Arindam Samanta is a Software Engineering Intern with Red Hat's AI Product and Community Contributions (AIPCC), where he has been contributing to the PyTorch Engineering team since 2026 Jan. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at BMS Institute of Technology and Management, Bengaluru.

During his internship, Arindam has focused on CI/CD pipeline optimization, QA automation, and upstream open source contributions. His work includes implementing sccache compiler caching to reduce build times by 25-30%, developing automated QA tools for the PyTorch testing pipeline, conducting GPU kernel profiling research using NVIDIA Nsight Compute, and contributing to upstream PyTorch with multiple merged pull requests.

Arindam's journey in open source began at age 12 when he first installed Fedora, sparking a lasting interest in community-driven development and the philosophy of building tools that empower others. His technical interests span ML infrastructure, GPU computing, distributed systems, and developer tooling.

At Red Hat, he works on production-scale infrastructure that supports the global PyTorch ecosystem, embodying the company's upstream-first philosophy by ensuring improvements benefit the entire open source community.
