ platforms, enabling it to introduce more services to customers. By delivering enhanced features such as these, KBank hopes to expand its customer base by 2 million accounts a year for a total of 20 million accounts by 2021.

The Fukuoka Financial Group is a financial group with a history of about 140 years with approximately 5.7 million individual customers, approximately 220 thousand corporate customers. Fukuoka Financial Group participated in Red Hat Open Innovation Labs with the goal to improve corporate competitiveness, increase digital transformation, learn and practically implement the agile development methodology with DevOps, and implement in-house system development. They also adopted Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as an application development and execution environment and deploy it on the public cloud.
The company established a Digital Strategy Department to lead its digital transformation efforts. The company aims to establish a system in which new products and services can be more quickly launched into the market by changing its working practices and corporate culture, and building faster development system using the new development methodology.
It is doing so by moving the system development and operations, which have up until now been outsourced, back into the company and using talent that will be capable of carrying out the agile development following the residency.

NTT COMWARE used Red Hat OpenStack Platform as the cloud infrastructure for its SmartCloud DevaaS 2.0, a PaaS development environment service, which provides on-demand access of features for the DevOps development based on development needs, such as development client, CI/CD server and test server.
NTT reports that SmartCloud DevaaS 2.0 has been introduced into approximately 3,000 VMs inside and outside the company. Within NTT, the company reports that the automation created a reduction in operation costs by 30 percent. In addition, the introduction has lead to improvement in agility. With the self-service function, it became possible to provide a development environment the same day, a process which used to take five days to provide. As the prompt procurement of development environments became possible, NTT reports its internal users have seen reductions in development period by 50 percent.

As a leading credit card service provider in China, CITIC Bank Credit Card Center is in the process of transforming its distributed architecture through the development of an end-to-end delivery and governance system. With the new system, the team aims to facilitate agile delivery, enable microservices management and intelligent operation and maintenance for faster business innovation, and facilitate IT quality control and IT risk management.
Key to its distributed architecture transformation is in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). China Merchants Bank Co., Ltd. (China Merchants Bank, CMB) was established in Shekou, Shenzhen in 1987. It is China's first joint-stock commercial bank wholly owned by corporate legal entities. Following its rigorous evaluation process, CUB adopted Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Fuse to implement a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for its banking services, together with Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP). With its new platform, CUB finds that it now has capabilities that enable it to compete with fintech providers, including improved time to market for its digital services. The platform has also reduced the total cost of ownership and improved the team’s flexibility in resource management.
Looking back at how far we have come today, it would not have been achievable with our previous monolith architecture. TAIFEX has been committed to the development of Taiwan's futures market since its establishment in 1997. Faced with changing market demands and increasing globalization, TAIFEX has embraced agile development and deployment processes to better address the evolving market. In order to enhance system efficiency, break free from vendor lock-in and improve its competitive edge, TAIFEX migrated from its legacy UNIX system to an open source platform based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Satellite, successfully launching its new trading system in 2016.
The migration to its Red Hat-based platform enabled TAIFEX to launch new asset classes, cut latency by 75 percent, improve performance consistency, and launch after-hour trading sessions.

IAGCloud Infrastructure, The Open Source Way
IAG is the parent company of a general insurance group with controlled operations in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. Due to its large scale, it was necessary to consolidate its infrastructure and the multiple silos it had grown into to create a single data organization and displace the costs it was incurring. IAG decided to move to the cloud with the help of Red Hat Consulting and use open source tools including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Satellite, and Red Hat Ansible. The result was a platform that can develop and deliver better solutions to customers more efficiently, and can better maintain customer satisfaction. Through the project, IAG also started recognizing the value of open source, and now has a number of engineers contributing to various open source projects, with plans to open source some of its newly developed solutions.
Before the project, we were faced with different versions of information, making it impossible to make an informed business decision. Red Hat had been a trusted partner of IAG and was the natural choice for us when we set out to consolidate the system. Thanks to this project, we are now able to have greater visibility of what our customers are thinking and better serve their needs. One such project is MyGov, it is a citizen engagement platform. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, launched this initiative on July 26, 2014. A subsidiary of AIS - Thailand’s leading mobile operator - MIMO Tech operates as an IT operator, content aggregator, and application development support for AIS and its other subsidiaries. Among its roles is to help support customer calls from AIS.
AIS was in the midst of expanding its business offerings to include fiber solutions for homes and 4G mobile connections. In preparation for the business expansion, MIMO Tech turned to open source solutions to consolidate the many systems that were used for its operations. National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT) is a public research institute in Japan specializing in research and development of information and communication technology. NICT performs various studies, with an eye to reporting results of the research and development and creating innovation, in cooperation with industries, universities, and other research institutes. NICT introduced Red Hat OpenStack Platform to build a more stable and flexible virtual platform for its network services. Currently in the verification/testing phase of the system, the burden on system administrators was reduced and the quality of service stabilized by using Red Hat OpenStack Platform. NICT was also able to build an infrastructure that will be able to provide faster and more reliable services into the future.

