AI has rapidly become integral to business operations and shows no signs of slowing down. In a recent Red Hat survey, more than three quarters of respondents said preparing for AI adoption was a top driver for their cloud growth in 2025.
This rapid growth of interest and adoption of AI technologies brings challenges. That same research showed that 71% of IT managers said AI was one of the top skills gaps they will have over the next 12-18 months that will likely limit their cloud adoption ambitions.
As we look to the year ahead and even beyond, we must consider how we address some of those underlying issues that may slow or impact the adoption of AI.
Accelerate action - working with Teens in AI
At Red Hat, we know that solving the skills gap requires action across education and industry. Red Hat, along with its partners, is taking proactive steps to bridge the growing AI skills gap by focusing on open source collaboration and accessible AI tools.
Our commitment to nurturing future leaders spans from students in University through Red Hat Academy and providing internship opportunities for recent graduates, to Red Hat Training and Certification for working professionals.
Inspired by International Women’s Day’s theme of “Accelerate Action,” we’re also proudly supporting Teens in AI, an organisation that empowers young people with the knowledge and experience to explore AI and contribute to real-world solutions.
This collaboration aligns with Red Hat’s AI vision to support open, collaborative ecosystems in AI development. Through Teens in AI, we’ll help young innovators and future technology leaders understand the amazing opportunities that AI - and the broader technology ecosystem - can bring.
"Teens in AI has been instrumental in empowering over 20,000 young minds across 97 countries, driving innovation that aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” Elena Sinel, founder of Teens in AI, shared. “This year’s International Women’s Day theme, 'Accelerate Action', perfectly encapsulates our shared mission with Red Hat to inspire the next generation of leaders to create ethical, impactful AI solutions. Together, we’re bridging the skills gap and ensuring young innovators are equipped to shape a more inclusive and sustainable tech future."
How you can get involved
Throughout the next few months, Red Hat associates from across EMEA will lend their time and expertise to support teens from around the globe who will participate in a hackathon to design and build AI tools and applications.
We invite you to join us in supporting these initiatives and celebrating the power of young innovators as they rise to meet the challenges and opportunities in AI. The future of technology undoubtedly lies in AI, and we strive to empower teens to shape its future.
