The impact of COVID-19 on the jobs market has been substantial, but we know that enterprises are still looking for qualified IT professionals. Red Hat is working to help those affected by COVID-19 gain the skills and knowledge that can help them find their next opportunity.
We hope to help more people learn and be able to demonstrate the in-demand skills that will help them land a position in the IT industry, which is why we are making our Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Linux learning path available for free to job-seekers in collaboration with SkillsBuild.org.
The content will be augmented with content from other SkillsBuild.org content partners to make our Linux track viable for those with no or minimal IT background who are looking to re-skill in order to re-enter the workforce. Whether you are seeking job retraining, are a student entering the workforce and getting started in your career, or a seasoned IT professional, this training will be a fit for you.
The RHCSA learning path within SkillsBuild includes access to take Red Hat System Administration 1 (RH124), Red Hat Preliminary Exam in System Administration I (PE124), Red Hat System Administration II (RH134), and Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) exam (EX200), with up to 80 hours of lab time per course.
Training options for every skill level and career stage
Red Hat’s collaboration with SkillsBuild.org as a content partner enables users to develop skills in Linux system administration. SkillsBuild.org provides jobseekers with career fit assessments, training, personalized coaching and the experiential learning they need to re-enter the workforce. The program provides Linux, and Cloud tracks as well as prerequisite courses for learners who are completely new to Linux, as well as learning tracks for furloughed workers who want to learn new skills and those who are new to the job force.
The SkillsBuild platform offers digital learning content curated for specific job roles and career paths. The platform also offers skill-based learning, and learning coaches available to guide job seekers as they upskill and prepare to re-enter the workforce.
Getting started with Skillsbuild.org
To gain access to the SkillsBuild program, individuals must identify as a furloughed worker, veteran or asylum seeker looking to re-skill and re-enter the workforce. They can then work with a non-governmental organization (NGO) or nonprofit organization (NPO) partner of SkillsBuild to unlock access. To view the current list of SkillsBuild partners individuals can contact and work with, please navigate to SkillsBuild.org and see the partner section by region.