NTT DOCOMO, one of Japan's largest telecommunications company, introduced a virtual infrastructure using Red Hat OpenStack Platform for “CiRCUS” and “MAPS” to provide ISP service (i-mode/sp mode) for end users, and to replace their legacy physical servers. Red Hat OpenStack Platform became its new cloud infrastructure to help reduce workload related to infrastructure with automatization of system construction. In addition to Red Hat OpenStack Platform’s ability to help curb costs, the company was drawn to its ability to work with existing systems, allowing for more flexibility and Red Hat's high quality support for their mission critical environment during the migration.
While the introduction of Red Hat OpenStack Platform into the mission critical system domain was a challenge, we are very glad to be recognized for it. We have been pushing ahead with the system migration with steady development, while keeping system quality high. Consequently, we are realizing the benefits of building a flexible infrastructure according to business conditions and automatic IT management.

SSM is Malaysia's sole statutory body that incorporates companies and registers businesses. As the leading authority for the improvement of corporate governance, SSM ensures compliance with business registration and corporate legislation through comprehensive enforcement and monitoring activities.
With the aim of eliminating all manual handling of registration and transitioning to an automated online process, SSM used Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, and Red Hat JBoss Fuse to replace its existing IT system, and lay the foundation for its organizational transformation plan.
China Welfare Lottery Issuance and Management CentreDigital Transformation, Modern Application Development
The China Welfare Lottery Distribution and Management Center is a unit directly under the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and is responsible for the nation's welfare lottery distribution and sales. To realize a multi-channel sale of the lottery tickets, the China Welfare Lottery Distribution and Management Centre decided to build a distributed cloud architecture to support the operations of its lottery applications while providing autonomous control. With Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Ceph Storage, the centre quickly launched a new OpenStack platform in their private cloud, and saw benefits across the operation and maintenance, development and business departments.
Our journey towards open source and innovation is aligned to the national strategy of digital economy industry development and innovation-driven development. To keep pace with change brought about by the Internet+ era, China Welfare Lottery Issuance and Management Centre adjusted our informatization strategy. We thank Red Hat for its provision of open source technologies and services, and for the great support in ensuring the success of our global infrastructure planning process and business application operations. China Mobile Research InstituteCloud Infrastructure
The China Mobile Research Institute began its research in network technology in 2015, and conceptualized a possible future network called NovoNet - a 3-layer decoupled network architecture with a new data center, new network and new brain as its core. Since then, the team performed extensive experimentations and pilots targeted at NovoNet. Using Red Hat OpenStack Platform, China Mobile was able to undertake the research and development in an innovative way, which resulted in time and cost savings during the proof-of-concept phase.

