Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and HashiCorp have released two new Red Hat Ansible Certified Content Collections for HashiCorp Terraform and HashiCorp Vault: hashicorp.terraform and hashicorp.vault. These collections enhance automation with HashiCorp for securing and managing cloud infrastructure. The hashicorp.terraform collection integrates with HashiCorp Terraform for infrastructure lifecycle management, streamlining deployments, and supporting Infrastructure as Code (IAC) workflows. The hashicorp.vault collection will automate secrets management for authentication bolstering security. Both collections are certified by Red Hat, enabling reliability, enterprise support.
Red Hat Ansible Certified Content Collection for HashiCorp Terraform
The new hashicorp.terraform collection has been built from the ground up to provide API integration with HCP Terraform and Terraform Enterprise. This approach focuses on leveraging the APIs as the direct integration point, bringing a robust and efficient connection between Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and your HashiCorp Terraform environments.
Key benefits of this new collection include:
- API-first integration: By directly integrating with Terraform’s APIs, this collection offers performance and reliability, so that your automation tasks are executed with minimal overhead.
- Enhanced compatibility: Designed specifically for HCP Terraform and Terraform Enterprise, it provides native support for features and functionalities for these platforms.
- Streamlined workflows: Automate complex Terraform operations, IaC configuration versions, and deploy infrastructure with greater ease and fewer manual steps.
Red Hat Ansible Certified Content Collection for HashiCorp Vault
Alongside the Terraform collection, we also released a new Red Hat Ansible Certified Content Collection for HashiCorp Vault, hashicorp.vault. This collection offers capabilities for managing Vault and using Vault as a secret store for automation.
We are releasing version 1.0 of the collection now that supports dynamically accessing secrets from playbooks for automation. It also supports creating, updating, and deleting Key/Value Version 2 (KV2) secrets in HashiCorp Vault.
Key features planned for the Certified Collection for HashiCorp Vault:
- Robust security automation: Automate the management of secrets, identities, and access policies within your Vault environment.
- Zero-trust automation: Leverage Vault as the secret store for automation to support zero trust environments and meeting security and compliance requirements.
This collection helps you confidently automate in a zero-trust environment with the backing of a validated and supported solution.