As part of its digital transformation efforts, Wanda Internet Technology Group needed a platform to implement DevOps and the use of new technologies, such as microservices. Using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Gluster Storage, the Red Hat Global Professional Services team helped migrate financial applications to the PaaS platform, which laid the foundation for flexible scalability and upgrades in the future. At the same time, the solution provided a new application deployment model using containers, which enhanced business flexibility.
At Wanda Internet Technology Group, we consistently look at adopting new technologies to promote the business development. The reconstruction was very smooth - we successfully containerized our systems and gone live within a matter of weeks. CFETS Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (CFETS IT) is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Foreign Exchange Trading System & National Interbank Funding Center. To adapt to fast growth demand for the foreign exchange market and flexible foreign exchange trading, CFETS IT decided to utilize mainly open source software to deploy a distributed application architecture. With Red Hat Ansible Tower, the company achieved quick and automated resource configuration, and migrated from Weblogic-based solution to Red Hat JBoss Web Server, which optimized overall application architecture, while improving the business flexibility and overall business throughput significantly.
This was a major digital transformation in CFETS IT. During the first phase of the transformation, we worked together with Red Hat to deliver a high-quality new generation trading platform. The successful go-live of this platform was a great first step for our digital transformation as it enhanced our trust in open source software and provided the confidence needed to continue working with Red Hat.
Yunnan Power Grid CompanyThe Open Source Way
The Information Center of Yunnan Power Grid Co., Ltd. is the department responsible for constructing, operating and maintaining the provincial-level information system of Yunnan Power Grid. It specializes in R&D, construction, operation and maintenance of the system application platform. By using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform with prebuilt Kubernetes and Docker at the core of Yunnan Power Grid's DC/OS cluster, the team was able to optimize data center resource management and scheduling, improve the resource utilization and scheduling efficiency, and enable applications to be scheduled and run on the appropriate base resources automatically. Meanwhile, the company improved its overall application delivery process, and created an application-centric cloud platform, which provided faster delivery capability to meet IT demand for business development, testing, operation and maintenance. In addition, automated scalability also mean that the team was able to meet sudden peaks in access demands to ensure the business was always-on.
Through the use of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and support from Red Hat, we were able to effectively reduce R&D manpower and time cost, while maintaining autonomous control and achieving continuous development of the platform.

Established in 2008 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ping An Group, Ping An Technology currently has more than 4,000 professional IT technical staff and IT management experts. Ping An Cloud Platform is a product of Ping An Technology's "cloud" strategy. Since its inception, Ping An Technology has adhered to finance-level security standards and continuously enhanced the cloud platform's stability and reliability. By using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Ceph Storage, it has not only reduced the costs of deep technology R&D, but also kept continuous iterations of IT systems, so that 90 percent of its end users can acquire secure and quality services when using this financial cloud platform.

CargoSmart is one of the world's largest integrated international container transportation, logistics and terminal companies. It is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with networks encompassing Asia, Europe, North America and Australasia. The organization needed to scale out in a short period of time to improve efficiency and time to market. Therefore, they embarked on a journey with Red Hat’s OpenStack and CloudForms which provided a stable platform matched with high capabilities. It also paved the way for future expansion.
We are the very first enterprise in Hong Kong to implement Red Hat OpenStack Platform in a production system. Red Hat has the most open-source developers and contributors on the OpenStack platform, which greatly helps our project evaluation stage and implementation stage.

Credit Information Bureau Ltd (CIBIL)
The Credit Information Bureau India Limited (CIBIL) is the first and leading credit bureau of India, earmarked as a National Critical Asset. To achieve a faster response time to credit report requests from its member banks, CIBIL adopted Red Hat technologies in a four-phase project to virtualize, migrate, configure and maintain its mission critical systems. This has allowed CIBIL to successfully reduce its server footprint, decrease capital expenditure, improve performance and enjoy better security.
Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization assists the tripartite Board in India to administer a contributory provident fund, pension scheme and an insurance scheme for the workforce engaged in the organized sector in India. Consisting of offices at 122 locations across the country, EPFO embarked on a project with Red Hat to reduce the time in information exchange and to reduce the lengthy verification process by consolidating the data under one roof.
National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.
National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) is one of the leading stock exchanges, both in APAC and globally. NSE provides a core platform for traders and investors for various activities such as stock, currency, commodity, and derivatives trading. With increased accessibility to trading, NSE needed to maintain its competitive edge and strengthen its ability to handle the growing transactions with a modern, fully automated screen-based trading system.
Red Hat solutions were strategic in helping NSE successfully move towards its goal of becoming the world's largest stock exchange in terms of trading volume and the range of products and services offered.
PT Kereta Api
PT KAI is a state-owned enterprise and one of the oldest and major public railway operators in Indonesia. In its endeavor to modernize the railway passenger core ticketing system, PT KAI collaborated with Red Hat to develop its next-generation railway ticketing system using Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat JBoss Fuse, a lightweight, flexible, integration platform for integrating applications, data, services, and devices. Based on popular open source technologies, JBoss Fuse provides services for transformation, routing, and log assignments.

Asahi Tekko was founded in 1948 and is in the manufacturing industry. They would like to build an internal system that optimizes production efficiency with the use of IoT technology. With the help of Red Hat, Asahi Tekko successfully decreased manufacturing, manpower and operation costs. They were also able to monitor the system in real-time with flexibility and accuracy.
Softbank is a telecommunications company and have been looking to modernize their system that is responsible for all mobile phone-related contracts. Key to the system is high accuracy and robustness. With Red Hat’s technical strengths in open source, Softbank was able to improve on capabilities and reduce overall cost. They also gained first mover advantage with a system that is so flexible.
POSCO ICT needed a low-cost, high efficiency IT system due to spending cuts amidst a low growth season. The company drastically reduced costs and increased internal capabilities by configuring its smart factory IT environment with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and Red Hat JBoss instead of using proprietary solutions.

National Computing & Information Service (NCIS)
National Computing and Information Service (NCIS) is the Korean government’s institute responsible for managing the government’s internet data center for e-government services, which is used nationwide by its government employees and all citizens. Together with Red Hat, NCIS developed a software-defined data center based on a private cloud infrastructure using open source software. This resulted in the development of the world’s first Government Integrated Data Center.
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB)
TNB is the largest electricity utility in Malaysia and one of the largest in the southeast Asia region. Recently, TNB embarked on an IT transformation to modernize it existing IT environment that was previously based on proprietary UNIX systems. The new platform allowed TNB to create a stable, reliable and more secure infrastructure platform, capable of taking on today’s challenges with the flexibility to adapt to tomorrow’s requirements.

Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech)
To push forth Singapore's vision of becoming a smart nation, GovTech developed a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution for the Singapore government using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. The innovative use of open cloud technology enables government agencies to quickly develop, host and scale applications. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform not only helps in accelerating innovation but also helps GovTech to create and deploy applications with speed and consistency.
We love the challenge of building NECTAR, an open cloud native application infrastructure for the government of Singapore, as it requires us to design, build, deploy and operate a Platform-as-a-Service that can meet stringent government requirements while maintaining usability, reliability and agility. The team couldn’t have done it without great support from Red Hat, the open source community and our partner agencies including Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) and Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO).

Ranked 13th globally and 1st amongst the world’s best young universities, NTU Singapore has in recent years positioned itself firmly at the forefront of strategic research in Singapore, helping to fuel Singapore's drive for research and innovation. Its Smart Mobility Test Bed (SMTB) project aims to build cutting edge Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) that enhance public transportation services and commuter safety, pushing new frontiers in technology. To increase its infrastructure and operational efficiency, NTU reached out to Red Hat to create a highly scalable and modular, container-based platform that can also handle the dynamism of the platform.
NTU’s Smart Mobility Test Bed (SMTB) Project Team and High Performance Computing Centre, together with Red Hat form a collaborative tripartite team to deliver a versatile and scalable container-based cloud infrastructure to support complex cutting edge Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) that can enhance public transportation services and commuter safety. This collaboration has been exciting and challenging, but purposeful, and exemplifies how NTU together with its partners aim to improve the quality of living through technological innovation.
Inventec Corporation is a Taiwan Stock Exchange listed electronic manufacturing service company that provides services like engineering design and development to top brands in the world. They had to build a service flow system to better serve their customers and chose Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization to improve flexibility and achieve scalability. They are now able to provide efficient services to their customers and at the same time, increase revenue for the organization.

China Life Insurance was founded in 1963 and currently has seven customer service centers, seven life insurance business divisions, eight branch offices and 167 service points. It was challenging for the organization to standardize the existing environment, hence they chose Red Hat JBoss EAP to build the Customer Online Insurance System on. The Red Hat solutions implemented not only allows the company to enjoy great flexibility but also scalability and efficiency, thanks to standardization and automation.
